Im about to swap a hypergear r34 highflow into my 33 gtst. Ive looked in the hypergear thread for info but there is so much information and i cant really find anything on installation. I just want to know what to look out for, what parts i will need and should i be replacing the turbo and manifold gaskets? And if anyone can link me to info or a tutorial that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Its not overly loud, but you can definitely hear it. Does the loud 040 get annoying or is it ok?

Yeah i will never go there again. I usually do everything myself and always have a go, but in this case i was impatient and just wanted the car to run right again.I only took his word for it, the car hasnt had any issues since and i notice the fuel pump is more audible. I live in melbourne western suburbs. I was planning on getting the car tuned at chequered tuning when i get everything together.

Yeah, im a massive idiot for letting him rip me off like that. He even lied and told me to use my petrol up so it would be easier for him to drop the fuel tank. Even though you dont need to to change the fuel pump!

Does anyone know what power level a gtr fuel pump (unsure which model gtr pump it is) in a r33 gtst will support up to? Would 250rwkw be fine? I think i got ripped off hard by a tuner when i first got my car, he took my new bosch 040 (I think) pump and said he put in a gtr pump instead, he said the bosch one was too big for 180rwkw. Plus he charged me $300

Pros: shifter feels slightly more precise and firm but not a big difference.Cons: tiny bit more vibration and noise transmitted. imo i would just stick with a nissan replacement bush

Bit off topic, can anyone explain to me why the r33 has the battery in the boot, whereas this wasnt carried over to the r34?

Imo any skyline has the potential to look nice with a few cosmetic changes. The worst thing about the r33 is the bootlid (i know you can buy flush ones). A flush bootlid with a modified gtr spoiler to suit would look awesome.

Would you say adaptronic is better than power fc? I have a power fc and z32 afm ready to go in but i have been suggested to sell the fc and get adaptronic instead. Is it worth it or should i just stick with the fc?

Also just to add as a sidenote. Removing a shifter with a brass bush can be kind of difficult as the brass bush can dig into the insert slightly. If this is the case and the gearstick wont pull out, give it a few sharp taps with a mallet and it will become free.

If you got no vice. With a fine tooth saw just cut around the old bush to weaken it then pull off with pliers.

Has anyone had this done to their paintwork? Or know a place in melbourne to get it done or can you apply it yourself? It says prices are around 850, i would consider doing it.

The line to the catch can is from the right rocker cover to catch can (non vented) then to the intake.

Thanks a lot guys, thats a good thing to hear if its a sign of a healthy engine. I just put the catch can in for preventative measure. The car is my daily and isnt tracked. I do go WOT every now and then but overall it isnt driven hard.

I was doing a minor service on my car and decided to check how much oil is in the catchcan but it was completely empty. The stainless steel kitchen scourers i put in smelt a bit like oil vapour but were not wet with oil. just wondering why there is no oil? have i set up the catch can properly or am i just a stooge?
