sounds like valve guide seals. i had a nissan exa turbo that had this same problem. also if i was driving down a hill and lifted off the acclerator i would see the big cloud of smoke in the rearview mirror.

i had this same problem, in my case it was ringlands & an engine rebuild. with any luck its your turbo... first thing would be compression/leak down tests, as '3lit3 32' said. Sam
