  5. Mates...here's a good trick to try. Get a Toyota GT1 or a Nissan R390. Or any other powerful car with front and rear wings. Then set the car up as follows:
  6. I've got a tiptronic and I agree they are inferior to manuals. I guess I'll just have to pump up more power into the engine.
  7. It is simply impossible to get done by a 97 Verada. I know because I've owned one for 3 years. Stock Veradas sprint to 100 kph in the high 8's. Unbelievable!
  8. Thanks all, One stupid question though as I am not really automotive literate...how do you exactly reset the ecu?
  9. Hey Guys, I need your help... In Jan of this year, I had my stock R34 (auto) dynoed. Output was 134 kw at the wheels. Seemed pretty standard. Today I had it dynoed again to find out what gains have been achieved after the following mods: HKS dump pipe ($576) HKS front pipe ($300+) High Flow Cat ($200+) 3.5 HKS Cat Back ($900 second hand) K&N panel filter ($126) Turbosmart Dual Stage Boost Controller ($270+) The result...nil gains at all. We were trying to come up with the optimum boost setting. The stock boost reading on the dyno indicated between approx 6.9 to 7.2 psi. Air fuel mixture read 10.0. When the boost was increased to 8 psi, power suddenly dropped to less than 100 kw. I've spent close to $2,500 so far. Could someone please point me in the right direction. What could have gone wrong?
  10. Summoner, I have full respect for you. Commodores appeal to certain types of people with certain needs. Skylines appeal to people with other needs. As long as people find fulfillment in whatever choices they make, that should be enough. Let us also be careful with the "factual" information that we post. It may reflect on us.
  11. My dream car...the new Ferrari Enzo. 0-100 kms in 3.6 and 0-400 in 11.9 stock.
  12. licence fully intact from day 1 (1992)
  13. Just a suggestion for Munro... Why don't you arrange for a photo shoot of a HSV towing your GTR. Then post it to LS1.com
  14. Welcome AkEaKe, It's good to hear form someone in another part of the world. You have chosen well. The skyline is the 'god' of all cars.
  15. I have a spare key that does not have the chip inside it (I find the main key too bulky). It starts the engine. I'm pretty sure you can just have it cut the usual way. You will also note that a lot of Jap import shops sell those fancy Nismo or GTR blank keys.
  16. I've read an article on them. Seems pretty credible. I'd like to know if anyone's done it.
  17. Sir, you are a legend
  18. yes ss8 that's where i got it from. i just re-formatted images in .doc form for easier printing. ec
  19. Hey all, I won't take credit for it. I just chanced upon this one on the internet. I'll try to research on R33 specs. By the way, I love all Skylines! They're all of the same bloodline.
  20. I drive an auto:( The manual is definitely the torquier of the two (363 Nm against 333Nm). Therefore, your car is better.
  21. To the Possum's family, In case anyone of you just happen to browse through SAU... You all are in my thoughts and prayers. EC
  22. Sorry again I think the file might just be too big. Please disregard this post!
