my brother just brought a jza70 type r supra from yahoo. mmm, not that cheap when ya compare to other import brokers like prestige motorsport, imports101, meisei or jspec. my brothers car was $6500 uncomplied, very average condition, big dent in the drivers door, very worn seat, all bold tyres, a couple to metal, bit of rust, needs new paint job, f*cked exhaust etc...a bit of a lemon i look at prestige motorsport and they had a white jza70 type r for $8900 landed and complied, a bit more but in much better condtion. so i would personally get in contact with another company and try them first. if you dont want to have to spend a money on fixing things, it is still buyer be ware tho. i can send you some internet sites for other companys if you want

at the moment im just tryiing to source parts for my rebuild. i was told to look under the oil cap to see if has gone an a milky(iced coffee) colour as i have been told that is a sign that water is in the oil but i did that and it looks normal...i dunno, a rebuild should fix ot all, well i hope anyway!! cheers for the help so far guys.

well i started my engine today as i hadnt started it in 2-3 weeks, started fine, no noise or anything. just like normal. ran the car at idol until it had heated up to operating temp. noticed it was puffing out a bit of white smoke, put my hand over the exhaust and got a bit of a fuel small and a bit of moisture on my hand. then gave it a bit of a rev to see if there was any noise, none there at all. let it sit for a bit longer. came back and gave it a longer rev up, holding it at 4-4500rpm(point where load starts) and yet still with no knocking at all. i was thinking what the... then i let my foot off the accelerator and the revs drop to the point where it almost stalled/died but managed not to. and i noticed a smell i hadnt smelt before. turned the car off and started to check a few things and i noticed under my radiator cap that there was muck or oil around it! could any of these things be the cause of the knocking i originally got? why didnt it knock today? im a bit confused now. will this cost me even more to fix now? any help much appreciated guys, thanks!! how do you measure the width of wheels. the guy i got them off said they were 9.5' wide...i measured them and the are like 10.2'. im a bit confused. thanks for the help i have 2 on the rear of my 32gtr and the fill out the guards nicely, the guards are only a few mm wider than these wheels. looks nice!

gday mate what ya need to do mate is find a workshop that complies 15yo cars and they should take care of everthing for ya. i hav an 32gtr aswel but i didnt have it complied. my brother has just brought a 1990 jza70 supra and is in the same boat as you, needing compliance. i kno of a couple workshops: import complance centre(next to import spares) on sleaford road, winsor gardens pvp imports, muller road, hamsted gradens best enterprise, dry creek there are heaps more out there mate. i guess just ring a couple and suss out some prices they will do for ya. good luck with it all! james

at the mom i got around $5000...looking at saving as much as i can. i want to get 300kw at all four so i would like a decent rebuild. all forgies and n1 rings etc. not really wanting the engine to be bored, just honed. but see what happens, ill have to get what i can afford i guess.

does anyone have an idea of the kinda cost it will be??

i got my power fc the other day, not gonna fit it until i get my rebuild. anyways i see there is a plug for a boost controller. i was wondering where i can get one.

who much does it cost guys? i wouldnt mine going, just gotta watch the finances.

i think they fit a plate where the compliance plate is suppost to b say pritty much that you car has exemption from being fitted with a compliance plate...i think they are basicly checking that the car has been complied.

i work in a landscape supplys yard, i get to drive bobcats haha i dont mined that part of the job but im bored as with the rest of the stuff i do! im lookin at goin to mines. get my car done and then save heaps of cash!! so i got something ther for later on in my life. as i am only 20. so more i can save now better off later in life

whens you car go thro mate?? i got all my paper work for exempt from comp. the otha day, but them my bottom end went hahah so i wont b outting it thro for sometime now. just lucky that you have 12 monhs to get it thro

im lookin at jobs on mines hahah, so if i can get 1 then i will go the whole hog with the rebuild...if i cant get it i will just have to have the basics done!

thanks for the help mate!! i haev a couple mates that were mechanice(apprectices but they r fair good with their stuff) and yeah the 3 of them came up with bottom end of gungen pins...so looks like im afta a full rebuild as well!! mmm, oh well atleast it will b running really nice when its done and i will b able to continue with my misson of a fast gtr! thats for all the help guys, much appreciate it! next job to shop around and see if what kinda prices workshops(in adelaide) will do the rebyild for. and prices for lets say stronger inturnals.

also guys can ya (if ya have had a rb26 done) give me a idea of what kinda price im looking at. im not really wanting a full on rebuild, just 1 to get me thro, new pistons, rings and rods, and bearing of course...not really after much more than that

is nisspeed at modbury? i was thinking turbo tune or willall racing(the gtr guy)
