The Subaru can spray is part of a regular service. Spray and idle I believe. AFAIK the Engine Carbon Clean mob take 30+ minutes to finish up the job. I'm waiting for a call back and I'm going to ask a stack of questions.

I'm looking at Engine Carbon Clean. It's hooking up the car to a machine that looks to push whatever through the intake. They are on Facebook, Engine Carbon Clean Melbourne I think.

Engine Carbon Clean? Hi, My daily ride is a Subaru. Dealership and the local mechanic do the good 'ol "tune up in a can" and spray the upper cylinder cleaner in then out the exhaust is a black haze of built up carbon deposits. I'm wary of miracle cans (besides WD40) but enter Engine Carbon Clean. Doing some digging, they started in the UK and have spread their wings to VIC. Can't find a bad review, but can find before/after on same day dyno runs and the results look good. I'm thinking about rolling the dice and giving it a crack on the GTR. Thought I'd throw it out there, anyone done this or similar before? Cheers!

Experiences at VicRoads (re)registering a car?
phatmonk replied to phatmonk's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Re-registering the car was a piece of cake. As the last owner and all numbers the same they didn't even sight the car. Just walk in, wait a long time, and pay. Back on the road! -

Document 26 - Roadworthy Requirements - of the Vehicle Standards Information on page 10 has something like "Compliance plates are often damaged, lost or stolen. They are not a requirement for a roadworthy certificate". -

Experiences at VicRoads (re)registering a car?

The compliance plate might be a sovereign for someone that... ummm... "borrowed" it. Any ideas how to go about getting a compliance plate reprinted? Checkered past right. The thing on my side is the car checks out. There are no mods, asides from an exhaust, that they'll see. So it sounds like luck of the draw then. -
Hi SAU, My car has a bit of a checkered past. The PPSR checks out OK and I've got all the import, compliance and other paperwork, so happy about that. The compliance plate is no longer under the hood but overall the car is in excellent shape with a roadworthy coming. That means a date with VicRoads is coming... It'll also be popping my cherry at VicRoads too and not being through it before I'm not sure what to expect. Wanted to ask your experiences (re) registering a car? Cheers!

Had the same (?) problem recently with an R33. The sealant used around the tail light had perished and water was coming in through the back of the tail light. The leak wasn't obvious. I ran a hose over the car and went hunting for wet patches and drips. I used this from Supercheap: http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/Product/Permatex-Silicone-Adhesive-Sealant-Black-80mL/129938 I'd guess with water pooling in the tyre well the plug mentioned is in. HTH
