Hey just wondering whats the market value of a 1993 R33 Skyline GTST? RTA are being dicks and told me to get a redbook check done on my car to get the market value of it but hmm did they realise its an import and redbook doesnt have em? guess not... So yer ive been searching on the net but cant really find anything.... Can anyone help? I wrote it down as $13,000 but there not hacking it..

oh fair enough thanks.... just asking coz i pulled apart my old motor today and got the copper head gasket from it and also pulled out eh pistons and am thinking of building up a RB25 but guess i cant use those parts any more.. Anyone might be interested in them at all?? Ill have to sus out the condition of the pistons but the head gasket is 100%

Forgot to mention. Car has all usual features of the 180s working perfectly like power steering, power windows, electric mirrors, etc The motor was put in by a proper mechanic not just a back yard job or anything... When the motor was done we put on a new water pump, thermostat, Changed the TIMING BELT , did the inlet manifold and exhust manifold gasket, new plugs, um and yer some other things that needed doing as well while it was all out.... So yer oh new ignition modual as well.... :lol:

Hey just a quick question.. I know its probably going to be no but an RB20 head gasket cant be used on an RB25 can it?? Also in my old blown RB20 i dug out the pistons this arvo and ended up being 50thou oversized as i was told they where.... Can i use these an an RB25 if its bored out...? Cheers

haha cheers guys got it all sorted and my car on the road again... Ended up tracking down a inlet manifold but paif about $40 including postage but all well i needed it over night and we have no nissan dealers that could help anywhere around here.... wish i knew the RB20DT was the same i thought it would have been different?? Anyway cheers lads...

nah he has everything lined up, the cam gears are lined up with the marks on the plastic back part and he said the cams are lined up as well... Hes going to work on it again tomorrow and said it should only be about an hours work but i thought id ask on here anyway... would it have anything at all to do with useing the crank angle sensor off the other motor? i would say not but just to be curious??? My car has an EMS computer as well if thats anything to do with anything??

Hey. Well cracked a piston ring in my car so i ended up ringing around and found a mate with an RB20det head and bottom end cheap so i grabbed that. Motor was from a late modle Cefiro 4WD auto. Had to do a few little modifications like the sump but other then that we just bolted on everything from my old motor onto the new one and dumped her in. The problem is that when it was all together and in everything wired up it would turn over but wouldnt start. Straight away started thinking timing but checked once, checked twice, checked 3 times and the cam gears where lined up with the factory marks etc. Next, tried moving the crank angle sensor around but still wouldnt work, un did the bolts off it and moved it around more and it did start and was running fine. Problem is that where it is to be running is around so that the crank angle cannot be bolted down in the correct holes.. So obviosuly something somewhere is not lined up correctly.. The guy whos doing the motor swap just asked if i can manage to find a picture of the cam timeing marks or something which can help him.. Alternatly does anyone know what could be wrong? Where useing the Crank angle sensor off my old RB20 if that would matter at all? Could the cams be different to the ones from my old motor? The old motor was from a R32 GTST im pretty sure so yer is there any difference.. Please can someone help with ideas or hopefully know whats going on??? Cheers

off the top of my head maybe $5000 buying parts retail?? Upgraded turbo ~$1500 Upgraded ECU maybe powerFC ~$1500 Bigger injectors & fuel pump ~$1000 extras like a boost controller and other little items + labour ~$1000 oh plus a tune whats everyone else rekon?

Hey guys.... just wondering if anyone can help me out as where i can get some gaskets for my RB20det??? I work at Repco and i was searching every where for some and called up that many places and cannot find anything... RB25DET no worries and same with the RB20DT no hassels but it seems only place i can get them for RB20DET is genuine nissan... Prices were not to bad but still i would rather find aftermarket ones cheaper still.. Basically i need the intake manifold gasket, Exhust manifold gasket... I was thinking of calling up Liverpool Exhusts but i dont have their number??? I also need a few other little things but should be able to just take them off my other block

went and picked up my fresh RB20det this arvo... Sounds like it is perfect... from a 4WD cefi auto and dead stock so sounds like it was from a family car.. Be chucking it in in the next few days or so hopefully.. How much do you guys rekon i could get for my other RB20det? It has 50thou over sized pistons etc... how much could i get selling it just the head and bottom end etc... complete just without the manifolds etc?? Would be perfect for a further build up and more power
