For those of you with facebook here's the runs from the night. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1972702192992389&id=1462850017310945 Insurance is due next week, currently with shannons. They want $1120 for 15k cover, got an online quote from aami and it was $750 for 16.2k. Called NRMA Vintage and they said they don't insure skylines It's a bit more exy for me cause I'm under 25. Who's everyone with? -

Heaps of people launch off trans brake with drag radials. First time out with worn tyres couldn't really push more or it blew tyres off haha... Gonna try get some 15s with 255/60r15 street R's and should hook a lot better off the line. -

So last night was a decent night out, got lots of runs and not bad figures considering. Had good consistency over the night, had a few passes. Turbos maxed out and hitting 63* by 3/4 track and pulling my top end down. Car still has the MPH which is awesome, just need to get that 60ft down. Launching at 4k off the transbrake is solid but only 1.7 60fts, anymore the tyres would just blow off cause it was launching at full boost (20psi). Ultimately theres time left in this setup, but I don't think I'm going to bother with it. Gonna look at a 35r or PTE 66mm to fix the IATs and push a bit more power through it. I'll run it at roll racing on the 3rd and then pull the box and send the converter off to get setup for my car. -

And you cant do the nuts up more? That's so strange... Lmao idk what mine is, some cheap chinese one i'm assuming. Will be upgrading to a plazmaman 100mm down the track though. ATR45 should boogie, I punched out my cat when I did my cams to free up some flow on my 3" exhaust. Hasn't everyone agreed that return coolers are shit haha? Can't remember what Tao recommends for a good budget cooler. And yeah BB upgrade will give better response. -

Hey they're 255/50r16, which are shagged already Gonna take it out tomorrow night for a final run at the strip and see what we can do. Weathers been terrible this week but hopefully tomorrow's ok. If we manage to crack a 10 then tyres will be binned and turbo setup will be coming off and sold being replaced by something bigger (not a 6466) 8) -

I think putting bushes then pineapples defeats the purpose of doing either one doesnt it? Ive got bushes and it seems fine, except my subframe isnt central What setup are you running atm? I'll be selling my complete hotside (turbo, manifold, gate, custom dump and exhaust) soon if youre interested? And GTR wheels aren't too bad if your subframe is straight haha, mine scrubs on the guard on one side. I had mine all adjusted at squat and camber pushed out close to the guards. Ended up with -1.3* at squat and like -0.3* no load. Gotta add maybe another half degree of neg so it doesnt scrub. -

Few shots from the track as well. So the plan atm is to run it down the strip and see what she does with this setup. Hopefully run a 10 so I can pull this turbo off and replace my hot side with a totally new setup. Looking at a PTE 6466 Gen2 CEA 1.0 rear on a CRG T4 Twin scroll manifold with a 45mm single gate, 4" dump with a 3.5" behind that. We'll wind it up to 480-500whp through the auto and leave it there while I build a 25/30. Once the motors built upgrade injectors to xspurt 1550s with twin 460s feeding them and wind it up to 500rwkw+. -

Been pissing down in Brissy, so drags got cancelled and roll racing got cancelled so I got a ticket to happy laps on Sunday to go and test it all out! Powerglide is sick and it just hooks up now with the mickeys and stock suspension. Couldn't fault it except I could use a little more power ? Heres a quick vid from yesterday. -
Go a GTX3076R so you have room to move when you get itchy for more power. My GT3076r has been on 440whp for a year and 500whp for 6 months, not one drop of oil in my catch can.

Here's a little pic of how she sits atm. Doesn't look bad with stock height. Mickeys fill the guards well though. Need to get a speedo module to adjust my speedo as it's about double the speed ? Changing the front shock this arvo as it pissed out all the fluid and then off for a wheel alignment Friday arvo ready for roll racing Saturday night if its not raining. -

Once I build a motor ? Here's the dyno sheet, torque drops big time but peak is early! -

So through her on the dyno for a touch up yesterday. Went 444.9whp so about 12% loss. Also found out my front left shock is dead, pissed out fluid everywhere so I've found a set of second hand shocks I'm gonna put my coils on. Thing squats so well now with stock suspension. Through the mickeys back on yesterday arvo and took it for a quick spin and holy shit.... It hooks up and pulls. Havent really found a place to give it a good pull though. Once I change suspension it will be going in for a wheel alignment to get it all on point. Should hook up even better once thats done and maybe even on my 18s.. We tried adding in more boost but power didn't change, tuner thinks maybe throttle body is limitting it but heaps of people have made more power with stock throttle body. Thinking about putting a turbo on that will work well with the new setup I want to build and also wind a little more in now. Thinking about going for a GTW3884R 64mm, thoughts?? -

So it's all done now 8) picked up my old tailshaft and installed the rear half and got the brackets and stuff all in. Car feels good, going in for a retune this arvo to make sure its still all good. I'll throw my mickeys back on after dyno and see how much better it will pull when it's hooking up 8) It bakes low gear with my 18s. Here's tailshaft difference. And what you all really want to see.... Short shifted 1st as it was spinning so it bogged a bit in 2nd. Will get a good vid with mickeys on! -

