  1. Thats what i thought too, but the guy who told me that 2.5L was all that was needed was a tranmission specialist. He said as long as the gears are picking up oil the trans will be fine and that too much oil will overheat it.
  2. Try pulling the centre console out and check the switch at the base of the handbrake.
  3. I put 3.8L in mine (S1 R33) and a fair bit came out of the breather hole, covering the underneath of the car in oil. After asking around i found that 2.5L is all it needs.
  4. Probably because of fuel prices
  5. Yeah, I had a top day! Thanks for setting up the event Andrew, very well organised! Really excellent group of people! Weather started out a bit average, but got better as the day went on. I’m looking forward to the next cruise/event! I’ll get my pics on here when I get back to the bridge, this computer we’ve got in Adelaide is a piece of junk! Cheers, Sam
  6. Ok, after more research i've found that the rattling noise inside my skyline isn't in the dash. Its actually the left hand (passenger) side bonnet hinge. Has anyone else had this problem and fixed it? Any suggestions appriciated. Cheers, Sam.
  7. My car has this same problem, this is due to the air/fuel ratio being way too rich.
  8. I've heard both 184 & 187. I was reading an old issue of HPI the other day and they said something like "187kw is a common misconception and it was actually rated at 184kw". But yeah, i dunno what to believe. Either way not many of em stay stock for long!
  9. I usually turn my car straight off before i fill up with petrol, but if the turbos been boosted a bit or the servo's not too busy i'll sit in my car and let it idle down for a minute.
  10. Wow, thats nasty!
  11. This is out of a HPI Review - Weight - 1370kg Manual & 1390 Auto Power - 184kw@6400RPM 274Nm@4800RPM 0-100km/h - 6.21seconds 400m - 14.37sec
  12. Yeah hey, pulling the dash out was a pain! But i still haven't located the rattle! I also pulled the LH guard out and everything inside that and removed the side skirt. the rattle wins this one cos i dont want to strip the car down to a bare shell looking for it. It wasn't a complete waste of time though, i tidied up a lot of dodgy and exposed wiring around the instrument cluster and stereo, and replaced all of the dash and vent seals with new weather strips.
  13. R33 GTS-t has 184kw @ engine stock.
  14. Very nice! looks brand new!
  15. you could grind or file a line through the middle of the bolt head, and simply use a flathead screwdriver to undo it. Hope this helps.
  16. Very informative mate, cheers!
  17. Just been searching the forums for info on the SAFC and i was wondering what peoples opinions are on this device? Are you happy with the final result? I want to buy one to get rid of that flat spot just as it hits boost after 3500RPM, it seems to just bog down unless i give it full throtle. So im hoping that it will have more smoother acceleration, and generally be more driveable in traffic. So far i've heard good things about the SAFC providing installation & tuning are correct, but has anyone encountered any problems or faults? Cheers, Sam
  18. The rattle is actually behind that heater box that the arrow is pointing at. Does anyone know of there is much of an area behind that box? I really don't want to pull it all the way out if i can help it (removing that intrusion bar and everything underneath it doesn't look like an easy job). Cheers, Sam
  19. Ok, ive pulled the dashboard out. I went for a short drive, but im limited to where i go (due to no indicators) I've found the area where my rattle is coming from. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appriciated! Cheers, Sam
  20. Yep, i had this ever since i owned my car. Its a knocking sound that happens on bumpy roads somwhere in the passenger side of the dash. Short of ripping the whole dash assembly out, i've tried everything to fix it! Seeing as there is 4 days in this weekend, i reakon ill pull the dash out. The roads are shit where i live, so combined with 'solid as' tanabe coil-overs the noise drives me crazy!
  21. Looks F*#&n sweet mate!
  22. Spewin mate! I can't believe the lack of respect out there for other people's property. It's seems that if your car stands out a bit from the rest, people have to **** with it. I usually leave my car parked out in the street where i work, and some little ****s jumped on my exhaust tip and broken the weld on the support bracket taking a nice chunk out of the side of the can!
