  1. I try to keep it around (measured to the bottom lip of all guards through the centre of the wheels) 640mm. I have had it lower, but it bottoms out all round on crappy roads, and coming into my driveway.
  2. I forgot to mention, that when u lower the car it affects the camber...which in my case was really squat which made all four wheels sit like this...../___....and of course the tyres wore on the inside....something I didn't notice until the tyres were stuffed....to cut a long story short, it cost me around $600 to get the problem fixed. Just make sure that whoever does the work knows what they are talking about. You are now better informed....talk to several people at different places. Best of luck. Your car will look and handle great when the jobs done.
  3. I have TEIN coil overs all round, and also have 17 Inch wheels (not sure of the wheel widths, 8's front 9's rear I think...and tyres, I have 235/45 on the front, and 255/40 on the back, and I don't have a problem...except when the rear is higher than the front and I'm turning such as when reversing into my driveway. You will also have to get your guards rolled...about $60-$70 each.
  4. I'd be interested also....for my surfski.....otherwise, I have to take the wife's Corolla....and that's just not cricket. Prank...u mentioned a towball....does anyone know of anyone that does towbars for Skyline coupes ?????R33 of course!
  5. ....and another....whites cool, and polishes up real well.
  6. Heres mine......
  7. Nice one... UAS have a 2nd hand one for an R33 GTR and are asking $595 for it.
  8. I have a Kakimoto NS309....it's not too loud, but still gives a nice note without being drony (my word). It is a 75mm cat back, the rear muffler is polished stainless steel with a chrome 115mm tip which looks awesome. http://www.kakimotoracing.co.jp/image_NS309.html
  9. I have Teins all round and they are almost on the stops....my camber was %$#@& up to hell as a result. It was not possible to adjust back to a respectable camber/castor with the factory setup, so I had the local gurus do the biz (they chopped and added blah blah blah)......for almost $600. Much better now. Get a couple of different quotes and views....Pedders would be a good start.....they don't want or need a bad name by doing bodgy work.
  10. Yesiree, it is mine.....thanks....I think it looks good too. It came from Japan like that....I believe it is a standard factory R33 GTR bar.....Its good in several ways....you can remove the bottom lip when its been scratched to hell and repaint it off the car....(the beast has Tein's all round and is set on the stops)....it also allows you an absolute shirtload of room for a FMIC....which will come when the MRS lets me spend some more (of my) money. cheers Ozzy
  11. History lesson - The government used to insure compulsory 3rd party with your rego in NSW, but due to the number of claims against the scheme (oooooh my neck....whiplash), the scheme was dumped and was put out to tender to general insurance companies so they could have the problem. I beleive the NSW state gov is still paying off the debt of the old scheme. As for who where when how much.....log onto the Motor Accidents Authority website.....http://www.maa.nsw.gov.au/greenslips13prices.htm...., chuck in ya details....and you'll be able to choose the cheapest insurer from there. All you need to know about rego in NSW is on the MAA and RTA websites. You can even see if your choice of personalised number plate is available on the RTA website and display it....it's pretty cool..have a play. (it wont display rude ones though). http://www.maa.nsw.gov.au http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/ Tip.....make sure you take your insurance papers as proof of any no claim bonus you may have with you when you purchase the greenslip. Best of luck
  12. This happened to me once years ago....never found a puncture, but finally replaced the valve stems (use the metal ones not rubber, they look better) and valves...that seemed to work.
