my indicators dont work now, PLEASE HELP
Happymeal replied to AlexCim's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
you haven't done anything with the hazard light button have you? unplugged it? I think if this is unplugged or dodgy connection the indicators don't function. am I right or did I just fart out my mouth again? Just throwing that out there as it is what I have heard. -
straight off my lenses is 01-215-1653L-A no brand name on them though. It's pissing down here, so I haven't taken the phillips screw driver to them to pull the moulding out to see if anything is listed on the rear for you as yet. If anything is there I'll let you know.

That second photo is a P11 Primera wagon. A friend of mine has one. Nice cars, but not a stagea, maybe we should wash your eyes out with soap lol The skirts on the primera are nice when it's all kitted up, I want skirts for my Stag in a similar vein.

thanks mate, yeah preseumed it was similar to the skylines but the push clip must just be a firm fit. Will get a bit more elbow grease into it tonight. thanks.

FRont right hand side park light casing. How do you get the damned thing out? I removed the top screw, is there a hidden one somewhere? I need it out to replace the bulb to get a warrant. Damned thing won't budge, so I guess there is a second screw, where do I access it fromt. Will have a look again tonight once i get home and get changed into more suitable clothes, jumping under the car in a business shirt isn't as suitable as I'd like right now.

SK could you take a photo of the blind part not in the car? I'm interested how the mounting goes. It's going to cost quite a bit to get one of these here to NZ as the guy selling them can only get it shipped at $220 Aussi to me. making the cost phenominal to me to get it here in NZ dollars. Anyne travelling to NZ and feel like bringing a cargo blind with them? I'll be your bestest mate

Power button- snow button... What does what ??
Happymeal replied to emanuelt's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
lights will automatically go off when the ignition is killed and the drivers door is opened. I have a turbo timer on my RS$ model, which confuses it. I turn the car off get out of the car and walk away. Head lights stay on becasue the ignition is still held on when i get out of the car and close the door. Car thinks driver is still sitting in the drivers seat waiting. If I walk back to the car and open the door to turn the lights off manually they then turn off as soon as the door is opened, it thinks the driver is getting out. So yes lights will turn off with the ignition being turned off, but only when drivers door opens after that condition is met. For information, the light receptor for the Auto lights is in front of the driver on top of the dash, right down by the base of the windscreen. make sure you don't have it covered or obscured by anything (like stupid park and display ticket stubs), and if you have to clean that area use a soft clean cloth so not to damage the sensor. There is also a further headlight arrangement option i have heard of on Stageas, ut's been discussed here, that is the auto dimming headlight system. I don't have this on my ride, but it dimms the lights apparently automatically for on coming cars or something similar, this feature is NOT what we are talking about when we talk of automatic setting for headlights. It can be hardcase in Auckland traffic sometimes travelling on the motorway, you can often see which cars have auto lights always left in that mode. As you drive under bridges, especially in slow moving traffic (must be a certain darkness detecting delay incorporated before they turn on) you can see headlights fire up, then as they drive back into the sunshine, go off again about 10 metres later -
oh!. I need the roll cover. I'm in NZ though, but happy to cover shipping. can you please send me estimated costs to get the parcel to Auckland? thanks a heap. [email protected]

I'll see if I can locate where my wires for the defi guages were run tonight after work. If I can locate them and there is anything useful I can share I'll post up.

Right first off need to pint out that I am a goober when it comes to these things, but in talking to friends who know have picked up some half truths at times. When the AMP is at high volume is it possible the amp is trying to work too hard and hitting some failsafe cut to protect the amp itself, like a thermal cutoff?

yeah I know what you guys mean. Even over here in NZ which is a little more lenient on import vehicles being complied, I get a lot of looks. There are more of the Stagea's on the road now, but I still get a lot of comments ranging from young and old. I was most surprised the other day when visiting a lady friend and her Dad knew what they were, turbo 4wd etc, he poured over it for a good 20-30 mins. Over Xmas was parked up watching a free to public laser light show and a group of young guys sitting on an older 4wd were talking amongst themselves (we could hear them though). One thought it was a ford, in fact very adament about that, a mate of his was correcting him saying he thought it was one of those rare Nissan wagon's built like a GTR. His mate thought he was taking the piss. Had a couple of cops in my car as well ( earlier mentioned lady friend is training to be an officer), and they were most interested in the setup. Said they'd seen them on the road and not really sure what they were. Not often noticed as being a hooning car though, good and low key

Well in truth, I have always been able to find the menu setting to cut the speed limiter, but only really had a car with one installed up to a speed where the limiter would have cut it, that was also when I had a different ECU in there (link computer), so I can't testify they always work, but I have not heard any other result of them not doing what they say. In the manual there are two ways of installing the RSM, with speed cut option or without speed cut option (just speed monitor), the speed cut option involves connecting two wires from the RSM loom onto the speed wire out of the ecu and 'snipping' the wire between the connections of the two from the RSM loom. Thereby stopping the signal circumventing the RSM. Maybe your wire is not 'snipped', obviously don;t go snipping a damned thing till you check pin outs lol But that situation would stop the limiter feature in the RSM from actively cutting the speed limiliter effect.