Hehe that should be a given No cage on the horizon at this stage. I want to keep it a street car, and no point as only need cage for sub 10 seconds. When I build a new setup I'll run a sub 10 and go from there. I don't wanna get roped into the time game as it starts getting really expensive after that hahah! -

So wiring is all good... Found out my neutral/park switch is broken, little button is gone hence why it's not closing in neutral/park... So I'll get one of those expressed up on Monday. Found out I had to bring my cable from the engine back with this shifter so I had to make up a new bracket and use the original cable my shifter came with.... Bit annoying but oh well. Gonna have to plumb the screamer back up so I don't melt the cable ? Cleaned it up and added in some extra support so it doesn't flap around. Not bad for a sparky ? And finally made up the clutch cover.... It's not symmetrical or anything but idc, it covers the hole and won't even really be able to see it with everything back in. Happy with the progress today! Not much to go now, everythings wired up, brackets are all made (painting tomorrow). Hopefully pick up my non abs tailshaft tomorrow and fit the rear half on and it all fits up nicely. Then just put brake pedal back in and I'll try and put my inner guard back on with some trimming to fit around the cooler/fan. -

Wired my transbrake and trans cooler fan in yesterday. Also wired in my park/neutral switch but is not working for some reason, so I'll have to have a look at that so I can start the bloody thing ? Not much left to go now! Also found out that abs and non abs tailshafts differ.... I'm getting my old rear half back tomorrow and putting it in and that should sort my tailshaft issue. Couple pics of the wiring, cleaned it up and made it look a bit nicer. Ran it with my flex sensor wiring and then hid it from there, can't even notice it. So what's left now is to sort out my starter wiring, put a new plug onto the loom for speed sensor, change tailshaft, adjust my shifter cable, make up the cover plate and install my booster/pedal. -

So my new cable and bracket came today. Fit it all up and put my tailshaft in only to find that it's 15-20mm too short... So I'll have to take it down to get a new front shaft made up, hopefully before next saturday for roll racing. Fit up my dipstick bracket, came up alright. Should look better once everything else in the bay is back in. Tomorrow I'm going to make the clutch master cover and finish up some wiring. -

So box is now in and converter bolted on. Ordered a shorter shifter cable as the one that comes with it is 8ft... Picked up the 90s for the cooler and plumbed all that up and made a bracket for the fluid checker. It's been primed now so will give it a couple coats of black today after work. Still have to make clutch hole cover.... Started wiring the fan and also transbrake. Decided to keep it nice and tidy and just mount them in the fuse box. They're 1/2 complete. Just have to run an ignition feed back to them (probably just run 1 and loop off it) and also a battery feed (loop off other relays) and then a return wire to power the transbrake. I need to throw the tailshaft in and see how it fits with the shifter cable. Only realised it was coming out ontop of it when I put it in. Few bolts on the gearbox cover/protector things and finish off the wiring and brackets. -

Little bit more progress this arvo! Got flex plate bolts and converter bolts sorted so I got the box in.... Until i realised the manual bolts are longer than the auto... So box is sitting there half way in, need to pick up some shorter bolts tomorrow and finish bolting her up. I'll aim to get it all bolted up, cooler lines on (I'm getting 90s instead of the 45s), and make up the clutch cover plate and my dip stick bracket. Then aim for wiring to be done Wednesday arvo. Little bit of dicking around but its doable. -

Little bit more progress yesterday. Finished painting the brackets and mounted the shifter and cooler. Both came up pretty good! I'm gonna see if I can trim the inner guard to fit back on with the cooler there to keep it stealthy. Also did a little bit of wiring. Put a plug on the box for the speedo drive, ran a cable from my neutral/park switch to under my dash, (does anyone know which one is the starter motor trigger wire?) And had a look at wiring my trans cooler can, can't seem to find 12v ignition in the engine back though, so I'll have to run a wire through there to engine bay fuse box and put a relay and fuse in there to keep it neat. I got 4/6 flexplate bolts so I'm going to go down to the boltshop after work and see if they have something to suit and hopefully I'll be able to get this box in finally... Still have to make a up couple more brackets for clutch master hole and also to mount the shifter cable onto the box. -

Box came today so went and picked it up I can't put it in yet as I need to get Flexplate bolts as the flywheel bolts are too long and also need converter bolts. So I did a few other things to get it all ready for when I put the box in. Made some brackets up to mount the trans cooler and also painted the tunnel cover and shifter bracket. None of my mates powerglides have a speedo sensor in theirs which is sweet, I'll be able to wire it in and have a working speedo And wire up this bad boy for the holeshot action -

My little red button turned up yesterday so got the shifter bracket/cover plate all made up. End up just using some 2mm mild steel i had kicking around. Lots of in and out measuring and marking things but this is how it looks. Gotta pull it back out clean it up and give it a couple coats of matte black. Should come up alright and not look out of place. While im painting it ill drill a hole in the tunnel for the cable and transbrake wiring. Also run wires from the park/neutral switch to the starter wire so it wont start in gear. Still waiting for the box to turn up so will be next week now. Should have everything ready to go by then and just be able to bolt the box in and get a touch up tune and a wheel alignment. Theres drags on wednesday but i think ill be pushing it a little bit to get it done by then.
