  1. Hi everyone. I’ve recently encountered an oil consumption problem. My engine is using something like 1 litre per 1000ks of oil. At first I figured it as a turbo problem, so I pulled of the AFM pipe and the dump pipe, as you can see in the pics there is oil around the compressor wheel and dried up carbon/oil? around the exhaust wheel. There is a trail of oil going through the intercooler pipes from the turbo and into the inlet pipe. I also pulled a spark plug out as one workshop suggested, as you can see in the pic it is very black. Has anyone encountered a similar problem or able to diagnose my problem? Does this sound solely turbo related or piston rings or something else? note oil on the compressor wheel and in the opening there pic taken with a mirror, dry carbon/oil build up around wheel & wastegate area This trail of oil continues through all intercooler piping note the small pool of oil before thottle opening note how dark end of spark plug is Thanks people. Sam

  5. Yeah, injectors are on my list. right after i save a bit more money, these mods are a big drain on the bank account
  6. They do anything to make an extra dollar. Can you PM me the name of the place? i forgot already.
  7. Thats weak, hey. Just make sure we never take any business there. Yeah, for sure they ripped him off, they probably made about $450 an hour out of that job.
  8. Have you got all that gear installed yet duck?
  9. i think it was a HKS GT2530 on R33, right duc? they require some mods before they fit up
  10. Im organising a power fc too, injectors should be fine at the boost levels i'll use, im pretty sure ive got an upgraded fuel pump too, but i need to check that for sure
  11. no probs, duc
  12. so it was as simple as, drop the car at Morpowa and they do all the rest?
  13. Yeah, i know the "gods gift to imports" attitude. Unless you pulled up in front of their shop in a M-spec Nur R34 GT-R and are about to order $50,000 worth of bolt-on gear they dont want to know you
  14. Thats cool about the late reply . I just wanna ask a couple of questions. How did you organise shipping your turbo to and from NSW? I've heard a lot of good things about this turbo, how have you found it so far? Thanks, sam
  15. thats not a bad price
  16. I think the S14 has slightly different lines on the guards too, yeah, id stick with the S13 front, what price is on the s14 one?
  17. Ahh, he's in here right now. hey guy do you have a GCG hi-flow turbo? What are you doing on the Sil80 duc?
  18. hey duc, yeah thanks man, im starting to feel better. I should be out working on my car, but im not allowed . I'm pretty sure my oil consumption prob is turbo related, so once i'm definate, im going new turbo. Did you say Guy (4 door sleeper) has a GCG hi-flow?
  19. so whats everyone up to this weekend? Me, im sick and stuck inside
  20. :werd: my cars running me broke
  21. Whites can have a few variations, darker-lighter, dirty-clean, red-green and yellow-blue Silvers most obvious are light-dark, fine-coarse, there are also varied colour undertones to look for, most comon is a silver is yellow-blue. The best way to pick a colour variation is to check the flip, to do this, make sure the car is in the sunlight (also helps if the car is clean) and look on an angle towards the two panels. im a spray painter btw, so i gotta do this stuff everyday
  22. The way i usually tell if a vehicle has been crash repaired is pretty much go over the whole car with a fine tooth comb (thoroughly). Check all seam seals (cracks, inconsistancy, different on one side to the other), check all edges for fuzzy paint edges, check all window seals for oversparay (especially on 1/4 panel - roof area, check this area for paint fade-outs too), check panels for inconsistant peel, dullness, defects, shrinkback ect. check for colour differences from panel to panel. make sure the car is in a well lit area and look on an angle down the sides, check for rippley/wavey panels. make sure all gaps are consistant. make sure doors, bonnet, boot all open/close without problems. Always good if you can check underneath the car too, chassis rails, under guards ect. It takes awhile to check all these things, but well worth it in the end, hope that helps. sam
  23. on mine i had to pull that plastic cover out from inside the front guards (which involves pulling front of the side skirt out), then reach in there and the indicator is sort of like a clip, just apply pressure to one side of it and push it outwards. hope that helps sam.
