  1. Yes for some people, perhaps there should be tolerance but how do they workout the good drivers from the bad? From the start of this year up until about July I was getting pulled over "randomly" at least once a month - police were generally nice to me but it was getting annoying. The reasons I kept getting pulled over [police have told me these things]: * the type of car i drive * being on dandenong rd [i live just off it in malvern east so hard to avoid really] * the reputation drivers of these cars have generated * cars like this street racing * etc
  2. I agree. Similar thread here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...d.php?p=1036728
  3. I agree. There is a reason for the power-to-weight ratio law - which makes it illegal for P-platers to drive these type of cars. Worse still is they then modify them for even more power and expect to keep them on the road - without traction control or much actual driving experience. In this instance I don't know for sure what happened but I have seen plenty of p-platers doing sideways driving on the street - its only a matter of time before they hit a pole, seen it too many times but not just skylines either! 4. Arnold Jackson - Aka Gary Coleman Hey whaddayaknow - i know something!
  5. You are wrong there is no assumption, the video footage shows only 1 screen. I don't think you know what an assumption is.As for "case closed": you are not the judge and you never will be, do not bother even trying to judge me, get over yourself. Also Refer to "case closed" comments [once again you are not the judge].Anyone who reads any of my posts on this page can clearly workout that I was either mislead or WRONG - as you put it!
  6. I didn't make any assumptions. *It looked like one car on a dyno in the video footage [heavily compressed and not great, clear quality]. *I saw 1 screen. *Where is the assumption? I am keeping the text nice and simple for everyone to follow...
  7. If you have an issue with me Matt, why dont you send me a PM or reply to the thread that your issue relates to? Instead of in this one? If you are looking for something to pick at me with, you are going to have to try harder for a real excuse to have a go at me -oh, and good luck.
  8. The problem is not unique to the 34, most people don't even know about it because of the amount of boost you need to run before the problem presents itself.I have heard older Skylines and Silvias have had this happen and even other non-Nissans, some backyard fix is to put wire like a coat hanger inside to prevent sucking in or collapsing under high boost NO THANKS! The problem is also accelerated by hotter under bonnet temps - perhaps due to copious drag runs or track racing. It's rubber, it flexes when it heats up! I want to modify my pipe for better flow and to prevent it from happening at all - I don't think in the 2 years I have owned my car it has actually happened, although after 17 runs at Heathcote last year something may have...I couldn't actually say 100% that it was the pipe sucking in but it was a highly likely probability...
  9. Anyone got anything else USEFUL to say on this topic? didnt think so I didn't "own" myself, I never went to any MAS this year and didnt know the setup - last year they never had screens up on the wall, you had to just believe what the guy was saying or be lucky enough to stand anywhere near the computer... anyhow, i didnt know there were "2" screens and you can't see 1 of them in the footage, this wasnt mentioned until AFTER I had worked it out myself, I am also NOT that wrapped up in everyone elses [in the import / modified car scene] cars that I KNOW what the "creatd" car is! I cant stand Supra's - I personally think they are one of the ugliest cars on the road - they just so happen to have a decent engine. Also previous MAS's they only ran 1 car at a time so I didnt initially realise that there was even a lancer running in the background - i just thought it was on a stand or whatever... oh and as for draK and nI - why would i come in here after working it out? You guys were NO help and you would have just flamed me, rubbed it in, owned:, Loled, roxozored, or whatever OTHER stoopid internet wordz yas can think of. You should have just said "there were 2 cars running together" OR that there were "2 screens" not that hard...one day you may workout how to deal with geniuses although there aren't many on internet car forums
  10. Check your pm bass...
  11. Hi turtle, what car do you have? A 33 gtst isn't it? I have done a couple of 34's and I assume the 33 will be similar. I would estimate about 1 hour to do it...I could do it for a slab OR I could help you do it for 1/2 a slab? OR ask JB / Strathfield / Gary's / Autobarn / Danny - they might charge about $50 but I am not sure mate! Cheers Dale
  12. ps I know you dont have either of the "std" or "sports" bars on your car currently [its like URAS or something]... I also have rubber on the underside of my bonnet!!! Just not exactly the same as Abo Bob's.
