didn't notice the extra symbols on the LCD screen. I'll have another look after work. I was told that the last mode was to fine tune the temp by +/-3 degrees. Not sure on that...also the 41 when shown, air was blowing out I think. maybe testing the fans?

ok i just tried it. and I got into the diagnostic mode. here is what I found. when you turn the temp knob all the way to the coldest, it seems to be in "light + LCD test mode" as all the lights on the aircon unit light up and all the icons on the LCD are visible too. next if you turn the temp up slowly, I think 2 or 3 degrees up, you will get in to what I think is the sensor test as I received a 20 meaning no problems, you might receive a different number here NJR 34GTT since your aircon is playing up. the next few modes I have no idea what they are, they gave me a 5 and a 41 from memory.

have u tried this diagnostics method on the 34?

There is a light sensor up on the dash, it's a round circle. Then there is the cabin temp sensor which is to the left of the steering column.

If you're gonna sell it once it is fixed then just rebuild the thing. Might be better if you know exactly what needs replacing first and if you can still use the block?

I was under the impression ceffy's were light LOL... must be wrong. With stock turbo if you want it to live longer running 12psi is about as much as you'd want to push it. 34 GTT intercooler will handle this fine. They go for around $150 and are an easy upgrade.

I would rather stock 34 GTT cooler turbo back exhaust ECU aim for 180rwkw. The ceffy should be lighter than a skyline right?

does the exhaust temp gauge come with sensor? what size is the gauge? can you post pics?

any smaller cored ones?

SK, is it bad if the water temp is too low? say 70 for example.

mine never gets over 90. Have you tried putting in a lower thermostat?

can I ask what happened to your motor damage wise?

if it comes back again. pull over. turn the car off. turn the key to accessories. pop out the diagnostic port (under the pocket on right hand side of steering column) get paper clip. put it into the top right two sockets to short it (I think it's top right). it should then flash some codes to you.

UPDATE: the digidash works on a 34 GTT
