Have all import approvals docs, including the auction report thing (if you can read Japanese!) Serviced 2 weeks ago, running smooth, no issues. Battery replaced about 12 months ago. No modifications, except turbo timer and alarm installed here in Adelaide. Small scuff on rear bumper and tint was damaged during compliance and will probably need replacing (I didn't bother). Hi all, Im about to take delivery of a new 33 and had some questions regarding wheels. Ive googled and searched here and found jack all regarding stock offsets and how to tell if wheels fit... Does anyone know the actual size/offset for a stock 33 gts-t? My guess would be 16x7 +40... but I cant seem to find anywhere to confirm it. Also the post with members wheels and whether they fit is very good, plus that offset calculator site is great, but it would be easier if someone knew the clearances between stock wheels and the suspension parts, so the offset calculator actually means something! The reason I ask, is I've seen some wheels I like, however the offset isnt as good as I wanted and would like to know if they will fit - 18x8.5 +40. Now using the calculator (based on 16x7 +40) these wheels will be 19mm LESS clearance to the strut housing. Fit, yes no??? is 19mm too much? anyone know a safe limit?? Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Finch

hey just found this thread, what a fantastic idea with the car-pc! i might add a couple of improvements tho, firstly you could get a USB 802.11b/g wireless card... you can get external antenae for them also to improve reception, hence eliminating the need to transfer files/data via a cd drive or usb key. Obviously secure it or disable it when you dont use it! next for those who are having issues booting off usb, you can buy things called Disc On Modules which are in effect, flash memory built into a 40-pin IDE connector. So you plug it into the HD connector and it should detect as a HD... havnt seen prices for anything larger than 128mb, but they say theyre available up to 1.5gb. Keep an eye out for them, they may be the next cool thing. As for speed with flash memory well there are pros/cons, most memory has extremely low latency (fast seek time) but transfer speeds are low compared to HD's. Also they have no moving parts. So would be great for opening/moving small files, but churn with large file copies etc. I've also heard of some ppl using mini-ITX boards with Compact Flash adapters onboard. Lots of modems/routers use this method for booting skeleton versions of Linux, but I cant see why Windows couldnt work. Compact Flash cards can be bought in sizes up to 3-4gb im fairly sure. Anyway nice work to those who have made them, got me motivated for when i look at stereos in my car

righto, just wondering about the strut clearance on the rears tho... at +35 my little calculator thing says its 27mm less clearance than stock. no chance of touching the suspension or other components? i'd prefer to have a most neutral offset possible (for obvious guard filling reasons)... i forgot to mention as well that it will have stock suspension to start with, but i'll invest in coilovers and lower it to whatever is acceptable. btw thanks for the quick response

Hi all, I'm expecting my R33 sedan shortly from japan and am currently looking at wheels to replace the stockers when it lands. I've had a good read of the sticky thread regarding width and offset so i just wanted to post my ideas and make sure there wont be any issues. 18x8 +28 front - 225/40 18x9 +30 rear - 255/35 i've used all the calculators on the net to make sure the clearances between the suspension is good and that rolling diameter of the wheel/tyre combo isnt too far off and this combo is what i came up with. according to the offset calculator, these wheels will extend 31mm and 42mm respectively f/r, and only be 7mm and 22mm into the strut housing from stock. and rolling diameter of the tyres is less than 1% more than standard... hehe sounds like overkill i know, but ive never bought wheels before and if im going to spend this much money i want to make sure it fits snugly. Appreciate any thoughts, suggestions, experiences. Cheers Finch
