  1. I was told that the VG30 and the RB25 turbo's have the same compressor A/R but the VG30 has a larger A/R exhaust housing, if this is true why not just stick with your own turbo which you know the condition of and bolt the VG30 exhaust housing on.
  2. would be good to hear from someone that is actually running this on a car
  3. I am after a larger turbo for the RB20 I have heard that the VG30 is good but has a smaller compressor housing and a larger A/R. Also the RB25 has the same A/R but larger compressor housing. Then I heard of using the RB25 turbo and bolting on the VG30 turbo Exhaust housing. My question is will the latter be better than just using either of the turbo's on their own, if not has anyone done this what is involved
  4. Also try Japtech at holden hill
  5. Just wondering if anyone tunes their own cars? I`ve been doing some reseach and it seems that it can`t be that hard to tune youre own factory ECU`s. Firstly desolder and put a socket in your ecu so the Eprom can be easily changed. Seccondly buy or make a cable like this (http://www.plmsdevelopments.com/consult_if.htm) to download the tuning from someone that has the same setup as you or find someone that has something similar and using the Live edit software (http://www.engineers.auckland.ac.nz/~lmoo016/) make minor changes. Next borrow or buy a Eprom burner and put the chip in. I realise that without the use of a dyno the tuning will not be exact but I believe there are some people on these forums that sell tuned roms just by hearing what mods you have thus the above must be achievable. If you have any thoughts or suggestions I would like to hear them.