  13. Road clowns.....I like it .
  14. I read with interest all the different views posted in this thread and have some comments to put forward on a couple of notes. I know that all of you may not agree, but take it from me....an older driver (38)...who has been there, done that. 1. I have never been pulled over in my lowered modified 94 gtst. Why ?....I don't really know...you would need to ask the coppers that I have passed by at the time. Perhaps, my driving style ??...slow and steady ?? , (well not too slow....I'm not an old fart...they piss me off too)...who knows. We all know what is required on the roads...if you are doing the right thing...that's all you can do....that's all I do. I find I get passed a lot whilst driving around town...but as I've said before...I just like cruising in one of the finest machines on the road. 2. My cousin is a copper, and my present boss was a SA copper for 21 years. I have discussed this issue with them on a number of occasions...really there is no secret. If you get pulled over, 'RESTECP'.....I mean 'RESPECT'....GIVE IT, AND YOU'LL GET IT! It really doesn't matter who pulls you over...it could be the nicest god fearing copper in town....if you lip on and piss him off, 99% chance you'll get a ticket. I have this info from the horses mouth....take note.....'yes sir, no sir, three bags full sir'....try it. 3. On note 2, if you did do something wrong, cop it sweet....nothing pisses me off more than someone who doesn't accept responsibility for their actions.....and I would think the same goes for the coppers....if their gear say's you were doing 120....then odds are you were probably were.....'sorry officer, I didn't realise...won't happen again....I'll concentrate more in future'.....(using the 'yes sir, no sir, three bags full sir' rule greatly enhances your chances of getting off). If your car gets canaried (defected)...then I guess, (as pointed out in other posts)...get it fixed....that way, the coppers have no ammo on you. If then you consider you are being harrassed, then you may probably be right, and may be able to take some action. 4. BagginG Mr Plod on a public forum like this will only alienate them more from our interest. We should be fostering a good relationship with them, rather than 'wishing them dead! Cruise organisers out there should perhaps discuss your intentions when organising cruises with your local police public relations officer....that way they will know you will be there and support you rather than harrass you. 6. where's 5. 5. oh there it is. 7. I am not a copper ! 8. Yesterday, coming back from the coast, I was passed on a bend by some dick in a standard v6 commondore....he was crazy....flipping here, there and everywhere....others had to brake to let him back into the line of traffic as he misjudged the oncoming traffic on numerous occasions.....this my friends is the classic idiot...I knew I had more power than he had, but I didn't consider it prudent to pass on any of the occasions he did. Whats my point ??......'LEARN TO RECOGNISE YOUR LIMITS AND YOUR VEHICLES LIMITS' 9. Please don't hassle me if you don't agree with what I say, on the other hand, if you do agree, feel free to tell me what a good an wise bloke I am. It is only my view on a few points...I hope I didn't offend anyone in this post....I respect your right to have a point of view...respect mine. cheers and beers to all Ozzy
  15. I was told Auto's came with cruise control .....anyone with an auto ????
  16. Mate.....I was wondering the same thing myself, so I went off on a search and found this.....a lighthearted (I think) guide to 'rice' cars http://www.chefjosh.com/rice.shtml... I guess it is only one guys view, but...I say 'whatever turns you on'....it's about personalising your ride, who gives a s%$t about what the other blokes thinks about your car ? (Usually jealousy driven I think)
  17. Mate...you're a gem....I've just done the job....piece of piss, but I didnt need to remove the plasitc tray....the sump was visible in mine ?? Thanks tons for the informative guide...very helpful. Ozzy
  18. ......but will it cause any damage ?
  19. OK...youve given me some ideas...thanks. Some great theories, and it's intriguing that others suffer the same problem. It is actually a popping noise, rather than a backfire, still, it is a bit distressing. Is it damaging though ?? I do have an aftermarket exhaust...a Kakimoto NS309....but the problem has only recently started....possibly after I was stuffing around with the BOV tension. I might try tightening up the BOV (an atmo) and see if that has any effect. cheers Ozzy
  20. Eeeeeek...go and see your favourite mechanic !
  21. Has anyone experienced backfiring on gear change when u take your foot off the loud pedal ? I've only had around 0.8 bar dialled in (bleed valve), but I backed it down to around 0.6-0.7 but no change....I don't think it has anything to do with boost. Any ideas ?
  22. It's all explained here......http://members.iinet.net.au/~sayers/biscui...uits/turbos.htm cheers Ozzy
  23. never mind....I suppose it's good advice though....I'm sure someone will take it off your hands....I've seen a black R34 around QBN ????
  24. Bummer man...sorry to hear. Another option is to get in touch with someone who sells those NISMO keys in Aust, and (really nicley) ask if they would be so kind to help out a fellow import nut by swapping your R34 key for a 33 key ???....Unique Auto Sports is the Australian NISMO agent (I believe)....maybe them ??, or JustJap....Best of ruck repracing key. Ozzy http://www.uniqueautosports.com.au/
  25. .............EVO Motorsport ?????
