heys, i've done a search but wouldn't find anything.. basically i've noticed a few of you have bought cars from over east. would like to know how you did it. ie did you fly over to have a look?, how was the car shipped over, wat company and how much. feel free to pm any bad points too am finking of buying a car from the east and would like to know ur experiences. cheers johan

imho, its not worth buying a a gts and transfering it..as i have a charade now, i was thinking of doing the same thing when another charade with turbo came up. when doing a "simple body swap" u have to consider, ur changing engine, wiring and otehr electricals, suspension, brakes, exhaust, driveline (gts have to lsd's) and tahts just the outside. the interior may be the same but u'll lose ur suade cloth. also if u buy another full car instead of just a shell, ur gonna have to take out everything from that gts b4 u can put in ur stuff, so in effect ur paying for 2 removals, one install.. im not panel beater, but the things that are gonna cost u the most are ur rear fenders. fronts are cheap. so are lights, front bumpers, and rear lights. hell y ur at it, y not put gtr guards? kyp auto's has a rear gtr cut, give him a call, he's also go front lights and rear lights, so may beable to do u a deal. engine's not f**ked either. even the intercooler looks untouched. hell even the boot. but like everyone has said its ur car ur money. its just cheaper to fix it. (btw sorry for long post. hope it helps)

if u have the entertainment book, and mandurah is far enough, so go seashells by the marina in mandurah. its like $190 a nite, but sumfing liek 25% off wif the book. thou..(no offense to mandurah people) theres not much to do there... if ur willing to drive to dunsborough, bunker bay is a great place...but thats like $200 sumfing a nite..

dunno if it applies for you guys over east, but here you definately need the import approval..that will tell you when it was imported, under wat rule, and if the car is able to be registered no matter what adr compliance u do. no point doing the compliance work, only to realise that u cant license it due to no import approval or wrong import approval. i say, buy it if the import approval checks out. if he aint got one..walk away walk away

who is doing their fitting and painting? is it the workshop advertised on the site?

isnt ur spare suppose to be a space saver?? if so how the heck did u stuff up ur space saver?? o.O also try leo gommers in cannington..he's cheap, good job too. but u have to remove the tyre for him.. also..u running spacers?..can u put the rims on without the spacers?? no spacers = safer... imo

32 33 34 rims are all interchangeable..except if ur trying to fit n/a rims to turbo or vica versa. hope that helps

its a genuine gtr 32 front bar with gtr front bumper support panel. so its plastic fantastic. hope that helps.

like Cerbera said, it also could be caused by loose stuff within the engine bay. my friend has f**ked engine mounts in his old car and once in a full moon when he gave it stick it would read in the low 100's. daily driving never more than 20..so check for loose stuff

alot of us on here are in either mid or hell even early 20's. there's a time and place for everything..and with the housing situation set to worsen if u listen to news and crap...i'd agree with dan. invest it. there's plenty of time later to play with cars my 2c

just bought a full tank of Peak98, and i have to say there is actually a performance gain(seat of pants feeling, no dyno or anything yet). Now my skyline is stock (cat back, air filter = stock) but my worry now is , is it performing better because my car is actually running slightly leaner??

was prob a grade 4.5 in japan....shame.... maybe when it comes back an advanced driving course should be considered?
