Back to turbo selection, just saw the new Garrett G40 1150, seems like it comes in t4 divided in all rear housing A/R’s. is this turbo comparable to what’s been discussed or does it fall into the big/laggy category. I’m going to give GCG a call today and have a chat about it

I was getting a shudder under acceleration in my 32, ended up being two of the gearbox crossmember bolts were threaded. -

More parts ordered, more parts coming in, Nismo restoration! Pfft, got nothing on me. Lmao Also got brand new headlights. . Had the engine bay ceramic coated by my Detailer while it’s bare, came up a treat. -
Thanks for the response, Predator1, did you get the Alcon kit from brakes direct? the Alcons are 5k cheaper then the 35 brakes!
-
Will be upgrading the brakes on my GTR when it goes back together, got my heart set on the R35 brake conversion. what setups have people used and what were the results, I could go Alcons which are significantly cheaper. alcons are a 355mm rotor, using the CAR89 callipers and R35 are a 390mm rotor. Im assuming the answer is both are more then I’ll need on the street 😂

That is all suitable, They can even do plastic parts, he showed me a fuse box cover from a VL he did, looked brand new. I’ve given him a few plastic parts, I’ll post them when I get them back. -
E gate vs conventional gate

Think I will be, but I’m going to get my loom made with provisions for an E gate -

Something I haven’t considered, I am leaning towards getting the Plazmaman plenum. -

E gate vs conventional gate
Old man 32 GTR replied to Old man 32 GTR's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I guess space would be another issue, I’ve been told the reaction time of opening and closing is slow compared to a traditional gate. I just like the idea of being able to control the gate, could be used to take out some of the aggression on the power delivery through the midrange. -

Yep, my mechanic said, little to no gain in performance, all for aesthetics, problem is, with as far as I’m now going with the car, should I skimp out on this??? my personal opinion is, I love the Nismo plenum, but to buy one and cut it up seems…questionable. -

With as far as I am now going also considering moving on the M130 and buying an M150 ecu, purely based on future proofing the car for any future additions, I kind of have to do this now as I am getting a custom loom made and loom will be made for whatever ecu is in the car. . Question??? I’m being told I should discard the factory plenum in favour of a Plazmaman / Hypertune. I’m still undecided on this… interested to hear peoples thoughts. -

In my quest to catch up to R32 25T, things are moving forward, more parts back from cerakote. Hoping to order the gearbox next week. -
Well my build is progressing and I need to decide on wastegate. I really wanted to fit an E gate but am not sure, who has used them and how do they perform? on paper they should be amazing but can’t find much on real world results, other then catastrophic failures.

Twins vs single vs 2 x singles lol
Old man 32 GTR replied to Old man 32 GTR's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I don’t know, car is still in pieces, will update my build thread soon as I will be pushing forward and try to get it back on its wheels in the next couple of months. the 68/70 on the 3L was awesome, but I honestly couldn’t really feel the difference between it and a 2.6 with a 64/66 (a mates car). But at roll racing I had an edge on him in acceleration. And that was when I was lifting the head and running 28psi vs the 64/66 running 32psi. The new 68/75 I bought will be going on my new 2.7 motor so will no doubt be vastly different. I’ll let you know when it’s finally together. -

CRD built 3.2, wide journal drag spec bottom end with CRD race port head combo, not sure of the exact specifics, will be running auto and NOS. I like that it’s something different, sure he could have run a pro mod like all the others (in that league) but you don’t learn if you don’t try. Car looks mint and is coming together really well. -

Well they get big pro mods on boost, the car is being set up for drag racing, not street duties -

Yep, two of my turbos! Lol -
As stated in title, when you’re hell bent on twins, but love singles, this is going in my mates car. Should make some serious numbers.
