well sorry i only just found this thread again. but my idle screw was wound out so the idel was higher, maybe done for some reason to mask another problem but im not sure. since winding it back in havent had any other problems with that area again. maybe check what everybody in this thread has said and just eliminate stuff as you go.

Cheers I ended up going genuine anyway as apparently u cant buy cheaper aftermarket ones for GTR's, i tried all over!

ok well when the parts arrived they were not long enough compared to my standard ones up the threaded part and the tapered part was also not long enough, i tried a number of parts stores who each said they had the parts and when i went to check, they were all wrong. even tried pedders who have a listing on there website for them but when i went in same deal they were not correct parts when compared to OEM ones. It is looking more and more likely that il have to buy genuine for R33 GTR Outer tie rod ends. so if anybody has any more info or part numbers for these models and parts, let me know, id still like to find an alternative to genunie if possible.

Did they ever tell you if that part number was also compatible with R33 GTR at all? i need to replace mine, thats all and my local nissan dealership Quoted me $113.50ea I think im going to ring the nissan melb number u have posted and ask directly, as my local dealership said they can get it out of melb over night anyway, so cut out the middle man?

I am trying to find this exact same Question out now? 1. does R32/33 GTR have the same front outer tie rod ends? 2. Do they even make an aftermarket replacement for these or do u have to buy genuine? 3. If as a last resort i have to buy genuine, can anybody reccomend a nissan dealership who is reasonably priced to purchase these from? any help would be appreciated. Cheers Daz.

He's from Sunshine Coast, Qld. still hasnt sold yet ray? this turbo is brand new i have seen it in person, buyer wont be dissapointed. i can vouch for ray great guy aswell. Cheers Darren

Yeah could be right, i reckon it would relay a signal back to ecu then from there to hicas ecu at the rear most likely.

Well apparently after going to the local spare parts shop, they said the R32,R33 are the same outer tie rod ends, which i assume would mean the same rack. Approx price was like $28ea Im probably just going to order some and then compare them with the old ones before fitting them, but im sure they will fit. fingers crossed now that the rack itself gets reco'd ok.

I was talking about the solenoid on the power steering rack in the front end, it has some kind of a solenoid looking thing on it i had to unplug before removing the rack out to send of for reco. i thought the photo of your plug u were showing was in the engine bay down underneath area, have u followed to plug to see where it goes? i might be talking about a different plug altogether. i recently removed my rack from my R33 gtr, i noticed that plug was attched to the steering rack, i had to unplug to remove the rack. isnt it attched to the steering angle sensor on the rack its self? it might read how much pressure is flowing via the power steering fluid when u turn, and relay that back to the ecu which then tells other sensors such as hicas when to operate. So if u were turning at speed the pressure would rise in the power steering fluid as it pumps, and then the sensor would pick it up and tell the ecu which tells hicas to turn to assist steering angle. Thats just what i think would happen with these sensors, and im sure they dont last for ever and there for will fail eventually. we need to find out a way to test the sensors on the vehicles and then also where to get replacements from? If anybody knows this info, im sure it would help out alot of people. Just so we can illiminate another problem with the hicas/steering etc.

Hey guys, i am in the process of reco-ing the rack out of my 33 gtr, just wondering if there was any difference between the GTR models in the racks or are they the same? i.e internal parts etc. also coz of the hicas on the R32's being hydraulic does it it make the steering rack up front different? and can any body tell me whether you can buy outer rack ends in oz and if there is any models that are oz delivered that will fit R33 Racks? beerwah footy grounds burnout comp on this weekend, anybody going? (used to be held at caloundra afl grounds) on easter weekend.

i saw GQ LWB up noosa way with big muddies and raised like 3", it was up for sale for like $4500, was near the tyrepower up there i think some one who either works there or around there ows it. looked like it had all the goods on it, not a bad price.

pity about that. i know a guy who has a 25 in a pootrol, it goes alright. sumthing different i guess. find sumthing small to put it in as a track car then have a 4wd as your other car. best of both worlds

i reckon u could fix that shaun, go see bert at kunda park smash and see if u can put it on the car-o-liner if it even needs it. ive seen worse cars then that repaired. worth a try man, atleast u wont have to ditch such a clean car. im sure u could fix it up. P.S Coxy said to fix it ya skirt lol

Welcome to the forums, and shaun that is f**ked up about your car dude. maybe get a R31 shell 4 door cheapy and dump whatever u can salvage into it. those coupes are hot though, what a shame.
