Rb25det Neo - Code 21 & Cylinder 1 Dead
bistratoaie replied to syncade's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Turns out piston #6 had shat itself and got a little hole in it as fuel was just dumping into the sump, have done a rebuild with new forged pistons, rings, bearings etc and she's running beautifully. Ignition circuit also goes hand in hand with knock sensors I believe, I had an ignition fault code 21, and tried everything to sort it after buying new splitfires, spark plugs, coilpack harness, AFM all that jazz, turns out one of my knock sensors was crushed and that was my ignition problem solvered ☺️ -
Rb25det Neo - Code 21 & Cylinder 1 Dead

I seem to have the same problem and cylinder 6! Anyone got any solution? -
Bearing could be shot, that's what I had not long ago

RB25det Misfire/Boost Cut
bistratoaie replied to bistratoaie's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Didn't make sense to me either but it worked? the actuator is 10psi. I am thinking maybe a boost leak somewhere -
RB25det Misfire/Boost Cut
bistratoaie replied to bistratoaie's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Pretty sure it stays in #6. Injectors were cleaned and flow tested when head was removed, haven't done a comp test yet or leakdown, definitely need to do those! I'm 99% sure head gasket was put on correctly. Yeah I had that boost cut when I first put the actuator on, replaced spark plugs with 0.8mm instead of 1.1mm and coilpacks with 2nd hand splitfires, and had no boost cut issues after. -
Hey guys, its probably been discussed before but this is a new one for me ? I have a misfire/boost cut issue, not sure exactly what it is, list shows what's been replaced recently! New Series 2 AFM New BKR6E Spark Plugs (0.8MM) New Series 2 Splitfire Coilpacks New Coil Pack Harness Loom New RB20 10psi Actuator New Turbo Gasket Kit New Exhaust Manifold Gasket Kit New Intake Gasket Kit New Exhaust Gaskets New ARP Head Studs New 1.3MM MLSR Cometic Head Gasket New Gates Racing Timing Belt New TruFlow Water Pump OP6 Neo Turbo Aswell as New Xtreme HD Clutch just freshly installed. Seems to have developed a misfire think it was cylinder 6, taking it to a Skyline Specialist in a couple weeks, just seeing what else I could try on here first! ? Stock ECU atm, got a fresh Platinum Pro waiting to go in. Happy New Year ?

Hijacking an old thread! I've done the R32 actuator install and I get 10-12psi above 4k rpm with the solenoid in. What's the best way to remove the solenoid so I get the 10psi all the time?
-
Yeah I believe it is located in the engine bay fuse box! Haven't tested it yet but I do have another spare sitting in a rolling shell at home so I can replace it if it's dead! Will let you know how I go and if that solves the problem, cheers
-
@Mick so you think a relay could be gone? which one are you supposing? I have not checked the wiring myself as I'm not the best at electrical problems but if I can narrow it down to exactly what it is then I'll get my older bro to have a look seeing as he's an auto sparky

Trust me mate its slipping and seems like the clutch loses its grip! As a matter of fact, the revs drop about 150-200 rpm when the AC is on
-
Yes that's correct! It has some play in it and it's almost as if the clutch is being ridden which makes gear changes and takeoffs not so smooth as with the aircon off
-
My clutch slips/plays up when I turn my aircon on, the revs drop a little but my actual clutch doesn't engage or disengage properly and it's really pissing me off! I hardly ever use aircon but with summer here and the Perth heat, I might need it for them extra hot days! Anyone know what's causing this or how to fix it? I know it's not my clutch, I just installed an Exedy HD clutch about 2 weeks ago, cheers

Reviving an old thread LOL I recently did the RB20 wastegate actuator on my Series 2 R33. Worked a charm boost-wise, except had to weld a custom bracket to make the rod clear the turbo housing. Took her for a joyride, hit 12psi, then dropped back down to 10 and got that misfire under high rpm + high boost! So went to Repco and got me a set of BCPR6E (pre-gapped to 0.8mm) and took her for another test drive today and still got that same misfire under full load. I've checked my coilpacks as they are stock, and they seem fine, no cracks etc, had my older brother check them out a couple weeks back as he's an auto sparky and even he said they're doing their job! What should I do to eliminate that misfire stutter under full boost? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Here's my retrofit projectors!
-
Okay so I decided to install 2.5" Bi Xenon Projectors, COB LED RGB Angel Eyes & Red Devil Eyes in my Series 2...here's how I went. So here's the original headlight, looks pretty average, lens definitely needs a clean! Next up, heat gun set to 360c to heat the original glue in the headlight (took about 4-5 minutes until it was good to pull apart). Be careful when pulling it apart as too much pressure and force can snap the mounting tabs seeing as they are only plastic. Now that the lens is off, used an Etch Primer and Satin Matte Black paint from SupercheapAuto to paint the low beam reflector black as my shrouds for my projectors were black. Had to do a bit of cutting on the reflector to be able to fit the back of the projector where it screws in, also removing the little 'nubs' on the back of the reflector as they get in the way when trying to mount the projector. Then fit the projector inside, glue on the Angel Eyes, make sure all the wiring is running out the back so you can connect it later! (Also at this point you might want to test that the projectors work, so plug in a H1 bulb and admire) Next it was time to heat up the glue again and seal the lenses back on, be sure to put the screws and clips all back in the way they were! Then it was a matter of mounting the lights back on the car, wiring up the HIDs and Angel Eyes which were connected to ignition so they're used as DRL! From here, you want to adjust your 'cutoff' line for your projectors (can search tutorials online), as you don't want to blind oncoming cars and get attention from the boys in blue And there you have it! I think the results speak for themselves, it's definitely worth it and takes about a day to do so! I am yet to test them for night driving and see the difference from HIDs in the standard reflector END RESULT:

Can use them for some red devil eyes ? -
R33 S2 Angel Eyes Fog Lights LED
bistratoaie replied to bistratoaie's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Update: Will be going a slightly different way due to complications with manufacturing exactly how I wanted, but same general idea using 2 x 80mm multicolour angel eyes led rings off ebay glued behind the glass of the fog lights. Will post pics of the progress and end result when they arrive! -
R33 S2 Angel Eyes Fog Lights LED Basically replacing the series 2 clear fog lights located on the front bar with led angel eye projector fog lights. They will sit in place of the original glass lens sitting on a custom acrylic bracket to hold it in place and present a visually pleasing and professional look also keeping it weatherproof and maintaining the circular style. NOTE: Will be posting more pics later just a rough idea

R33 S2 RB25DET FFP Install - HELP
bistratoaie replied to bistratoaie's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
@Guilt-Toy not really bothered by power gain from the FFP, will be concentrating on turbo, injectors and tune for the power end of things, was merely more of an aesthetic thing! but cheers, do you recommend any bolt-ons? -

@JustinP nice troll! Like I said, I don't want to run into any difficulties that I can avoid, its plain f**king logic! -

I know that, but I still haven't found the thread. If you know where it is then perhaps you can link it to me? -