I have three defi guages in my centre console wheer the two centre vents were. I removed the vents and stuck the three 60mm guages there. I blocked off the vent behind withthe exception of four outlet holes which I routed via plastic pipe to blow air out between the guages into the main cabin of the car. I did this to help airflow when the air conditioning is in use. If any of the vents are closed or blocked air will be forced out the remaining open vents at a higher rate, so the side vents are doing an okay job for front passenger and myself. Also means the install is fairly clean, not advertising to general walker-bys that it's loaded with guages as well. I also have an Apexi RSM that is mounted just in front of my rear view mirror (G-sensor in the roof lining in the cavity around the roof/light controls), It sits up there, behind the sun strip quite nicely and again out of site to passer bys. Still very viewable from a driver perspective (you look at your rear view all the time), it's perfectly sized so that the front sun shades still go through their motion with out any touching or rubbing, also completely out of view of the rear view mirror, so there is no inconveneince there. See in the guage photos that the owner has a RSM, or SAFC, you could look to install it in the same location as me, so that way your warning lights at the bottom of the rev guage on the cluster are not covered up.

very very nice photos, nice example you have there. Mine is identical to yours down to the wheels. Had been thinking about colour matching my door rubber trim (typically they are black from factory), and wondered what it would look like. So thanks to your photos I can get an idea on a real example rather than doctor up some photos in photoshop.

Just think how cool that car would be as a Woodstock Bourbon promotion vehicle or V energy drink or something similar. Could serve drinks right there of the rear mid spoiler bar stylz It's different, and probably built for shows to grab the eye. Surely the air force on that rear roof spoiler at speed would get close to snapping that puppy right off?
-
yup, clear sides makes a huge difference. I swapped mine out for clear sides after a couple of weeks of owning the car. Knew clear looked nicer, also had the chance to swap out to clear front indicators as well. My car is the same colour and the clear sits very nice against the black bumper strips and the base colour silver of the car in general.

thanks very much for that. Really apreciate the effort! Merry Christmas all.

yeah imported cars seem to more often than not, come without them. I'm after one for my car as well over here in NZ. Scarce items seeing as not many of them are around here at the moment. I'm very tempted to maybe try and make a unit up, but think I could be biting off really a bit more than I can chew. Going to ponder this over my time off shortly. Queue a few hours standing at the back of the car with a cold one in one hand and scratching ones chin with the other. Is it possible for those lucky so and so's with them to take a close detailsed photo of the mounting point of the blind and also how it sits when in place? Going to use that for inspiration on mocking one up. thanks heaps and compliments of the season to you all!

Stag front and rear diff ratios, what ??
Happymeal replied to RB26VL's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
ahha, cool on the rs4s spec. No dramas on the zorst. thanks for trying though dude. I'm in no rush, probably will get it sorted out at some stage, but if by chance you come across the bits required to complete the set, just PM me through SDU or something, I'm on there more than here obviously, but I'll find the PM here anyway. cheers and have a great break. -
Stag front and rear diff ratios, what ??
Happymeal replied to RB26VL's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
okay have heard of rs4 and rs4v but what is an rs4s? Is that a manual version or something, ie the 1998 onwrds series 2? Just have never seen reference to an rs4s edition. What is different in the spec? thanks saft. PS any luck on the exhaust bits as yet? -
yeah, I'd agree. Mine came in from Japan, with a Blitz BOV installed, as well as the factory one. ??? The factory one was not hooked up to a vacuume feed so had nothing to hold it closed, so would have been leaking boost all the time. The Blitz was barely audible. Put a pod in there and hooked the factory one up to a vacuume feed as well as the blitz and the blitz become no more audible but the factory one made all the noise. No need for aftermarket, stay factory, go pod. plenty of noise, but only when you come off boost (lift off accelerator)

I noticed the wires as well, is it seatbelt tensioners for the passenger side as well?

some piccies of the stag and 26 engine :)
Happymeal replied to RB26VL's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Oh that is very nice indeed! You take those photo's yourself? You've got a good eye for that obviously.