  13. Ok, here goes: Q1: which bit of rubber exactly, are you talking about? Its starting to sound like you have taken me out of context - which incidently, I am totally sick of happening on this site, no offence to you becuase I am unable to workout from your brief text whether or not you have, it just looks like you have so far... Once you have worked out my first question then please answer me this part: Q2: what front bar came with your car from nissan? My post referred to speculating that the rubber [circled in red in MY attached version / pic of Abo Bob's car] on the LHS is there to seal against the NISSAN SPORTS FRONT BAR - it is obvious when looking at one of these examples that the rubber in question will line up nicely with the top part of the grill - and hence seal it when the bonnet is shut. My car has the STANDARD TYPE front bar and has no grill and hence doesn't need to have rubber because there isnt anything to seal against - again quite an obvious thing once viewed. Please: if you are going to post a comment at least give me enough info to let me know that A. you know what I am talking about and B. that you also know what you are talking about! Why am I on here?
  14. Yeah it makes sense looking at both of Abo Bob's pics that the rubber is there to seal the bonnet against his Nissan Sports bar n grille - i dont have the rubber there because there's nothing to seal agianst with the std bar...speed holes :aroused:
  15. I will probably drill a few holes or something because I want to keep the guide there as I think it is good for the airfow to radiator. btw those 2 bolts were VFT I dont think they have ever been removed before - didnt thread them though
  16. I know air is picked up above the guide and I thought the guide would actually help but about 3 inches back from the very end of the bonnet is a part of the bonnet [underneath] that seals / touches against the air guide - just before the start of the snorkel - see attached pic. As you know mine doesn't have the rubber shown in the pic either...An aftermarket bonnet without this LUMP of metal in it would certainly fix the problem Though I am sure it is also there to guide air into the snorkel!
  17. Thanks for the guide Pete I dont think I had the same problem as CNBLOW or Muz??? Mine was very hard to get on though - I had to remove the little plastic bonnet hook clip [middle one of the two clips that holds the rod in place located on radiator support Drivers Side] otherwise I would have broken it to get the guide past. Even after removing the clip it still needed to be forced into place and currently slightly cuts into the Drivers Side of the front bar / grill area [only slightly]. It would appear to me that if the cut outs all along the top [where the bolts etc go] were shifted a couple of mm to the left it would be a perfect fit on mine so I may modify it slightly to match. As discussed yesterday these are possibly minor variations due perhaps to the cars being built in different factories / production lines etc? I also put some tape on the underside of the bottom part of the guide so it will not scratch the crap out of my bar / grille. Lastly - I am not sure this setup is great for intake air to the snorkel / filter area. I am currently running a pod with the standard snorkel guiding air to it. Basically the guide seals right up against the underside of the bonnet and blocks airflow. I am aware of drilling some holes to allow some air to go through [someone posted a pic of it] but I am not yet convinced that the trade off is worth it? Just some constructive criticism. After fitting the guide yesterday my Oil temp was running much hotter than usual and boost was about 1-2 psi down. Boost was peaking at 10 psi before the guide and only 8-9 psi afterwards - the weather was mild & sunny but I don't think the weather was the main cause of the drop in performance. Radiator / Coolant temp was in normal range, perhaps even a little cooler! Anyone else noticed any performance differences? Don't get me wrong - the guide is in and looks great! Still testing performance issues. Giving you a rating now [give me one too;)] and looking forward to the AFM>Turbo pipe that I have wanted for nearly 2 years
  18. Pete, I was down for this before you posted it Count me in for a black pipe / duct with black hoses and anything else that can be black...do they make black clamps? j/k Cheers!
  19. yeah me too, doncaster is better sunday is probably the only day i can pick up in the next few days...let me know!
  20. oK: i will break it down SLOWLY *Opening shot - yellow supra on dyno [rolling] with a chick wearing yellow *Same Supra on dyno starts getting serious *Same Supra on dyno maxxing out *Same Supra on dyno *Shot pans up and across [from yellow supra with yelow jacketted chick standing next to it] to a display reading 334 kilowatts **there is no lancer **there is a sign reading 334 kws as i said before if i keep typing i am gonna flame the living f*ck outta somebody... everyone wants to be a keyboard warrior
