  1. Picked up a bunch of fittinga yesterday to finish plumbing the fuel system and sensor block and finished it all up this arvo. Went to put the crank sensor in after I finished shrinking it all up. There wasn't enough clearance to screw it back in with the SCL on the back so I had to cut it off and put another piece over, screw it in and then shrink it back down. Next up will be sorting the wiring back out 😴
  2. I'm pretty sure it's out of a falcon. I believe it comes as one (centre bearing and cv). I originally thought I'd have the stock centre bearing until I picked it up and they told me. They had a hard time finding something that would work with the stock setup.
  3. Yesterday I snuck out into the shed for an hour and pulled the boot wall out and cut up some carpet to glue on. Also glued the speaker pods together and let it all sit overnight with some weights on them. Went out today and glued the carpet around the sides and back and then started the driver side speaker mounting while I let it all dry. Started to tidy up the wiring back there and get it all ready for when I put a new battery in. Going to relug the surge tank wiring as it looks like I didn't use the right ring lugs 🤣 Some too big and some not big enough. Both speakers are now in, need to get some speaker wire and run it through the car and while I'm there I need to find where my rear wheelspeed sensor cable is sitting under the carpet 🤦‍♂️
  4. Couple more hours on her today. Mounted up the sensor block. Should look pretty neat once its all done. Wiring won't come out on the most ideal angle but I'll see what I can do. Decided to get back in and have a look at the speakers and crossovers. Got the driver side woofer ready to mount up, I just need to get some longer bolts. Cut the passenger side stock speaker mount up to get the door bin blocker on and made up some brackets to mount the crossovers. First one I wasn't happy with, so I changed angles for the second one which looks a lot better. Will see how it goes when it comes to wiring it up to see if it'll still clear alright.
  5. Picked my tailshaft up yesterday arv!! Test fit it and because they've gone to a ford centre bearing and CV I had to modify the mounting bracket a little bit. 5mm of each side and she went up into position and fits well. It has a 1350 uni and flange on the gearbox end so it should be plenty strong! Got stuck in this morning and started on the wiring mess. Cut out all the wires not required that go to the body connector and cut the engine harness out. Need to go through and work out which ones I need to keep and rewire into the new ecu. Should save a small amount of weight as well. I'd love to get in and rip the dash and everything out to completely remove wiring but cbf. Next up was the power harness for alternator, starter etc. It has a few connectors from factory that run out of it. Cut it all apart and removed what was no longer required and put some new corro and taped it all back up and bolted it all back into place. After that I worked out where I can mount the new flex sensor. Found a couple of factory bolt holes and drilled a new hole on the bracket to suit. Need to go get a few fittings and adapters tomorrow so I can keep going.
  6. Not too much has been going on these last couple of weeks. Have been flat out at work doing OT. Got the boot wall cut up a couple weeks ago. Still need to pull it back out and carpet it. Will run the carpet to overlap onto the factory mould on the RHS and probably use some velcro to stick them together. Been working on the harness this weekend. Bulkhead is terminated now and sleeved back to ecu. Need to wait for that and mount it up to get the correct length on the wires before terminating. Got a call last week saying my tailshaft was finally finished. Went to pick it up and they had a uni joint on the gearbox end at the measurement I gave them instead of a flange.... So they need to shorten it and fix that up. Hopefully not another 4 month wait...
  7. Got the other lines done today. It looks OK. The benders aren't the greatest things. Marks the tube up a little bit, but it'll do the job. Contemplating redoing a couple of them. Ill only get one shot as I stuffed up a couple already 🤣
  8. Injector pins came yesterday, got that wired straight up and heatshrunk the label down. Picked up my mates tube benders yesterday as well so I started them today. Decided to move the inline fuel filter to the boot to clean the bay up a little more. Will get the other lines in and then see if I can drop them down a little so they dont sit as high.
