UPDATE: I have just been offered the xenons for a straight swap-over...is it worth it? [i know they look good ;p] But are there any Significant risks? Anyone been in trouble with the authorities or just a rumour? [police, vic roads, epa?]
ylwgtr: can you get the xenon bulbs cheaper than $330? Do you know how long they last for? And lastly, how much is a levelling / cleaning kit?
I am familiar with xenon lamps used in "data / video projector technology" and most last for at least 10,000 hours these days, but i dont know about the "automotive based" lamps?
For $330 they had better last a couple of years!
Btw, to change / remove the headlight assembly you need to remove your front bar as there is ONE bolt underneath the bar [at each side] that needs to be unbolted to remove the light = pain in the butt! My car is sitting at home with no front end / headlights, it looks naked
Btw part 2: I have never heard of a factory headlight bulb that needed to be replaced by removal of the headlamp unit [corrrect if wrong]. Being a "consumable" headlight / parker / indicator / brake bulbs are usually pretty easy to replace on ALL cars...[this does not apply to dashlights of course]. Parker stalk just needs to be rotated a 1/4 turn and it will just pull straight out! unless its rusted in of course...i think they were anti-clockwise...

thanks for the info ylwgtr!
