  1. Cheers Mick! His '34 is factory fresh... which I understand is a rarity these days. So I'd expect it's the factory ECU.
  2. First of all, I asked if anybody had tried connecting an OBD device to a Consult port using an adaptor cable. From your response, I take it you haven't. So how are you helping me by essentially telling me that you don't know? Secondly, I didn't say they were *incompatible*, I said that they didn't conform to the standard. There are plenty of instances of pre-OBD cars connecting to OBD devices, assuming the right connector is in the middle. And I'd lay money on the fact that if you plugged it in, SOME data would make it through. I'm just wondering whether it's the data I'd want. Thirdly, "I can't imagine why anybody would"? Are you serious? People get curious. And I KNOW I'm not the first person on the internet to ask the question that I did, because many googlings proved that to me. So I'm NOT the only person out there wondering about this - but NOBODY is answering.
  3. R34 and OBD2 Oi oi Just a quick question... and I'm really after just a straight yes or no answer on this... I'm looking at buying a gift for somebody I know who owns an R34 GTT - one of those OBD 2 Head Up Displays, much like this: https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/obdii-car-head-display/ (revs, speed, temp, alerts, etc). I know the R34s predate 2007, and therefore don't conform to the OBDII standard (even though the 'standard' is actually three different protocols). But I know the R34s have the Consult port. My question is... if I buy one of those adaptors on eBay to connect the OBD device to the Consult port, will the HUD work as intended? Peace.
