  1. From wheels mag: 168Kw and 300Nm. [previously 160kw and 292nm] Better looks? That is a matter of taste, wheels mag seem to think its much better than the last model... Subaru claims: 0-100kmh: 5.7 secs. [previous model tested by wheels @ 7.5] 0-400m: 13.9 secs. [previous model tested by wheels @ 15.3] This is for the stock wrx not sti - look out  though i doubt you could reproduce those figures on the street [so to speak].
  2. I think we will be lucky if we can access those twistie roads at all up arthurs seat  investigations etc... will still be a good cruise though!
  3. I think u read me wrong - i dont have a problem with cruising responsibly. Unfortunately in this state cops often hassle people that are NOT doing anything wrong! FTR: I went to ONE mccr event and NEVER went back, this was at least a year ago. Oh yeah my main point is: whats to stop those "dikheads" from turning up - once it is posted for all to see

anything over 90db is not legal for your car. i received a letter from them a couple of months ago, changed my muffler to a more quiet one, had it tested in d/nong, paid the $27.50 testing fee [f***in P**ks] and all was ok [was 87.5 db but was not a skyline, was a modded trx]. I think they tested for emissions too but noise is usually the reason for the letter - unless of course u are chugging out heaps of smoke at the back
  5. just saw this thread but I am pretty keen to come along...voted as a maybe...route sounds good but me thinks more advertising [mccr etc] the more likely for cops to show up  Not that it will affect my car but the Elwood carpark has a few speed humps...just letting ppl know that may have low-rides.
  6. Here tis, for those who may not have seen it: pft...gone!
  7. i didnt realise that it was in like feb / march, i want to cruise now - damit! while i am on holidayz...oh well i guess i will have to find other cruises til then...goes forum jumping...:uh-huh:
  8. Yeah i have seen that one, its white also, it was for sale recently too [pretty expensive though]... looks nice, i have seen it around caulfield area... sort of like freddy krueger or sumthing
  9. I just saw another white GT-T [no spoiler] on friday night, cruising down williams rd [st. kilda east area]. could have been the same one - dunno. If he is anything like me, you could spot me all over victoria, one day i am in olinda or yara glen the next day i might be in colac or torquay! i gets around so this "white gtt - no spoiler" dude could be the same guy:rolleyes:

    bad news 4 me!

5kms, and you didnt spot them? You need to be more PaRaNoId [like me - i can smell them]
  11. yeah, the gauges look like mine actually so probably is turbo
  12. hey devlsh, you didnt miss much as we headed seperate ways from macca's. one of the trx guys had to get his car towed - i think his fuel pump was playing up again. I cruised home with the burgundy 33 - and got yet another breath test cnr dandy & chapel!
  13. I am guessing it was a GT of some sort because the interior is a stock GT auto, but still it is very nice looking. I dont think the 34gtr has those reverse lights either [==] at the back, they arent even on the 2 door GTT man actually. Come to think of it, it may not even be a turbo, those reverse lights are a bit of a giveaway me thinks! [but still scratching my head]
  14. It was a good night! nice turbo weather out in the sticks too, fresh and very crisp
  15. I will be going to this one, and hope to see some of you guys there too! :burnout:
  16. I think there is a common issue here that we may be overlooking. Mine too [r34] seems to leak out some air, i notice it after i have been driving. Ie switched off motor etc. Is it our fuel?, octane? Humidity? Why does there seem to be a leaking of fumes? It's a little odd to me. It almost appears to be an issue that should be addressed when complianced, me thinks :zap:

I got an epa notice about 2 months ago. It was issued by the police and stated "where" they witnessed the "excessive noise". I was pissed off because they heard my exhaust in an enclosed area, ie driving down a small road that has shops on both sides [lots of reverb etc], similar to glenferrie road or chapel st, acland st etc. I had given my car [not the current car] some juice [from 40kmh] to speed up after some slow prick held me back for half an hour and thats exactly where some cops were sitting on the side of the road. My worst luck, having personalised plates they never needed to jump in their car and give chase, they just reported me! Which i didnt know about until about a week later...by mail. bastards. changed muffler, got compliance notice and sent to epa with :upurs: I had already measured my car to be 92-93 db [using proper db meter] and there is know way the cops could tell it was over, just a case of the wrong place at the wrong time i guess...
  18. I have seen a white R34 in the same location, it was an R34 GT-T without spoiler, I am guessing its the same one! Was near trufit exhaust shop [and melb car supamkt] on warrigal rd. Sounded pretty mean due to the "turbo" at the back! he he
  19. Hey, that number plate on the r30 is only one letter different to mine [r34]. SpOoKy!
  20. Thanks guys! I have lowered it a bit, its around 850 - 900 atm. On a cold start though it goes up to nearly 1800 rpm! Until it warms up a bit...I know idle normally is higher on a cold start but this is pretty high I think, and also loud with a/m exhaust.
  21. Hi all, I am a little concerned with the idle as I just got my r34 2 weeks ago and she idles at 1000 rpm [when warmed up]. The compliance sticker says it should be 650rpm and so does the japanese [OEM] sticker in the engine bay. Supposed to be 650 @ 15 degrees BTDC. Just wondering what other r34 [turbo] owners cars are idling at? I can adjust it of course but it seems a bit low and sounds a bit low too [@ 650]? Thanks!
