my guess is the restriction from the muffler as i have seen the same sort of thing ( massive discolouration on the cat body ) on other restricted exhaust systems . to be honest the size your silencer drops down to is insane and your mechanic should have removed it before performing the other performance work on your car . kermit Kermit Engineering

hey guys , yes thats my car ( old ) , doesnt she look nice . maybe the km's are a typo ? a really bad one ? i cant comment on the price either although it is common knowledge what i was asking and it was sold for a bit less . its possible that he spent heaps on it since buying it . he has listed a twin plate clutch which i didnt have , is 2 grand there ? plus other mods ? maybe he bombed it ? but is definately my car and justin was his name but seeing as i dont know what has happened to the car since i sold it i cannot comment on his asking price. kermit

Kermit Engineering, Custom Exhausts. hey mate , for an exhaust please dont allow yourself to be convinced that you MUST have a Jap brand exhaust . i have a RB25DET at the moment which has a full exhaust ( minus dump atm , is on its way). mant people dont seem to realise that muffler design has a lot to do with the note and noise. a quality muffler will not be stupidly loud even in a single muffler system as long as you run a cat converter. i have a quality single muffler on the cefiro and the note is meanacing but cetainly not loud even at high rpm and to date i have not even been looked at by the police and would happily go over the pits with this exhaust. if you are interested have a listen to my ceffie and see what you think . a custom exhaust will always fit better than a off the shelf system , it will be designed to suit your requirements and have maximum ground clearance. custom systems will also be a lot cheaper than what you may think . hey chi lots of people seem to want a 3.5" exhaust when a 3" exhaust will do the job just as well. unless you are planning quite extreme mods then a 3" will suffice . the problem is not the size but the cost of the 3.5 " piping and bends which are 3 times more expensive than 3". my reputation for inexpensive prices comes from not allowing the customer to spend more than what they actually need to yet still giving top notch quality and service . if you insist on 3.5" piping then pm me and i will quote but it is overkill for a custom made system that is a free flowing design . also you want a muffler put into a system ? just making sure as most people want mufflers removed from their systems. just confirm by pm and i will get back to you. kermit 0422549050

for a basic guide i will do any cat back exhaust in 3" stainless for a maximum of $700 if you supply a muffler. this is mandrel bent and has custom hangers. the $550 deal is finished but the price hasnt gone up too much kermit exhaust upgrade will not void any warranty but if in doubt i would suggest calling subaru themselves

to be honest im yet to see a " off the shelf ( jap or what ever) exhaust" that sat properly especially HKS Superdragger cat backs( wonder why they called them dragger.........on the floor maybe?). i say buy whatever makes you happy , whatever the cost. kermit

hey guys , was turning down my climate control today and wasnt paying attention as i was reversing at the time. as i kept the temp down button held down when it hit 18 deg it suddenly turned on the air con and had ' FC' written on the digital display. Probably a silly question but what does FC mean? kermit