  9. Not sure tbh, both have pros and cons. 350z pedal pros - match stock pedals, bolt in, cheaper (2nd hand) cons - needs modding. Engine harness is almost finished now. Waiting on those new pins to finish the injector 4 connector, need a new knock sensor connector as it came out when I was trying to depin it and a flex sensor plug too. ECU is sold now so I can go ahead and order the new FuryX as well as a new Bosch LSU 4.9 and a flex fuel sensor. Work has ramped up now so I'm going to lose my afternoons or a Saturday to work on the car... Still got a fair bit to do, wiring, plumbing, fab, sound system etc. Will eventually get around to it 🤣😭
  10. Finally got a couple hours yesterday and got stuck into the injector harness. Went to plug them all in and one didnt seat. Pulled the pins out and Golebys sent me a wrong pin.... They'll be sending out new pins this week sometime. Did a little bit on it today. The connectors aren't bootable so I shrunk some SCL around the end of it which is just enough for the boot not to be able to pull off easily and makes it look 100x better. Need to get a couple hours and put it in the car and see where I need to crimp the 8way connectors and splice the powers in both and gnd in coilpack harness.
  11. Couple hours on the harness today. My boot and last couple of dtm connectors finally rocked up. 90⁰ boot looks awesome! Got the coil pack harness labelled and started pinning up a few connectors and sealing them up. Better have no issues with this harness for another 20 yrs 🤣 Away for the weekend doing work on my Uncles place so won't be any progress until next week
  12. Johnny said a new pedal will basically turn it into an M2. DBW throttle body requires a sensored pedal.
  13. Pulled the stock pedal out this arvo and bolted up the V35 pedal. It's not too bad, but definitely not the right angle of the dangle. I'm thinking a little tweak to the right and angle it down a bit more and it'll be sweet. Popped the engine harness in and got a couple of measurements for the coil packs and injectors. Got the coil pack harness all twisted up and terminated. Will finish sheathing it tomorrow and hopefully start splicing the 12V and GND.
  14. Didn't get anything done over the weekend unfortunately. But got stuck in today and got the woofer spacers all cut out. 2x18mm thick that I'll glue together for a little bit more rigidity and then give it a bit of a trim up to try and get them a bit nicer and more matched. Drilled the stock holes out and put some nutserts in and mounted one side up to see how it sits andddd the door card still fits. I believe it sits out about 6mm further than stock and it looked like you could come out further when I tried to look through the speaker grille. Did some measuring and the distance from the back of the stock speaker spacer to the mounting surface is 65mm. The new speaker depth is 70mm so it should sit out 1mm further than the back of the stock spacer which will clear the window coming down I ordered new injector, coil pack, dbw pedal connectors as well as a 90⁰ boot for the bulkhead connector. Should have them this week sometime then I can start making those up. In the meantime I'm gonna change pedals over and mount the 3 port pressure sensor block up next to the booster somewhere and I'll have to get some AN3 fittings and hose. Going to mount Oil, Coolant and MAP on it to get them off the engine and I'll leave the fuel pressure sensor on the reg. Still have to find somewhere to mount the trans thermostat, bolt up the ac pump and put the belt on. I had a quick look at the engine harness and forgot that I loomed it all up with the body wiring 😴😴 I'll have to pull it all out, cut the engine harness out and redo it to make it neat again.
  15. They both came up Mickey Mouse! Looking good mate
  16. Finished pinning up the bulkhead again this arvo and then popped out into the shed and decided to mount a tweeter. Got them secured into a good spot with @GTSBoy comment about cleaning/clearance. Unfortunately the woofers are pretty big and don't bolt into the stock pod so I will look at either modding them or maybe cut out some new ones from the MDF I got. Measured about 40mm of space ive got to work with to the door card so 2x18mm glued together should work out well.
