Well the car is away at the smash repairers getting work done woohoo. So hopefully i can pick it up next friday and then take it get get the cage fitted. I will try and get photos between shops.

I love it buddy. Can you take some pics of your interior and the kill switch so i can get some more ideas for the layout in the R33. Hope to be out there with you next year.

Well I got a little bit more done on Friday. First off Instant windscreens came and we removed all the glass, front and rear screens and both quarter screens at the rear. What a shit job that was, the factory seals were hard as a rock and the silicon glue they used was crazy strong stuff. But after about an hour we had all of the glass out and cleaned up, but best of all there was no breakages wooooooohooooo. Then I had to drop the car trailer off to get some new ramps made for it, after finding that one of the tyres valve stems was leaking and having to replace it I was under way again. Then it was off to BOC to get an esky full of dry ice, and then it was a long stint in the car slowly getting rid of most of the sound deadening. All I have left is the two spots on the rear tyre wells which were a pain in the ass and at 10:30pm and after a 6 pack they were giving the shits, so I gave up and tided up what I had done. So all I have to do is clean up the last remaining bits and remove the last few pipes etc out of the engine bay that will not be needed then next Friday it is off to get some welding done. After removing all the door seals i found this little beauty under the RH door seal. And this under the rear screen seal both these will be fixed while it is down at the smash repairers. Most of the stuff out. The piles of deadener. So hopefully by next weekend the car will be away getting all welded up, i can not wait.

Hey mate I have all the following bits Harmonic balancer (Maybe) Radiator Engine mounts (RH only my LH one was broken) Transmission mounts Driver’s side electric window switches Air conditioner condenser and fan I have heaps of other bits and pieces mate so let me know if you want anything else. If anyone has any info on what parts of the harness you can and can not remove without disturbing anything else that would be a huge help. Or if anyone could lead me in the right direction to find a body wire schematic not the engine that would be a massive help.

That will all be out Inc the sound deadening and most of the welding on the chassis will be done. The doors are already off and stored away, and all the windows will be out for you as I found a guy local that is confident and came recommended. So hopefully that will make Jay's and your life a little easier bud. That is the plan for Friday after the windows come out. I will take some pics for you then and post them up for you Chris. If I un-tack the support would you want it mate?

No work done on Sunday, but I got a little done today. Wooohooo. All the cabin and engine harnesses are out and labeled bar a few mystery objects hmmmmmm. Hopefully some one can let me know what they are. Pic of were the back seat used to be. Pic of were the dash used to be. I have got a bloke coming over on Friday morning to remove all the windows and then I will remove what is left of the A/C and heater lines from the engine bay. Then I will remove all the sound deadener and give the car a good clean inside and out and get it ready to go to the smash repairers on the following Thursday for the week, then it will be off to get the cage sorted . Gee wiz there is a lot of stuff that comes out of these cars when you get stuck in to them. This is the first mystery box. It is located on the passenger side above the ECM. It has a clip holding the harness in, I was unsure if it is for the std security system and the latch was an anti theft thing??? So I did not pull the harness out of it. Any ideas? There was another unit recessed in front of the passenger side door? and what is the unit that is upside down in the boot above the fuel pump? I will get pics of these later if you are still unsure what I am on about. Hope I did not baffle you too much. Cheers, Ryan

mmmmmmm i am no were near 10s mate but i have not driven on proper semis there yet, i did run a few 1.11's on RT615's last trip down there. I don't know how i will go for 20 mins tho but i will put my self down for a slow maybe option if i can get the car down there before hand and see how is it going after it has been apart. But i am willing to lend a hand closer to the date with towing and prep work if needed mate.

Ok i am hoping that over they next two days i might have the car ready to be sent to the smash repairs, fingers crossed. I just have a few questions to ask others with purpose built track cars already. Did you keep the blower fan for some cooling/air circulation in the cabin? I am think of getting rid of it all together. Did you remove the heater core also? Again i am wanting to remove it as well. And is it worth welding up the holes in the firewall or just cutting some cover plates and fixing them to the fire wall so they can be removed at a later date if they needed to be? Cheers.

Bit off topic but what about larger sumps for the RB25? are the Hi Energy ones any good?

I am getting a weld in Bonds kit with extra bits. It will hopefully be finished for the SAU South tack day but i don't know? it will be close. It is a Jet Speed front bar i modified, it was a T type i think? Very excited

Well did not get much time on it today, but i got the engine in the stand and all tidy. I will have to get some new buttons on the clutch and the flywheel and pressure plate tided up also. The dampener also looks to have a few small cracks appearing in the rubber so i might have to source one of them as well, i will remove it and have a look laters. The misses helped refit the bonnet and the car is back on its own feet. I got the seats removed and all the rear trimmings off and the sunroof out. All that is left to do is finish off the dash and sort out the A/C, heater lines and the harnesses. Then remove the sound deadener and give it a clean up before it goes away to get the sunroof welded up and the cage fitted. Just a few shots of the interior too peak at.

Nar home made bud. It is part of a large tie down strap folded over then stitched together with heavy duty thread at a sailing shop. Then i punched two stainless steel eyelets in it, then wola you have a soft tow strap.
