if you get the placard for a 34 [doesnt say r34 on it i dont think] it doesnt specify much difference between models it just lists: 17 x 7.5 with 225/45 tyres and 18 x 9.5 with 265/35 tyres I think So technically I could put some big & wide fcuk off rims on mine

Trader Ratings in Profile?
NismoR34 replied to lwells's topic in Site discussion - including Ideas/Feedback & Bugs
I can't find a post by a particular person in the For Sale section to be able to give them a trader rating - item bought off me via pm! Is this still being looked at? -
INSANE you are the one who "owned" yourself this morning...it was approximately 0832 hours, had just been raining and what do I hear screaming down the Monash Freeway just after warrigal rd entrance, ducking in and out of lanes like a bat out of hell :burnout:??? None other than the keyboard-t88-on-board-warrior himself this one will be good for publicity Just as well you changed yr number plates from yr user id

This is the very last time I will bother replying to people in here [i will check back for other peoples responses for a laugh but dont bother asking me any q's]. Talk about out of context. Yes, air intake and exhaust mods can give you a natural boost increase... I already know this... So you removed either an "NQR" or "under-spec'd for a modified car" stock ic and replaced it with a brand new stock item? Then you compared the results of that with the FMIC results? OR did you just go straight from an ic trying to work outside its efficiency zone [and probably blocked from dirt/bugs/rocks/dints/etc] to a big fmic? Either way your post is virtually useless to the coversation because in addition to the useless test you did, your before and after comparisons have exhaust and filter mods - I am talking about a fkn stock car NO MODS! OR, you didnt give me anywhere near enough info on your test? Which is it? My main points were 1. Most people put on FMIC's for looks more than anything else [a lot of these ppl also have p-plates and advertise their mobile numbers for chicks to call them up and be fully sik together]. 2. I am talking about FCUKING stock cars, how many times must I use the word "stock" before people realise? fcuk me. :chop: :bs!: :hellpisd: :cuss: :looney: :chairshot:flamer:

we are not arguing, well im not anyway increasing boost with a bleeder is what raised the power - I was talking about STOCK! dont twist things, i know the stock 33 cooler is restrictive etc my stock 34 ic does a great job with my mods [full 3inch turbo back exh, pod and 10-11psi]!

No, I am not. I know what rice is - putting on a FMIC, including the usual: widening / opening up of the front bar, an aftermarket front bar for more exposure, spraying big jap brand logos etc are all for show.Even without the extra bits that usually go with a FMIC install - how much power exactly does a bigger intercooler give to a stock car [33 gtst]? Where is the evidence of this? AFAIK all it will do with a stock turbo [which is what we are talking about] is run more efficiently [perhaps] than the stock ic... INASNT said: "its the first thing people do for performance" and since we are talking about stock cars, how much performance does a big FMIC give? Nearly every r33 gtst I see in places like chapel st [but certainly not limited to] have this mod - why? for looks, plain and simple. If they eventually get a bigger turbo and / or upgrade their exhaust/intake/boost/cams/etc that doesn't mean the FMIC actually gave any power - it just "helped" deliver it to the engine - either faster through less pressure drop or cooler through being more efficient. How many other loonies are prepared to put their hand up with these guys and say that "a FMIC installed on a stock r33 gtst, running stock turbo & boost is going to give greater power"??? Now, installing a bigger FMIC along with other mods like a bigger turbo, much higher boost than stock etc, that is a different story [not what I am even talking about]. Amen.

Correction: it's one of the first things RICERS do!~ Gojira: thought so MeshMesh: those pics are after the Jaws Of Life have chopped up the car...sliding out of control into a pole at 70k in the wet would still do enough damage imo, not that i am saying they were doing 70... I have posted enough in this thread. :run:Im out

Are you being sarcastic or not?I personally don't believe in good luck, bad luck or accidents. Everything happens for a reason is my belief, though I am not really religious. And before you flame me for insensitivity: My father died in a car crash - he wasn't doing anything silly, was a Datsun 1200.
-
Travelling 70k in a 70k zone is not illegal generally speaking, a P-plate driver with an illegal car such as this however is a different story. I recall a part of the "Honda driver" saying "he hit boost...on a bend" and somebody else on ns forums said it was a non-turbo 33 converted to a turbo - if this is the case then was to rest of the car "upgraded" such as brakes, suspension etc??? My summation: Hitting boost mid way through a bend in a turbo-modified r33 GTS without traction control in the wet with friends on board [also possibly p plater] = NO BRAINS

I agree. A lot of the Serious Drag Racers don't even bother driving themselves anymore, usually someone lighter/smaller with better reflexes... I have been in accidents in previous cars, my first car a 59 Kw engined 1984 Bluebird Gx and secondly a 96 Kw engined 1991 Pintara Trx [modified slightly]. /Start:rant: I change my oil, suspension, spark plugs [not that easy on a 34gtt], parts of the exhaust, wheels, soon to do brakes, misc electrical wiring, R&R misc parts inc AAC valve, throttle, IC & plumbing, front apron & reo, some panels, headlights, modifications to intake etc...hopefully I won't need to R&R the engine! My car has barely been touched by my mechanic in 2 years... /end

The news articles clearly state: "Police believe all those involved in the crash were in their late teens or early 20s" and "Two young men were killed in an apparent street drag racing accident in St Kilda overnight." and "The victims were 18-year-old and 19-year-old" The only detail yet to be revealed is the drivers exact age but given the rest of the info I doubt he is much older than the passengers.. Was the driver's age or license status [P plate or not] mentioned in the TV news?

Nguyen is like the Vietnamese version of Smith, in other words its a very common name.Pronounced "nwin" according to a vietnamese friend!

Another link from the General Section of these forums talks about the issues around Driver Training Courses [towards the end of the article] http://www.news.com.au/common/story_page/0...255E421,00.html

A slightly UPDATED article here http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2004/10/...6871847813.html, doesn't say age of driver or whether P plate though. It does mention names of victims...hopefully nobody's friends or family

For a Probationary driver 125 kw per tonne is the limit - that is 125 kw at the engine NOT wheels!A 125 kw engine would be lucky to see 100 kw at the rear wheels. I believe a manual r33 gtst 2 door is over the limit in STOCK form. Calc: 187kw engine stock, 1380 kgs = 135.5 kw per tonne http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/vrne/vrnint...%5BLearners+%5D Scroll down to High powered cars section
