  1. Dam. Thanks for the info guys. The hunt continues
  2. I picked up an auto S1 that has some gashed stocky wheels, with tyres that are down to the belts. I'm budgeting for new wheels and tyres so that I can pick the specs, but I found a pretty solid deal on some rota drift teks with tyres. While these arem't the wheels I really wanted, they will pass a roadworthy, and keep some coin in my pocket for suspension parts. Wheels are 17x9.5 with a zero offset squared. tyres 225/45
  3. Never heard of 75% of those, thanks!!
  4. Really? No ones got a site for genuine parts for this stuff??
  5. Catchy title got you - It's not time to rebuild the engine like you may have figured, but rather everything else. I picked up a series 1 auto for pennies since it needs all the suspension, and some steering components replaced. Bit of a job, but not necessarily why I'm starting this thread. The car, surprisingly, didn't have any maintenance history. You know what that means! Replace all the things! I'm new to Australia, so I'm not sure where the best deals are for this stuff are. I'm pretty sure I have the suspension all sorted out, but as far as acc belts, timing belt kit, water pump, water pump seal goop, and spark plug online suppliers go, I'm pretty lost. I've seen some ebay listings as low as $200 for complete kits inc. water pump, and then I've seen kits locally (gold coast) with all the same stuff for $600. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Unless someone here just so happens to have all of this BNIB at home, then I'll buy yours. Cheers. Before anyone mentions how I should swap the manual trans in, I will, in due time. It's certainly shitty seeing a swap in the classifieds going for $1100 right now.
  6. We talking R33 or stagea? I'm not paying attention to what's listed in OP's signature since it's not always a reliable source of up-to-date information
  7. series 2 had the neo motor. Neos have ignitors built into each coilpack.
  8. the car has 250,000k on it. It'll require more than just a timing belt haha. Thanks for the info though! I'll be sure to check those places out and see what they charge!
  9. I'm bringing this post back from the dead since no ones likes multiple threads asking the same question. Looking at picking up a stagea, and I need someone to go over this car and find everything that's wrong with it. Hidden rust, gauge age of timing belt, look at suspension bushings, leak down test on the motor, etc. A full comprehensive inspection. I've seen the exterior of the car, and it is not mint. Makes me hesitant to believe that it runs "mint"as the current owner says. I'm located in Currumbin, but the car is in Tweed. Apparently it has rego until december, so traveling to a shop shouldn't be an issue. What are your guys' suggestions? Shops that have employees who own stageas take the first spot, obviously.
  10. Posted in the correct section. Feel free to lock this.
  11. tried to edit my post, but it won't let me. I don't have permission to? Anyways, he's in armadale. Close by?
  12. Link: http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/west-perth/cars-vans-utes/1996-nissan-stagea-wagon-gtr-front-end/1110153154 The car doesn't look mint, so I'm not expecting it to be worth $10,000 haha I'm not sure on his exact location, but I'm in communication with the guy. I'll get back to you
  13. Hey mates I live in QLD, and on the hunt for a R34 front end stagea. One has popped up on gumtree, but it's located in perth. I'm hoping that there is a mobile mechanic who can do a solid check on it and shoot me back some details. Not expecting anyone to do this for free. I'll the rates Cheers!
  14. Trying to see if there are any mobile mechanics, or mechanics willing to travel a bit could check a car out for me over in Perth. I'm in QLD, but want someone who can do a proper check over for me before I send the seller any cash. I'm more than happy to pay the hourly rate for however long it takes to do the job properly. Money better spent learning about flaws before hand! If your company had a website or something I should contact you through, no worries just leave a link or something!
  15. Thanks for the input guys. I wont treat this sale as one from a dealership, so no worries there. I've read reviews about lee on the internet and am fully aware about his ways. With that said, if any of you are considering selling a series 2 with the r34 front end and 5 speed, let me know. Keeping money within communities is always priority one. Just so happens nothing else is available.
  16. You would think the NSW government would be on top of that if they had him shut his doors.
  17. For **** sakes. Don't hit the delete button on the keyboard, otherwise your entire reply will get deleted Sorry about the link. I'll see if the one for his actual website works better Try this? http://www.edwardlees.com.au/Vehicle/nissan-stagea-wagon-1999-25416 As for the ODO tampering, google told me about that before I decided to check it out. Import papers show it came in with 110,xxx kilmoters, car currently has 107,xxx kilometers, he's had it for roughly a year, so I'm guessing he rolled it back to 100,000. To compound the shady practice, he tried to sweeten the deal with a full 3 year comprehensive warranty if i bought the car that day. Seemed too good to be true, so i googled the company and read all the fine print. Insurance company requires vehicles to be less than 10 years old, bone stock with no modifications, and serviced by a profession mechanic every 5000 kilometers. So, yeah cool, thanks for the warranty, but it's void as soon as the is driven off his lot... Yeah, i could do a R34 conversion myself, except I just don't want to tackle the project size to be honest. I've done two skylines back in Canada, and I just don't want to deal with it haha. Looking for one with the work already completed. Is there any more information about him going completely out of business? The most I could find is that he's in a battle with the NSW government. A battle I don't see him winning, but nothing that says he will be closing his doors this year.
  18. Alright, before you flame this post, here me out. I've been searching for a series 2 with an R34 front end for a while now, and it seems the only one readily available is this one.. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/burwood/cars-vans-utes/1999-nissan-stagea-masa-gt-r-r34-orange-manual-wagon/1110204504 I've read the reviews and I'm aware the guy who owns the shop is scummy. I'm not doubting this. This car in question was in fact a demo car from MASA over in japan. I've driven it and it's smooth. The R34 seats a little low, but nothing I can do about that. I have the owner fella, phil?, agreeing to take it to a shop of MY picking for a third party inspection. He is that confident that it will come out in great health. He even has a copy of the original export papers that show the mileage very close to what the car currently sits at (super rare to find with this seller the internet tells me). We have a price on $16,000 for it. I'm from BC, canada and that price is pretty steep for an R34 converted stagea, however, from my search over here, I'm finding it could actually be a good deal. Thoughts? I'm open to hear both sides of the fence any of you sit on.
