  1. the owner of this car treats it like a baby, i can vouch for the fact that its well looked after. never thrashed, regular servicing and maintenance done. only tasteful mods and a nice looking car too!
  2. really? u pulled the water pipe off and blasted water everywhere? i called a place today and they said 100 for the part, but they dont think ill need the whole assembly, so it could be cheaper i dunno?
  3. yeah it wasnt easy to remove hey. worst part was i couldnt even see what i was doing :S because the oil plate is watercooled, ive pulled off the hose and sprayed coolant everywhere, possibly a bit back into the oil in the block too. i guess i had better dump the oil and replace it too.
  4. he's finally seen the light
  5. hmm seems that it should just unbolt. ill give the wreckers a call tomorrow and see what price they are looking for
  6. hi guys, today i hooked up my electronic oil press gauge. after doing up the sandwich plate(goes between the oil filter and engine) a bit too tight, ive snapped the thread off (the piece that comes out from the block that the oil filter origianly screws onto). has anyone done this before? any rough ideas of whats involved and cost of a replacement? looks to me like its only held on with a few bolts, but its kind of hard to say. thanks Sam
  7. hot soapy water works good. sometimes if its really bad i'll use wax and grease remover, its like a mild solvent

  20. depends on the paint system used too, for some reason ive seen both 3 layer variants and normal COB (clear over base) for TV2. some paint brands will match straight off the machine but others will be much different.
  21. i dont have an oil cooler, but i have an oil temp gauge that i always keep an eye on. once oil starts getting up near 110, i start warming down. if it looks to be too hot i wont be driving, but ill come out for a look regardless
