  1. As the S15 is going so will my spare set of wheels/tyres. They are the standard S15 rims with a set of used Bridgestone RE540 225/45/R16 Semi-Slicks. Very good tyres with about 1-2 track days left in them. Rims are in fair condition with a fair few scratches. Would suit someone who wants a second set of rims as spares for track days for 1/4 mile work. Selling all four with the tyres for $500 ono. Also selling a full set of four Dunlop DJ01 Semi-Slicks for a mate. 205/50R16 2 x 100% and 2 x at least 90% tread $800 ono Both are Located in Canberra. Pickup only. Contact Glenn on 0407 202 348
  2. Will also consider swap for non-turbo (pref rwd/awd) japanese/european car around same value.
  3. Was good to meet alot of you again. Luke you were doing bloody well for a first timer. Your times will drop quickly as you get more laps under you. I was very impressed! Doing the suspension and brakes definately is the way to go first. Horsepower isn't a real requirement at the track. Would love to see some of the footage! Unfortunately I am selling the S15 so probably won't be out at the track in it again. Will definately be going out with the rest of the fellas though and will bring my race car when it eventually gets built (at least a year or so off). Was a top day and good to meet and catch up with you all!
  4. Should be right supadan, unfortunately I will be using the same (borrowing one from a mate). Other option is to hire one for $20. See you all tomorrow!

  6. Thats right its the same price whether you are driving or a passenger. Haven't set a time to leave yet but it will be early. Feel free to get all the SAU crew to meet at 7 at the Shell Servo, I might not be able to meet you there though. Knowing the guys they will be going the back way past Tarago. You won't be able to miss we will have a fair few cars up there including my car. I will be sure to be at the servo or come and grab you out there. The list so far includes: Me - S15 200SX Coxy - SR20DET 1200 ute Dan - VY Clubsport Joe - Clubsport Chris - XD ute (400rwhp NA 351) Johno - Evo VIII Luke - R33 Skyline Pete - R33 Skyline Niko - Supra TT A few others aren't 100% yet and Ben from VE might even take the work ute out like last time (V6 VS shitta ute)! haha Unfortunately the race car is still undergoing surgery after Phillip Island. Anyone else?! List updated.
  7. Do it Stevie, you know the Skyline will love you for it
  8. Exactly the way to do it mate. Once he has some experience up he will be blowing the doors off me. Good to hear you will get him on the track early. There really is no better way to get him learning his and the cars limits. It's how a good friend of mine started and there is just no way I can compete with his driving ability. Its an Open Practise Day so anyone can come along. I actually posted up on StreetRides (twice) and didn't get a response. More than happy for them to head out. Doesn't matter what you drive and if it's an R32 GTR you are not allowed on the track without giving me a drive first. (just jokes)
  9. I feel for you Shaun I am currently in the same position and will decide within the next couple of days whether I will sell the S15. I really don't want to but it's reaching that point where I need to get a house. I am thinking of building a race car in the future to compensate (Group Nc RX2 or Improved Production RX7/R32/S13). I really don't want to sell but insurance and mods are starting to mount up. As Richard said sometimes you have to let your head rule. All the best with whatever you decide.
  10. Nah its all good, I only ever watch doco's on ABC and SBS (Foreign Correspodant, Four Corners, Australian Story etc) anyway. Catch ya on the 15th!
  11. Knowing TT it will no doubt be about young drivers and hoons but seeing them at Wakefield (i.e. off the street) can only be a good thing? The story is something about young drivers need for speed so I am hoping that some of the "regulars" I see out there turn up, i.e. the older gentleman that punts his AMG CL500 (or whatever it is) around, some of the WRX fellas etc. They will no doubt put a spin and probably say how we "hoons" are honing our skills on the track for the street or some crap. But I want to give Wakefield the best opportunity to promote itself. I was going to try and get interviewed to say how days at Wakefield are getting people off the street, thats not just young drivers but older drivers and getting them to experience what there limits are and how quickly they find them in a relatively safe environment. Drivers are learning skills for life that could help them in a dangerous situation on the street. Then again that might be edited by Today Tonight to read something else. At least the ABC (and SBS) seem to report in a non-biased fashion rather than sensationised garbage that ACA and TT regularly put out.
  12. Found out some more info. The film crew are from today tonight doing a story on "Young drivers and the need for speed". I am one who cannot stand the stories but hopefully this will be a positive story... heres hoping.
  13. Just thought I would add, one of the fellas in the club has been contacted by Wakefield and this Thursday (the initial date) they are attempting to boost numbers and will have a film crew out there. For those interested in going the cost of day (6th) will be huge fat $0 but you will need to let me know asap so I can put your name down. I will be heading out on the 6th AND again on the 15th. You will need to have a Wakefield Park License.
  14. Nice one! You can rock up whenever you like but I like to get there early so I can set up, i.e. get all the crap out of the car, set the tyres up etc. We will probably all cruise up so feel free to join us, will post up meet time closer to the date.
  15. I run semis. Either my old Bridgestone RE540s or my new Toyo R888s. Both are pretty good on the track. The best I have tested so far are the Bridgestone RE55s though the Toyos aren't far behind. Falken also have a new tyre out but it had want to be alot better than the old RT215s. Semis arent really required but make a good couple of seconds difference. Have been talking to Kris about another dyno day in May. Waiting to see what timeframe he has on getting the S15 back in action.
  16. Yep whatever you like. Last time I went out there were a fair few Pulsars out there ripping it up and having a ball. Be good to see some Skylines out there and feel free to come and spectate it won't cost you anything. Don't worry too much about having it up to track spec, I still run standard shocks and brakes (with good pads ) and only put out 185rwkw. Should be a good one as its starting to cool down a little now so its easier on the cars (especially turbos).
  17. A few of the Valvebounce guys are heading out for some much needed practise (I haven't been since last year). Anyone keen to head out? There will be a few HSV's coming up with us so a perfect opportunity to show them up (I will be ). More than that its a great way to learn more about your driving ability and what your vehicle is capable of! 18. Hey champ, I have a full set of S15 rims with Bridgestone RE540s if you get really stuck. Nice sticky rubber might help you get that 12.
  19. To quote the site: That said they can get a little upset (as I do) with people who arent in control of their car when other cars are around. If your by yourself they dont really care what you do as long as your not flicking crap onto the track. If thats not what you're after, then fatz runs some really good drift days out at Oran Park. This is an example of one of his track days. Drop him a line and ask when the next one is: http://valvebounce.com/home/viewtopic.php?t=543 Hope that helps.
