  1. I am changing my turbo setup and putting the std manifold and a gt28rs on. I will be getting rid of my oil lines that I have on the car now and will need to replace the water and oil lines for the new turbo. I believe the STD RB20det oil and water lines fit the gt28rs as they are a bolt on upgrade. I also need the oil drain too. I am on the sunshine coast QLD. Wanted ASAP. Thanks. Rhys 0409058315
  2. I have an R32 instrument cluster for sale. Looking for $100 or closest to that price. MAKE AN OFFER. Open to ANY offers! Im on the sunshine coast QLD and prefer local buyer. PM me if your interested. Rhys
  3. Sorry no dyno sheets as the car hasnt been tuned on a dyno. I am not sure on the HP ratings of these turbos, but im assuming around the 350 - 400 hp would be reasonable considering the size and external gate on them. PM sent Rhys
  4. No I wont seperate the kit. Open to swaps of turbos though. Thank you. Rhys
  5. Thank you jvs007 for your experiences with the 2530. its very helpful to hear from people who actually have the turbos and how they would respond before buying one. Thanks.
  6. I am looking for actual experiences with them, not peoples power readings. I am looking for torque and responce, for my car and want to know things like what revs power comes on and the difference between the HKS 2530, and the garret gt28rs as I am looking at buying one of the turbos. Thank you.
  7. I am looking at buying either a HKS 2530 or a garret GTRS (disco potato) with a nissan exhaust housing. Question is how much difference would there be between the two? The 2530 would end up costing me around $500 more then the gtrs and just wondering if anyone here has had experiences with either of the two turbos on an RB20det. Any help would be great. Thanks. Rhys

    Gt2530

Im looking at buying a GT2530. I have a TD06 at the moment and want something smaller and more responcive. I would need a turbo that bolts onto the standard exhaust manifold. PM me with any offers you have. Thanks Rhys
  10. Any interest at all? Negotiable on price. Rhys
  11. Im putting my turbo up for sale. TD06-19c turbo Custom highmount manifold (with adapter place for TD turbo, can also take T3 turbos more options for turbos later!) Tial Wastegate (purple) with screamer pipe Im on the sunshine coast QLD The turbo is on the car right now so can be seen working $1800.
  12. I want but am on the Sunshine Coast. PM me if you can arrange it to come to the Sunshine Coast. Thanks. Rhys
  13. where does this marty work? what is the company called? Just interested in getting my car serviced too. cant find many good people on the coast! Rhys
  14. I too have a standard exhaust manifold. I live on the sunshine coast QLD. PM me if your interested and we can talk business! Rhys
  15. yes I do realise that it will make an actual difference. sorry I forgot to say a noticable difference, or a worth while difference. meaning I doubt you would notice the huge amount of fuel you would be using running 11 psi as apose to the honda jazz like amount of fuel you will use when running 9 psi. Basically Im with everyone else on here. I dont see why people bother with different boost settings. have your car tuned to a safe / powerful amount of boost and leave it at that. if you dont want to run high boost after that, dont put your foot down! but I for one cant imagine a time when I put my foot to the floor, let the revs go up and NOT want all the power of the engine. And for the fuel consumption, once again goes on the throttle control there, but you own a turbo performance car. It is never going to be good on fuel so when your driving around town, keep the revs down and dont put your foot to the floor. You will notice that the boost doesnt raise up if you keep the revs down, therefore there is your low boost setting!! Simple!! Rhys
  16. She isnt trying to run 2psi, she is wanting to stage between 9psi and 11psi. Personally I dont think 2 psi is going to make enough difference in either the fuel consumption or the power to worry about it. Rhys
  17. Im looking for a race seat for my silvia. it must have rails to suit and be reclinable. looking for recaro, bride or another good quailty brand (no copys or cheap ones). around $500. Rhys Hutcheson
  18. ok good advice there guys, thanks. Thats ok that I dont get good power that low then if its not easily done. so your 25/30 sounds like a nice mid range turbo, but they are internal wastegate arent they. I would prefer not to have to weld up an internal wastegate turbo, so do you know of any turbos that would give good low to mid range power that are external wastegate? Thanks again. rhys
  19. Hi, I have a silvia with an RB20 in it. it has a TD06-19c and I dont know the exhaust sixe (10cm or 8cm) but it is very laggy and no good for its intended use. now my options are as I can see them, 1, take the turbo off and look inside the exhaust housing and see if its 8cm or 10 cm, then if 10cm, get an 8cm housing for it and away I go. 2, look into buying a smaller turbo for it, but it has to be externally wastegated as I dont want to modify the already modified custom exhaust manifold. I was looking at things like the 'disco potato', and other gt 28 size turbos but they all seem to be internal wastegated. can anyone sujest a good turbo that gives good power at around 3000rpm. Im not looking for a drag or dyno king car, just something that has some low down torque and still some power behind it. prob around 210rwkw would be good. or 3 sell the car and get soemthing different! I would prefer not to do this one! I just dont want to spend a heap of money on it again, but would like to enjoy the car as much as I can. any ideas from people with experience with low spooling turbos would be awesome. thanks heaps Rhys
  20. I went to redcliff to get mine re tuned after someone on the coast attempted to. they can tune them but they dont do them all the time. Give them a call and ask them cause they had no problems with mine at all, and I trust them to do a good job as they have all my cars and friends cars also. Rhys
  21. yes you would think that wouldnt you! Even an egg can install injectors without breaking the Orings, making it stream fuel out and all over your engine. a little vassoline doesnt go astray when fitting them! Tuning, well I wont get started there. Maybe my car was the only one where I had to redo all his work and get it tuned again by someone else, but I doubt it! Rhys
  22. can you be a little more specific on where it is stamped on the housing and what it looks like? It is a high mount turbo so I may be able to see it if it is in the right spot. pics would be awesome. you willing to sell the 8cm housing if I dont already have one? Rhys
  23. I have an RB20 in my silvia with a TD06-19c. It is extremely laggy below around 4500, when it climbs boost very fast. I like the power push, but it is too laggy to use when driving around normally. I read that there are 10cm and 8cm exhaust housings. I also read that the 8cm housing will fit straignt onto any TD06. WITHOUT taking the turbo off the car, is there any way of knowing if its the 10cm or 8cm? can I just measure the dump pipe to get an idea? and if it is a 10cm will adding an 8cm exhuast housing be a big difference in low end torque? any help would be appreciated! Thanks. Rhys
  24. steer clear of george mays. your best option is to drive to someone who 1. has a dyno, and 2. has experience with your engine and that computer. I have had my own personal experience with george and will say I was extremely dissappointed with the results. I ended up paying alot of money for nothing really. I ended up taking the car to redcliff dyno where they looked at the tuning and laughed and showed me how dodgy it was, and they arent even wolf distributers! they tuned it up really well and treat any car like their own. just my experiences with george mays. Rhys
  25. I dont recomend george mays. not very happy with his work there at all. At the end of the day, I had to reinstall the injectors that they idnt put in properly and fuel was spraying all over the engine bay, after they worked on it a heater hose was moved and rubbing on the exhaust, so I had to replace that also, the tune was very very bad, didnt go as good as it did when it went in, and he just wasnt interested in helping me get it going right. I paid nearly a grand for nothing really cause I had to fit the injectors, had to get it tuned elswhere to fix his tuning (they said he only tuned a small rev range and guessed the rest) and had to replace the heater hose and go without the car for weeks! NOT HAPPY! just my experience with George Mays. Rhys
