  1. hey guys, i just had a fmic and avcr installed, car started running roughly and breaking down under load, i purchased some split fire coilpacks, and replaced my standard pones, and also im running the ngk iridium plugs BKR5EIX-11 in this thread, i orignially though it was plugs but i got the coilpacks. anyway i installed them didnt touch the plugs they are still standard gap, and car seems to run 100% better, didnt miss a beat all the way to redline just now when i took it for a run. but if i didnt buy coilpacks i would have tried to gap the plugs down to 0.8 because the spark from the coilpack must be weakening because of the age of them, and heat soak. and cant fire across the same distance anymore. Cheers Daz
  2. just stay on the back wheel, and u wont need the fronts col lol
  3. torque gas.
  4. When police were talking about that goldy street racing incident on tv, i saw on the news that the camera crew waited at a set of lights, to get a picture of a hotted up car, guess what it was they filmed driving away from the lights? a gunmetal grey R32 with chrome rims. even though the guy wasnt doing anything, but driving along he gets snapped and used for footage of his car in a hoon story. no wonder the public think the way they do. was probably some 1 off here. im not sure if it was a 2 or 4 door.
  5. they go aiight. the avcr. been round for a while now and do the job.
  6. I reckon they are phasing it out bcoz of there sales figures of it, it probably shows that they arent selling near enough of it compared to other fuels, and not that many people who are using 98 already have actually made the choice to pay the extra to get the 100ron for everyday driving. but definately when hitting the track or for motorsports purposes its a major plus. sucks that we wont have that option anymore i guess.
  7. ok guys all sorted, thanx.
  8. It Probably has been but still, i didnt see the thread, anyway its up here for all to see again if they havent already. and hopefully, even by signing this we can show our support. at the very least.

  10. Hey guys, as some of you may be aware, Troy critchley is an aussie drag racer, who resides in the u.s.a now anyway last year he was asked to attend a charity burnout event over there, in his drag car. He lined her up on the line started the burn out but something went horribly wrong when the wheels gripped up and threw the car sideways into the crowd killing 6 innocent by standers. Now this was a tragic accident, it was at no fault of his own. just one of the risks involved with car racing and spectators not having properly safety barrier protection. Anyway hes is being prosecuted over in the u.s for killing these people, if anybody saw the reports on 60mins last night u will know how it went, here is a video of it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgipzjKQ4mA I would like as many people who feel like this was a tragic accident to get behind troy and support him by signing this petition on his teams drag racing website. http://www.teambrayracing.com/newsite/Cool...ion.php?msg=ADD Thanx to all those who show there support. 11. Whats the go with rain. grrr
  12. ha ha mine was thawing out by the time i left for work. it didnt get that bad here
  13. nah i wont be out, might go out one day just been too stuffed lately to go out at night.
  14. a friend of mine had an R33 gtst stock internals, pfc, avcr, hks cooler, hks turbo, bigger injectors etc, it made 360+hp with stock afm. so depending on your power goals, i reckon u can keep it. just a good tune. i dont have any techinical advice, just giving what i have seen. i would also like to know the HP flow capabilites of the standard afm on RB20/25's?
  15. Ha Ha definatelty not my cup of tea, i dont like painted interior parts, looks tacky i reckon. $2 spray painting is not a good mod lol
  16. Well i went to nissan today to check part numbers etc , they dont have any of the part numbers on there computers only the bolt numbers i have. but it turned out when i went to another place to get the bolts, that the bolts i have actually fit the brace, and screw in, there was some paint in the threads that was not letting the bolts screw in properly, so once i forced it in with a socket set a few times it freed up the thread. silly me shoulda done that in the first place. argh well i didnt want to strip the thread on it. im glad its all fixed now. also the bolts are the same part number as maxima ones apparently , so they must have had an option for a rear strut brace for maxima.
  17. anybody with an R33 gtst wanna let me borrow there afm (pink sticker) on the weekend for testing purposes. wont take long. just need to see if mine is playing up at all. just playing the elimination process at the moment, from a missfire.
  18. Ok so i have found out that there is 3 types of bolt codes for the brackets, Does anybody have an R33 rear strut brace part numbers for the bolts. or does anybody work for nissan, and could maybe find out for me? The bolts i have now are part number : (56226 - 31UOO) THESE ARE THE WRONG BOLTS FOR THE BRACKETS I HAVE. i need bolts to fit L/H BRACKET (54494-20U00) i dont have the R/H BRACKET part numbers but i think the bolts are exactly the same. If anybody could help with these part numbers, that would be awesome, i wanna order them.
  19. also look at your rims, are any of them buckled? also the tyres on the car have they worn unevenly and are possibly egged in anyway? just a though.
  20. Do any of your mates drive something like this.... http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars/priva...82&trecs=70 If not they should lol they will win shows, have a read lol such a weapon!
  21. Well this seems interesting. very keen to see the end results, good or bad. i drive an BF falcon ute for work which is dedicated gas. its got the dual tanks on it, i think they are around 100L for the both of them, it gets around 470-480km/tank. that is usually fully loaded with building supplies, but one thing i do notice is it's lacking in torque compared to petrol car. when u are going up hill or something like that, u have to give it a boot full to get it moving. what type of gas set up do the falcons have standard? anyway good on you for trying something out fo the ordinary. even if u dont get your rebate back, u will still be saving in the long run of all goes to plan.
  22. if u still have standard cooler, it wont take much over 10psi. dont know if that would have anything to do with it cutting out at all. im having similar cutting out problems but ive just installed an avcr. so im still trouble shooting mine.
  23. Ok, i found out mine had the same problem as so tred, i had a hose still connected to the standard boost solenoid and down to the pipe, so i chopped it off and blocked it off. seemed to run better but is still breaking down after trying to tuning the avcr, might be coil packs, but unsure yet. going to replace them in the near future. can anyone tell me with the standard solenoid, once u have disconnected all the hoses from it, can u pull out the plug and just leave it disconnected or do u have to leave the plug connected and block off the 2 nipples with screws in the hose ends? Does the standard computer still need to read what that plug is doing even though the standard solenoid isnt being used. cheers daz
  24. i am having similar sort or missfire problems once my avcr was installed. im just trying to figure out what goes where to check it all, can anybody take a pic of there solenoids etc and where all the hoses are meant to connect to and post it up , if its not too much to ask? cheers 85URK Daz then maybe we can save this thread with pic's in the forced induction section for anybody else who will come across these problems.
  25. dont worry about it it was cancelled, its on next weekend now if its fine. but i wont be going now.
