  1. Im sure the Kiwi's have come up with a few of these. Theres a drift car with the conversion, just cant remember which country its in, maybe UK
  2. I dont have any info for you, but I will watch this topic as im in a similar position in the whole "is it worth doing a Trans Swap over just selling it". My only difference might be that Im so sicking-ly in love with my car still, so I would do anything I could affordably to keep it for a long long time. I could get a straight answer out of the few Auto shops I had contacted, so lets hope you get the info you need. Cheers
  3. The lumpy old thing. Stock as a rock. Nearly replaced it with the 2.5 Vq Stagea Turbo, but the wife said she preferred this one. Glad she said that.

Such a timeless shape, which I hope I can enjoy for many years to come.

  4. I think I saw this car on Carsales. I LOVE the sedan of the v35 and sometimes wish I had bought one instead of the coupe. I look forward to seeing what you do with this car and future mods. Im looking to have my Autobox replaced by a 6 speed, just havent found anyone who likes to work on these cars yet. Good luck with it. Cheers
  5. Damn then, I should've just bought a Commodore if thats the case...would've saved a bit of money. Woulda Shoulda Coulda. How about I just call it a Sports Car when no one else is around. Save the embarrassment. Im ready to do that major service you mentioned, if you feel ok with it I wouldn't mind knowing who you went with. Cant seem to find anyone down my way that I feel comfortable with. Cheers
  6. Thank you for your response ZX350, My story is very similar to yours, as you would have read, only just wish the woman I bought it off here would tell me the name of the people she bought it off (the importers). So I could also report them to RTA. Im sorry to hear you had also been lied to as a result of the odometer paperwork, I wonder if you also felt initially that the car was a fraud and in turn treated it as the offender like I had haha. I took it for its first drive after about 2.5 weeks last weekend, and for the first time since owning it (about 2 months now) I really gave it some. Normally I floor it when im on the Freeway just to do a wanker styled unnecessary over taking maneuver, but never really thrown it into corners and sliding it out with the VDC button off. Im not sure if it was in haste or animosity towards the car or who ever the f**khead was who wound it back for a profit, but I really REALLY enjoyed the car. I felt a real connection with it for the first time. Almost like ive dusted off the webs and dust and brought it to life. I think knowing its not a genuine "Low Km" car as advertised has given me a bit of that freedom I had when i used to tear about in my R31's. Anyhoo, Im hoping to find someone who can do the 40whp exhaust mod over the next few weeks and just have fun with it. We really did pick a lovely model of sports car! Cheers to us and all those who had their cars wound back! And all of us Skyline people.
  7. I also just got back from a cruise, so nice to be back in it after almost 2 weeks. Yeh turbos have been added to the list. Ill just have to tell her the extra power came from a new exhaust system haha ...and the money went to great charity?!!
  8. Hmmm new missus and Turbos or Happy Life Happy Wife and no turbos......what a dilemma haha
  9. Holy moly, I gotta admit that is not the type of money my missus would be happy about me spending. I would imagine if that was the price 10 years ago its likely to be even more now. That being said, THAT IS FRIKKIN AWESOME. I want it......holy shit. Ill give these guys a call anyways and see what they might charge for a full exhaust and filter upgrade. Cheers for the pics, now all I want is turbos.......after convincing myself I never needed a turbo Skyline in my old age!
  10. I couldnt find the result of the problem in this forum, whats happened to it in the end? I like how you used the "family sedan" trick on your partner too. Mine was more like "Family cruiser that the kids will love when we have them" haha
  11. Im keen also. Mines a white v35 and its been in my ownership about 2 months. Still very much in love with it too. I wonder if youre thinking exhausts a little bit yet?? or a LOT hehe EDIT; Too many Toos
  12. BEAUTIFUL!! So Jelly you got a manual one!
  13. !!!!! TWIN TURBO - Woah. May I ask how much that conversion cost you all up?
  14. Actually the thought did enter my head to do the sale of a Lowish KM v35 and act dumb when they ask if the Km's are genuine, however just like you said, this car feels great and there is a small possibility that I could get a genuine low KM car that has not been looked after. Its weird but since i found out the results of the Odometer search, I havent driven it. Almost like its paused in time until I make the decision to rebuild it or sell it. Im just now researching the best affordable way to rebuild the engine and add a few ponies. Cheers again for all the positive responses.
  15. Yes this is actually exactly what I was thinking.
  16. Thanks Junkie, that encourages me to think more positively about it. I almost feel sorry for the thing sitting there all sheepish in my garage haha.
  17. Oh why oh WHY did I buy a dodgy Sky. Lucky I love the damn thing so much! Woooo skid

  18. Yes we are trying to track them down. Previous owner is reluctant to give up the name, but i have a strong feeling it might be one of the yards that are currently getting attention in the media. Car is straight as an arrow, engine is purring like a kitten and the mechanic seemed to be quite happy with it. I guess the trick now is to suggest to the missus that because the car is out of whack we will just simply have to modify the shit out of it Cheers all the same.
  19. Hi Fam, I hope this topic hasnt been addressed recently so apologies if so. Firstly i LOVE this car. Its everything I wanted in a stock Skyline after months of trying to pick the best platform of this beautiful car. The v35just ticked all the boxes for myself and my family. I have just gone through the process of getting my v35 Coupe history and today I found the car had been wound back. (Imported to Aus at 101k kms and sold to me almost 18months later with a lovely 83k kms....magical). How much its been wound back, Im still trying to find out. Its a horrible feeling knowing we were deceived by the previous owner and potentially they were too. That being said we knew prior to purchase that the owner did NOT have a service history or log books, we just felt the car was in such good condition that perhaps the advertised 84,000kms were true. The reason for this post and please forgive me if this has already been discussed here, however I wanted to know how other people felt after they received the unwanted news. i also wanted to know what they did with the car, going forward. Personally I would like to keep this car and throw a bit of money in it to make it nicer to drive (even though it is a beautiful ride). Its just not knowing exactly how many Km's have been done, not knowing if major services were done after or before landing here in Aus. I also wanted to get some advice on small increase of performance with Exhaust mods. Thank you in advance.
  20. Ahhhh that explains it, done and done. Cheers chaps
  21. Damn, i missed this cruise. Was it for a specific model Skyline?? Thought I wouldve got some kind of email cos im a member of the NSW branch...
  22. Hi Froggy, Did you manage to get a solution with this? I only just found your post and thought your problem sounded familiar. However slightly different that the creaking sound was actually coming from the rear end. I know you prob think im barking up the wrong tree here but maybe you can work out if it is in fact your chair thats making the noise by fiddling with it from the rear seat? If it is in fact from the rear end (axle or suspension area) then let me know, cos I just had mine fixed! Good luck!
  23. Sorry for the delay reply, Im not getting notifications for anything on SAU... ANyhooo, Yeh i bought mine about a month and a half ago and Ive had a horrible clicking noise from the rear end under load. Did you or have you ever heard anything like that in yours? Even with the unknown service history and the strange noise, I have to admit its the best car Ive ever driven. Im so so happy I went for this model over the Turbo 34 I was looking at. You mentioned you didnt like your wheels, any thoughts of what you might get?
  24. Yeh its like im sitting in a chair that im too fat for, which only appears at low speed load. Forgive my Noobness but what is a TSB?
