i have the same problem but in reverse i cant bring boost down, i would say the bleed valve is stuffed.

i was under the impression that light brown smoke was infact coolent. Black is fuel, white is oil. Check your raidator for oil, just pull the cap off and check for oil. Also check under oil cap for white foaming (water in oil)
