Depends if you have a complier in your back pocket I guess. They make more money purchasing and complying their own cars and selling for Grade 4+ money.

Currently just trying to pick up some small parts etc. The rear high mounted stop light on my ADM is missing the bottom plastic cover piece. Any idea where I could source that from? -

Maybe you should wait to sell until the R32 goes for auction at Shannon's in Sydney in May and price accordingly -

Two questions on it, whats with the unusual gap in the boot (not closed properly?). Also the rear pods/mudflap? around the rear wheels is that standard or an option? -

Get your parent as the main insurer with you as a listed driver under VVC. They will do it for under 25 year olds (at least in NSW)

Heartbeat had that V Spec 2 for 45-47k on facebook (cant remember exact price) and it was listed as sold in a few hours. Then it got listed again for 51.5k. This was a few months ago

Something cool I came across, not sure if this exact car has been discussed here. Only 32 Made http://page16.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/u134008079 It would be interesting to see what its worth, given its been resprayed into Silver from an original White. I like the key and rocker covers

Quick q, if the R32 GTR was built on 08/91 as quite a few of the Aus R32's were are they considered Zenki or Chuki? - Nissan Skyline GT-R BNR32 (Zenki - 8/89-8/91) Eng: RB26DETT - Nissan Skyline GT-R BNR32 (Chuki - 8/91-2/93) Eng: RB26DETT - Nissan Skyline GT-R BNR32 (Kouki - 2/93-12/94) Eng: RB26DETT Reason I ask is that there were some minor changes between the two, one being the addition of the metal bar in the door for the Chuki which leads me to believe the 8/91 GTR's are still Zenki?? -

Thanks for the document Bob! I can see myself spending quite a while on that. Didn't realise the extent, especially with the more minor changes. I guess you just have to deal with the mats, from what I saw in past Shannons Auctions, many vehicles didn't have the right mats regardless. Finding parts in general to keep in storage as replacements/fit is extremely tedious especially to not overpay. The cost of originality . Guess it can only get worse in the future so better to do it now. -

Yeh they are different to the normal ones i've seen from other R32 GTR's. Are the mats one of the main differences between Aus and Jap GTR's or? -

Haven't seen an r32 gtr at 20k domestically that doesn't need a load of work. One atm on some facebook forums at 27k with a non original motor (r33 motor and looks rough), needs a full respray and there arent even photos of the interior either. Im sure 35k will get you one with minimal work (although theres always something not perfect, depends on what you are looking for). -
Wine Red R32 GTR '94 Anyone have more information on this car and why it hasn't sold yet? From face value it looks cleaner than most GTR's listed around the 30k mark. Seen it listed for a while on gumtree etc http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/R32-GTR-Nissan-Skyline-1994-Wine-Red-BNR32-/262838232427?hash=item3d3261256b:g:qh0AAOSw4DJYlthw

Was going to ask, do other r32 non gtr (gts-t, gts-4 etc) use the same windscreen seals for front and back??

looking to buy r32 gtr but prices are crazy now?
21PC replied to darkparagon's topic in General Automotive Discussion
This is the crap people on facebook are trying to spread regarding the prices of imports vs domestic cars "Looking at recent jap auction results for R32 GTRs, you could pick one up for $25 to $30k landed and complied. This is for grade 3.5 with around 100 to 150kms. Thought this might be useful for those wanting to get one cheaper than getting one locally and you know the kms are genuine. Cheers" This was my response: " Not sure where you are seeing that, got some example links? All i'm seeing are 3.5-4's which are either or both wound back/no books and are still going for 17k USD which is around 2.1million yen. Obvs the ones which have both books and kms genuine are much higher. Which after compliance goes well over 30k landed and complied. Not even including rego etc" -
Although idd like to add that the comparison of Aussie muscle cars and Skylines isn't as close as youd think. This is because of the much larger international market Skylines have. Toranas etc really only have extreme popularity in Australia which is limited to 23-24 milion people. Similarly the representation of Skylines in popular culture plays a large role. If you also compare muscle cars, the numbers produced in for example Mustangs was much greater and I can tell you that there are heaps of restorations and mint cars sitting in garages that nobody knows about. The fact that mint '89 model GTR's are going for big dollars at Sotherbys for example with another coming up in February in Arizona should point to future value prospects. Who knows, exporting might be the go when the car outvalues itself domestically.

Gonna have a chat to some wreckers and people with parts and see if I can source them. Lets see what happens tbh. Idd much rather OEM. That being said if anyone here knows people selling the kits etc, shoot me a message
-
I'm still kinda unsure how the windscreen seals work in comparison to getting just your typical fitting rubbers from O'Briens for example. It seemed like on the car as if the windscreen rubber that is current on was fitted within the gap and as it heated and overtime etc it expanded and what not and became unstuck. Does the OEM have a harder plastic seal over the top or something? I also saw something like this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SELLING-ALL-MY-R32-GTR-STUFF-THIS-AUCTION-FRONT-WINDSCREEN-SURROUNDS-BNR32-GTR-/272485217962 Weighing up the options on whether to go OEM or just use the spare cash for other things that need attention like original seats etc Thanks for the info btw Bob, ill send you a message to get in touch in the next few weeks when I get a free weekend off work etc
