  4. so what is the advantage of stainless, apart from being stain-less and better looking? Do they withstand higher temps? Are they lighter in weight? I have heard they last longer but that is about all you hear from an exhaust shop... Just wanting to decide which is the better option before i buy too. I have heard that a lot of skylines in Japan just have mild steel aftermarket exhausts - but it may be just the cat-back section though, cant remember.
  5. Secoh, its the same as 33 / 34 too in that case - the filter number is actually A360 and they are as common as muck! VN>VR commo is same too I believe, they are readily available throughout Victoria and I assume Oz too. Pulsar N14 / N15 and Pintara TRX are also the same...the list goes on...Nissan even sell them brand new!
  6. ok - Im not sure about the factory boost control setup on the 33 gtst but on a 34 gtt there are 2 restrictors in place, if you remove either 1 of them or both, power will drop significantly - you can feel the difference [boost gauge used to verify too]. Plumbing in a pneumatic [bleed] valve to introduce MORE restriction results in a boost increase [again boost gauge used to verify but more power is evident by feel]...Its not rocket science ~ Aussie Home Loans ZOOM magazine documented the removal of a restrictor but it applied to the GTR only which has a different setup and does cause a boost increase...when removed. Also 21st Century Performance, Julian Edgar documents this "mod".

I have heard that in VIC you are allowed 1 intake mod, so you can have a pod but it must NOT be made of foam and it must also NOT be an oiled type pod - so any brand fitting this description is ok in Victoria - this info was passed on by fellow members who have spoken directly with the authorities! btw FMIC [aftermarket] and boost increase are INTAKE mods...
  8. hmm yes and no, ER34 GTT RB25DET Neo engine already has 280hp, this is gonna get :confused: ing lol Since the 350z is rated at 215kw, ie breaking the traditional power cap [206kw / 280ps], then I dont see why nissan couldnt do a 250-odd kw turbo model...and go for 300kw on the GTR! The trend in Japan atm seems to be atmo unfortunately though
  9. I feel for you mate - I also lost my father due to a car crash just on 3 yrs ago this month. Try to focus on all the good memories when you're feeling down, I know its hard, I still can't believe my dad is gone... R.I.P to all of our passed loved ones. Dale.

  19. there is no shortage of 34's around melb that have been complianced and sold with the xenon h/lights, most import dealers dont have them changed purposely - buyer gets nicer headlights / dealer gets more money - "that doesnt make it right" of course my 2sense!

  21. Al, your gearing must be different to mine [r34] or something, cause mine was hitting the rev limit at 150km in 3rd gear - no way I could get to 170k / 180k. edit, oops here is my recent dyno sheet [just to stay on-topic ]
