When's the May event running? Can't seem to find dates anywhere

yeh i think i'm goin goin to this with a mate. Was retired from the dance party scene but can't say to to free VIP tickets. Hopefully its good, i dont know any good DJs or anything at all...just goin for the hell of it. Wat names should i watch out for? I love the hard kandy/bubble style trance.

not exactly sure how high your argument is gonna be upheld...altho interestingly enough, i had to go to Melbourne Magistrates court couple weeks ago with a mate to accompany him to his driving case, and i couldn't help but notice that 90% of all cases that are now heard in court are all driving related, if not more. And i couldn't help thinking - our entire system has turned from one that upholds the course of justice amongst the ppl to one big revenue making machine that jumps pumps money out of the public for the most ridiculous of things. The police, courts and media seem to be there as the 'bells and whistles' to make all these charges 'official' and 'law abiding' but all it is, is one big hefty procedure to make it unquestionable and un-challengable its late, i can't sleep and i dunno if that makes any sense....MEH...

so what events are avaiable to compete in? I've only been to Easternats once and i know there's an 1/8mile drag and a lap cruise of sandown - what other events are there? And what requirements do you need to be able to drive in those events? thanks in advance

i think the biggest piece of advise i or anyone else here can offer you when it comes to the world of imports is - 'DONT RUSH ANYTHING' a car is a pretty big purchase, and an import requires lots of time and maintenance costs; the worst thing you could do is to make a snap decision and getting a 'lemon' or something thats gonna cost you more down the track. Dont be hasty with anything to do with imports, be patient, the car you want will come up that fits your budget and has everything you want on it. I was impatient when i purchased my car - exactly the same as you. And i regretted it so much for a year or two afterwards cos things kept breaking and i was always on the back foot financially. And as Adzmax says - u got insurance, rego, plus will probably need at least $1000 for RWC and other small things to get it running right. So yeah, just be patient, and something perfect will pop up. good luck mate **EDIT** - looking at the odo on the car, looks like it has been tampered with - see how the numbers don't line up correctly at all form the 7 backwards? they should all be dead straight apart from the last 2 numbers i'm pretty sure. Can anyone else confirm this?

i've only read the last few pages, and i see some very, very good responses and emails have been written. I agree wtih most of what is said, however one ting does come to mind: How many of us skyline owners here have illegal parts on their car? Even just something small, like a cooler + pod filter? And how many of us have lost our license even just once? Its all good to say that the majority of us are law-abiding citizens on the road, and we as enthusiasts should be seen as different to the morons out there who buys skylines cos they are the next VLT, but our entire argument and point could be tarnished if either of the above two questions are asked. I daresay 90% of us would not pass the pits or EPA. just something to think about i guess. Even tho them rules are bullsh*t, those looking at us as hoons would simply use that as their main argument that we don't care for the rules and just modify our cars outside the legal limits, and hence if we're gonna do that then we would ignore the road rules too... Sad, but unfortunately true.

i didn't have a CB radio so i didnt know what u guys were talking about. But myabe overtaking the slower cars to get to the wide, open stretch of road in front would have made for more fun than slowing and speeding up again? Doesn't matter mate, i know you just wanted to have a fang...i was just getting slightly annoyed behind you hence the crazy 5 car overtaking procedure. but all good from the looks of it everyone had alot of fun

so going by the above is it safe to say that the rb25 weights about 70 kg more than the rb20? Seeing as the difference in the rb20 & rb25 Sedans are 70kg?

the amount of days they give you to fix the car is entirely up to the cops discretion - my mate got given 24 hrs to remove his PFC, Pod filter and AVCR, which we all thought was a bit tight. And don't bother fighting it in court - its your word against the cops word, your mates words won't count for anything as they will be viewed as biased towards you. My lawyer said that 99.95% of cases against Vic Police go their way unless there's undisputable evidence. If magistrates started ruling against the cops, the cops would just stop doing their job and all hell would break loose. So yeah, sad to say but as aforementioned - just get the RWC, pay the fine and move on mate, best way to go about it
