Thanks for the info Nath! i just hope it doesnt try to still use the TT mode when i turn it off? Im thinking about splicing it into the CD player wires (12V, Earth, & Green wire to ACC), so that way it might only use the Battery mode? cheers sam

hi all! my situation is my battery light is not working, so i need a voltmeter. i have an Apex (pen-style) turbo-timer (not-installed) that has a battery voltage feature. i already have a turbo-timer inbuild into my alarm, so i do not require the turbo-timer features. so my question is - how do i install the apex timer for use as only a voltmeter? the main wires it has are: Red - 12V constant (obviously hook up to constant battery source) Black - Ground (obviously hook up to earth) Blue - IG2 output? Green - IG1 output? do i need to wire into the ignition harness? or could i just wire it anywhere? can i only use 1 of the blue/green IG wires? or are both required? thanks sam.

lucky i found out about the fuel-pump problem on the dyno too, would have been nasty if i was trying to accelerate above 4500...

i found it on the far right-hand side of the cluster, but for some reason it doesnt work? im sure it has never worked too, the bulb is fine & so are the conections on the circuit thing on the back of the cluster, so it must be something between the wire & ...wherever that wire goes? my alternator has been playing up recently, it only charges when it feels like it, im picking up a 2nd hand one from a wrecker next week. i want to try and get the battery light working so i know when there are any problems in future. thanks sam

apparently the problem with mine is the regulator, and there is no replacement part. im picking up a 2nd hand one next week. car went on the dyno too but the fuel pump wasnt happy above 4500RPM we think thats due to the alternator problem

for sure! glad to hear you happy with the result! im heaps pissed off, i had heaps of driving planned for this weekend & i cant go anywhere where i have to park

we checked it with a multi-meter, and the alternator is only working on and off

nope, it only charges the battery about 50% of the time, so sometimes i park & car wont start afterwards
