Evo calipers on 34R
l0ckym replied to No Crust Racing's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Seduced by the big calipers on the Evo X on the weekend? Do you have trouble pulling up now - or just want to fill the wheel-well a bit more? I have to say, the brembos on mine never fill me with confidence...not compared to my old bugeye wrx sti anyway..Feel like I have to really stamp on them for anything to happen, and not a lot of feel...wooden feeling - but they do seem to stop...so maybe its in my head. Could just be shitty pads for me too.. Apart from Evo X - R35 brakes are an option too I think..but not sure on master cylinder requirements/changes either.- 40 replies

Me, Hoon....never

Yep - I filled it with Shell 98 on the way out and less than 1/8th of a tank left. Haven't refilled to verify- but given it takes a bit over 60L - 50L is what I would expect. I was probably working harder in the rev range to keep up....
-
I used 50L on Saturday on 98 (150kms).... Used a lot of 3rd gear (5-6K rpm up and over the hill and back)...
-
I work in the same field, make 6 figures - and live in country VIC.....you're looking in the wrong spot.

Should move tomorrow - then you can afford "all the GTR's"...<insert evil laugh>...

It's not for every job - but retail is everywhere. Don't need to be in a cbd to do that - unless you are selling 'Welcome to Melbourne" pamphlets...

All quality of life in the end. Stressing about a $5k/month mortgage - every month for the next 30yrs doesn't appeal. Plus I can spend more time with the kids, and we can afford for the wife to be part time. Each to their own.
-
Yep - not sure what the city offers other than 10000 coffee shop's - which to be honest- you probably only go to 2-3. Footy, concerts - meh - better on tv. Winton 1hr Sth, Wakefield 4hrs north, deca Wodonga 20mins - snow 1.5hrs, river, lake, world class road & MTB routes, motorcyclist (& hence GTR) heaven. $500k would get you a mansion around these parts.

Plus some of the REX hosties are hotties

Depends - 8hrs of meetings or 3hrs of meetings - if your rate is like mine - the time gained pays for itself. You would t do it everyday - even once a week could be worked into a package if you can negotiate your contract

Anything from$150 - $300 depending on when you book. There is a 6:50am flight gets you into Tulla about 7:40 once you deal with the airport stuff. Taxi $50 or skybus into cbd by 9am ...
-
CBD centric is old school. Heck I live in Albury/Wodonga- and work for a multinational FMCG as an Asia-PAC manager. I travel all over the world from here. Melbs is a 35min flight/3hr drive, Sydney is 1hr flight, Canberra is a 3hr drive (with international airport servicing Singapore)... I have a 1000m2 block, 5 bedroom house - with views over town - only cost a smidge over $300k. 10mins from the office - travel 10x a year...have zero desire to work in any cbd. Probably earn more than most cbd jobs in my IT field as well (I'm not a specialist).. Got me buggered why everyone wants a $900k mortgage...
