  1. hey guys i have my new wheels, and ready to drop the r33, and have a much firmer ride. im also keen to swap ya if ya want a set of kyb hill climb suspension with king springs, in good condition. Any news let us know Im in Brisbane Thanks
  2. yeah i thought that the xr6t were 1.06, but yeah who knows could of been swapped. unsure what happened. just hope it doesnt do anything stupid. i know i shouldnt be asking this but i have seen alot of ppl making over 300rwkws with these, with just cams and fuel mods and ECU etc. What would be a suitable boost pressure to run through it and still be safe, and safe for the engine. (whats the limit)
  3. Hey guys just letting ya know, that this turbo is on its way and going on my car soonish. Along with Tomei 1.5mm Head Gasket and Arp Head Studs Tomei Poncams I know its going to be laggy, but it sure is going to be fun when it hits full boost. I chose this turbo as it was cheap and have heard a number of ppl whacking out some good figures. I have at the moment on the car: PFC, AVCR, FMIC, Nismo FPR, 555cc Inj, Z32 AFM, Split custom dump to car for the gt3540. 3" Exhaust(removed 2nd muffler) Hiflow Cat. Without getting into internal engine work, would there be anything else that i could consider to put on, that will help to make the car reliable, stronger and better to drive (Less Lag)?? The gt3540 turbo is off the XR6T and has the .84 rear housing. I did ring GCG and ya can swap it for a .63 housing but the .63 housing costs 750. And im like noooo thanks. So i will see how this goes.
  4. Hi i am chasing the above also looking at tomei cams 256/264, i have seen them for 860 so if anyone has spares or whateva. if anyone can help i'll have cash next week, Thanks Barret Also i am in brisbane
  5. i will be installing a gt3540r .84 rear, on my r33 gtst soonish, so i will be able to give some more info as to how it goes. My previous turbo was a r33 hiflow plain bearing, on 18psi made 237rwkw, so the gt3540r im guessin is going to be fun haha. could possibly run into a tree, but i will let ya know when i head out. i have on the car at the moment: PFC AVCR FMIC Walbro fuel pump, fuel reg, 555cc inj Z32 afm pod filter so i'll see how it goes, i know it will be laggy, but shit when it hits 4400rpm, wooohooo shake and bake. I am considering cams later on, if my car doesnt blow in the meantime, but if it does blow then obviously a whole heap of other stuff. let yas know what happens.
  6. have you got any pics of the t61? is it low mounted manifold? External or internal gated turbo?
  7. but the option you have with a gt3071 is you can get close to 300rwkw without a gcg hiflow running close to its efficiency. Cause like most of us you'll hit 270rwkw, sit on that for a while, then you'll want to go more. But yeah gcg hiflow would be a good option if you were only goin to get close to 270rwkw and thats it.
  8. im looking at the one with the .82 rear housing the one that did 270rwkw was a .82 rear im pretty sure.
  9. gt3071 I have been reading posts of the install that Nabil did on his r33 237rwkw on like 13psi Also im pretty sure r31nismoid, had similar turbo made aroun 270rwkw on 17psi boost start spooling at 3000 full boost at 3950 ( quote from nabil) im looking at the same turbo, with the .82 rear housing, which i should be buying in a couple of weeks Only other thing im looking at after turbo install will be cams. But yeah cant wait. I have been looking at a fair few turbos, and this one seems to be the go'er, sounds like an all rounder.
  10. im guessing these turbos arent internal gated ?
  11. Hey guys im still on the market for a new turbo for my car im looking at making roughly 400hp, and willing to spend $1500 i dont want to go to highmount want to keep everything lookin fairly standard. And also dont want to go external wastegate. Thanks pm me if you have any info,
  12. yeah stock turbos with the ceramic compressor wheels arent much good after 14psi. but this one has been hiflowed and has steel wheels, so it can handle more boost, max is about 18psi. Also the wheels in this hiflow are bigger then a stock turbo.
  13. yeah disregard my thing about bearing type haha!!
  14. t3 flange its ya r33 gtst turbo with the bigger steel wheels
  15. also makes a difference into what bearings are put in, plain bearing or ball obviously ball bearing will spin more easily less friction less heat more psi. But does cost a fair bit for a hiflow to be done ball bearing. looks like $1750 is the going price. Then ya have plain bearing, doesn't cost as much, they are rebuildable, can't handle as much boost as a ball bearing would. But my hiflow plain bearing did 320rwhp on 16psi, and turbo is still in great condition. Then theres the other factor as to what size wheels are being put into the turbo. As my hiflow apperantly has a compressor wheel off a isuzu truck which is slightly bigger then the wheels that are normally put into hiflows. Anyway depending on how much ya wanting to spend but if you were thinkin of going a ball bearing option for nearly 2000. I would suggest going aftermarket, and spend a little extra on fabricating dump and gettin new oil and water lines. Thats what im doing getting a gt3071r + oil and water lines+ spacer plate for roughly around 2300, and prtty sure that would get ya closer to 300rwkw or more, then a hiflow would.
  16. i have been told this with my setup that the turbo was producing too much air forcing air through to my afm. causing more fuel and hesitation. Apperantly only way to fix it (from what i have been told) is if ya get a computer that has an inbuilt map sensor, or move the afm to another location before the TPS. Bit of farkin around but if thats what has to be done, then thats it. Im upgrading turbo anyway so i'll deal with it when time comes.
  17. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...p;rd=1&rd=1 Now on ebay whacky doo!!! shake and bake!!!
  18. do you know if the gtr rods and crank fit in a r33 gtst
  19. im actually going to put the turbo on ebay, so it will be up in a couple of days its only done about 3000kms turbo australia had done the hiflow orginially, and i had it also cleaned rebalanced, changed bushes and 270 thrust bearing put in.
  20. price drop to 650 yesterday have taken it to turbo australia have it checked, and josh has said that everything looks good, and in great condition.
  21. Hi considering selling my hiflow turbo i have since had it rebalanced and cleaned by turbo australia recorded a 320rwhp on dyno very minimal shaft play, but as i have been told plain bearing turbos require a ver minor of play for the oil to lubricate the wheels. the play is still the same as it was from when it came back from turbo australia. Very good condition turbo, no noises, no leaks, nothing wrong with it. only reason for selling is saving up for a gt30r turbo. any offers above $700
  22. i spotted couple of days ago 4MYSIN, r33 GTST white with a gtr badge. i hope it goes like a gtr, cause its a bit of a shame if it doesnt,
  23. Hi still up for a turbo for my r33 gtst willing to spend up to 1200, has to be ball bearing. And also internal wastegate. Any help please pm me Thanks
  24. can these fitted to a r33 gtst?