  17. Haha thanks man, I wish I had more time to do it! Get maybe an hour or two in the arvos so I try and do little bits while I can haha. 🤣🤣 bulkhead was a c**t today... I had to depin it so I could put the last bit of heatshrink on. So tomorrow arvo will be spent pinning it back up, hopefully in the correct positions 🫣 My dbw pedal arrived today as well so over the weekend I might pull the stock one out and pop this in and see what adjustments I have to make to it. Will also look at pulling factory harness out and laying the new harness in and get lengths to start the injector and coil pack harnesses as well as changing a couple of connectors on the trigger sensors so I can boot/heatshrink them.
  18. Harness is slowly coming along. Should have the the bits and pieces I'm missing for it tomorrow and I'll be able to finish this part off. Need to order some new pins for injectors and coilpacks so I can make those sub harnesses. Dbw adapter arrived this week as well so I popped it on to see what it'll look like with the silver. I think I might get it anodised black. I'd like to do the TB as well but it's a pain in the ass to disassemble. I have ordered a 350z/V35 pedal which should also be here this week. I'll have to get a connector for that and I should be pretty much set to wire back to the ECU.
  19. Yeah I'll see how I go. Had a few tweeters on the triangles of other cars. These cups are a lot bigger though. Hard to see on the photos I took but there's a bit of space in there still. Harness is slowly coming along. Have terminated the bulkhead connector along with ignition and injector T offs. Need to get it into the car so I can work out lengths for the rest of the sensors and start terminating them. Have ordered some 3/4" Raychem to cover the first 300mm or so and also the required ecu connectors for the furyx so I can start making the other half of the harness. Ill get around to ripping out the old ecu and wiring at some stage as well and start looking at mounting a few relays and things down there to power the new setup.
  20. Will 99% be going to a fury x over the g4x plugin. Onboard wideband and dbw and I can finally f**k the factory butchered harness I made off haha and give her the harness she deserves 🤣 TB and a few bits and pieces rocked up. I'm just waiting on the TB adapter i'm hoping is today. Fkn its probably about 2mm off each hole compared to the Hypertune 90mm TB.... They should change their design and match it so it's an easier swap between the two.. I started terminating the bulkhead connector the other day. Have 8 wires left to terminate this arvo and then my splice crimps should arrive today as well so I can start the ign and inj looms. New Focals turned up yesterday as well. Can't wait to test them out! The tweeter cups are going to fit perfectly in behind the mirrors there.
  21. Laid the remaining wires onto the harness and got it all ready to be terminated. Will be branching off backwards for the injectors and coilpacks so I'm in for a bit of fun there crimping them all up. Waiting for my dtm crimpers to arrive with the rest of my DBW throttle and adapters I ordered which should be here tomorrow, then I can start sorting out the bulkhead connector and marking the wires to terminal letters.
  22. Forgot to mention I ordered some Focal PS 165 SF speakers for her which should be here this week. Will look at amps once the cars all running. Started planning and constructing a new engine harness yesterday to run a new ecu and the addition of DBW. Pretty much done the front of the engine. Just need to add ignition, injectors, oil temp sensor and might possibly add flex sensor as well.
  23. Haha I was just talking about it yesterday. The link g4+ isn't worth upgrading to dbw. If I do I'll go to a g4x plugin and get them to install it so I don't have to ship back and forth. Then I would be able to wire in my front and rear wheel speed sensors as well
  24. Nah he didn't so we will see how it goes 🫣
  25. Spent some time this morning wiring up the can and power to the dash as well as the can to the TCU. Put a few deutsch connectors in to make it easier to pull them out or move stuff out of the way. Jumped into the bay and got a couple of shit jobs out of the way. Got the heater hoses cleaned out and installed. Had just enough clearance to get the clamp in behind the head drain. The new gearbox setup has dropped the back of the engine down a bit which means I have to get the cold side refabbed as the front is now higher. Got the boost doc thermostat fitting in and shortened the heater hose down to suit which ticks another item off the list. Then I pulled the oil cooler lines and filter relocation off and gave them a clean and put them all back on ready to go. Engine grounds and alternator output is all bolted up. I think the intake side is almost done apart from fab. Just have to bolt the iacv back up, clean the fuel lines out and put them in and fuel rail and injectors in.
