Hey mate i cant send a pm for another hour so i'll shoot a reply here, Thermostat will cost $6 to post in a postpack satchel. Only need one thermostat but its not in the bottom of the radiator, its in the block near the waterpump. Im selling the mechanical thermostat that controls the flow of coolant through the radiator. The item thats in the bottom of the radiator is a thermostat switch for the overheat fan which i unfortunatly do not have a spare to sell Hope this helps! Cheers, Rob -

Hey guys, I've got my old rb26 that i'm stripping. Almost everything is available apart from the injectors, harmonic balancer and coils. I havent stripped it back yet but will start soon so photos will crop up in the not too distant future. Fuel Rail + Regulator $100 Intake Plenum $100 Injector plate $300 Throttle Bodies and linkages $300 R32 Turbos x2 Good Cond bugger all shaft play $300 for the pair R32 Turbos x2 appear to be recently rebuilt, sweet fa shaft play. TTT $2500 Dropped the oil and its clean so its not bottom end. Also checked them and the turbos are fine.

Hi Guys, For sale is the RB26DETT motor from my r32 gtr. Motor is still in car and running however is getting a bit tired and is in need of a freshen up. Can be viewed running if requested, will be removed asap upon purchase or in the next few weeks. Has done 114 xxx km and when last checked was coming onto the service limit for compression ~130psi accross all cylinders. Motor has done one track day which resuled in a noise developing like a slight tapping sound. Had it checked by my mechanic and he doesn't believe it to be bottom end, possibly an anciliary or the gearbox. Serviced every 5000km with royal purple oils, less than 1000km ago received major service including new genuine water pump, gates racing belt, new tensioners and JJR adjustable cam gears. Engine oil pressure is fine. Will be selling minus exh manifold and ancilaries but comes with std turbos. One turbo however is believed to have a seeping oil seal. May possibly be sold minus plenum (depends if i need it or not), if this is the case the price will be adjusted accordingly. Located in Adelaide $2800

I'd also try ringing around some other engine rebuilders not just ones synonymous for working on high performance imports. At the end of the day a motors a motor, as long as the builder is competant and everything is built correctly and within tolerances i cant imagine there really being issues. That and most places should offer you some sort of warranty period. Same goes with the machine work, as long as the rebuilder is competent then should be no issue. I've heard of guys that have had high power sr's etc being built at places like city dismantlers and having no probs. That said i most likely wouldnt go there, not for any particular reason but yeh just dont think i could bring myself to . A quick call around by me found prices varying from mid 4k to mid 6k for the same work (mild forged rebuild)

Also recommend a1rm pads, nice, solid pedal feel and very fade resistant. Not too shabby when cold either, when stone cold the first couple stops have a bit less power but there's still plenty of bite there. The difference between hot and cold isn't like some other pads out there where you have bugger all braking when cold, will be interested to see how they fair wear wise on both the pads and the rotors. On another note my mechanic doesnt reckon its the bottom end nor is there any metal filings in my sump, not entirely sure what the knock is but its not very noticable anymore. Always a bonus but its rebuild time regardless as compression is fairly low. If only i wasn't about to rennovate the kitchen, i might've been able to make the next modern reg Oh well
