  1. Oh awesome. I think its that little hose under the blue broom handle.
  2. Morning all. Just gearing up for work.
  3. nah, it's too dark. Work on the car will resume on Tuesday.
  4. I'll give it a go. Going to remove the rocker cover for more space.
  5. Turboed - Did you tackle this from under the car or on top? I think if I remove the rocker cover I'll be able to access this hose, but based on googling around I think a lot more people go the underneath route?
  6. my week begins tomorrow.
  7. Im pretty sure I have one of those. I nearly got it off with some bent nose pliers.
  8. Update: I can reach the hose with my fingers but lack the manpower to de-clamp and remove. I was able to get in there with pliers, but my handles are just a couple mm too large to grab both sides of the clamp.
  9. I'm not complaining, I value the educational experience. any advice? approach from under the engine or above? I was reading somewhere that removing the starter motor gives you more access?
  10. Yeah, not many 4 door R33 GTST's out there with a manual transmission. Don't worry, I'll fix that problem eventually, right now I need to get this car registered. Besides - Auto's win races
  11. I'll upload two more photos in an attempt to show where it is, in one of the photos of can clearly see it gushing out coolant. It's at the rear of the motor, just behind the rocker cover underneath another pipe. http://imgur.com/a/bTzuJ
  12. needle nose pliers might do the trick...
  13. the car is running perfectly (aside from the leak), but it's unregistered so I can't get it down to bunbury. I can nearly reach the hose with my fingers from the top of the engine, they're just not long enough. That being said, I don't have the know-how to remove all of that stuff, and it sounds near impossible to do in my drive way.... hmm. Will most likely look into it tomorrow when the sun is up and come up with a plan. If anyone is in the Forrestfield Area with the know-how and feel like helping, hit me up so can plan this better.
  14. The Car is definitely mine then, sliced my finger today cleaning around some rough plastics.
  15. I saw that breakdown but it's all moon-speak to me. I've read a few threads on coolant leaks in that general area, and it looks like it's going to be a bigger job than it looks, a real knuckle scraper.
  16. huge photo is huge, but yes, that's the hose causing all the trouble, it's just out of reach from the top. I'm going to replace it with a silicon hose, but I'm not sure what size I need, and how to remove it.
  17. i dont know how! ahaha
  18. It's a split hose!!! I found the leak. The question is, how do I change this hose? I'll put some photos here. It's a very small, short hose at the rear center of the engine. Any one know which hose this is and the best way of tackling it? (from underneath or above?, tips?) http://imgur.com/a/OkvpU imgur flipped the photo, no idea why.
  19. Damn it, Just about to Jack up the Car and the rain comes back ... Go Away Rain, I'm pretending to know what i'm doing and you're not helping. Actually, Hank, you do suspension work right? If you're ever in the Forrestfield/Wattle Grove area, the previous owner apparently had the suspension on the car "raised" to get it to pass the pits, but it's higher at the back, lower at the front. He had all the work done by pedders, I'd love to get your thoughts on what they've done. Also, I want coil overs. Will wash cars for coil overs
  20. Hank, come over and fix either my gauges or coolant leak and i'll clean your RX-7 (because I love RX-7's)
  21. Maguires Trim Polish & Protect. It soaks into the plastics, takes a lot of elbow grease. It's also water resistant so we'll see how it holds. Am very happy with the results.
  22. Ok, so after successfully removing the interior from the car, and cleaning it all, I also did a quick plastic restoration on some of the older bits, that had lost their colour and changed to a chalky white. Here's a quick little before and semi-after. http://imgur.com/a/jYMkw All that is left to do now is remove the rear tint (bubbly and gross), Fix the Coolant leak, Mesh the front grill , fix my tachometer and brace my Pod Filter down. Once that's done, I'll take it over the pits and see what they find/complain about.
  23. Morning all!. Up bright and early planning out todays work which if the weather lets up will involve removing rear tint, cleaning rear seats and carpets in car (any tips on getting sand out of this stuff?) and if time permits, washing the exterior. A friend of mine told me he'd be coming around this arvo to look at the tachometer but that's a 50/50 at best. I have access to the rest of my tools, which means I can finally Jack up the car!!!. I'm mentally preparing myself for that, as i've been told the RB25's are real tight at the back (Just like z00key). Also, yeah, the quality of work done on z00key's car was just heartbreaking to see, could have done a better job with cable ties.
  24. Picked up a heat gun today!. That means bubbly crap tint comes off tomorrow!
  25. Picked up an extra shift at work tomorrow (More $$ for the Car )
