Im currently using Splitfire coils in my 33 and have been told that Mercury Marine Ignitors are stronger for spark. Whats involved in doing this type of setup and what else do i need. I have Haltech E11v2 now, is this ok or do i need to go Motec???
Ive had a Jim berry clutch in my car for ages and he said to remachine the standard flywheel as the weight would be better for the drags. Mine has held just under 400rwkw for months with lots or hard driving on street and at the track with slicks.
What ever he tells you go with that.
Yeah the 33 is slowly getting there, its just had a base tune for now. We will lean on the boost more next time then we will have to have another run at the drags
I did the same in my 33 twice
I had the second box rebuilt with a new 3rd/4th fork bearings and syncros. Cost about $1500. It seems fine to drive I just have to go easy with the gear changes.
Goodluck with it anyway.
I might be having a change of plans and selling the 33. Still not sure tho but am looking into something a little different. Is there anyone out there that would be interested in a 400kw skyline??
It sure is fun on the street, thats when its on boost but the tyres arent liking it at all. Off boost she feels like a standard old skyline with a bit more noise.
Hey mate. If you need any tuning work go see Brad Sherriff he is now at Duggan and Parker in Launceston. He has a dyno and really knows his stuff. He got near 400rwkws out of my 33 on only 17psi.
Sounds like your having fun with 200rwkw just wait till you get a nice big turbo and feel a real big kick in the ass as it comes on boost.
You could donate your rear tyres to me and i will take you for a blast with 400rwkw
