  1. Wiper motor looks nice as well, how did you clean it? Or did you buy new?
  2. Haha, I just turned 43, hope to finish the car before I retire 🤣🤣
  3. That’s what happens when you own a GTR, the car gets spoilt, while we bust our ass trying to pay for it all 😂😂
  4. Video is cool, great job by your little man 👍🏼
  5. I’ve removed mine as it was no longer functional with the motec controlling everything. Brake feel was basically the same, but I didn’t drive the car enough and never in anger so can’t really give proper feedback. My only option for abs at this point is the Bosch motorsport system, but that is $$$! but for day to day driving, no difference in pedal feel.
  6. Picked up the parts that were coated, guy did an awesome job, very happy with the results, all the arms are hard race (didn’t like the blue)
  7. I’m not sure, but everything was done, even the spring and plastic cover
  8. Got my wiper arms back, better then new!
  9. Well I really hope it lasts, not planing on stripping the car completely anytime in the near future 😂😂 or ever after this. Time will tell I guess
  10. More parts ready to be picked up after cerakote
  11. Shot peening is a process that has been around for a long time. Like I said, I’ve had my front and rear ring and pinion gear done. My diff and gearbox guy has been using Neat for many years and vouched for them. I’ve spoken to them over the phone. They were very friendly and informative. I’ve got the gears back and they look good, once my car is back together I’ll see how they hold up. but as you can no longer buy the front ring and pinion gear, (other then second hand) it’s good to know you can buy new from there guys, they state the material they use to make the gears is a higher grade, therefore stronger and all their gear sets are shot peened.
  12. If you want 3.545, contact Neat gearboxes, they make them, may even have them on the shelf.
  13. I tried painting mine, let’s just say I’m no painter! Lol I didn’t soda blast though, just hit it with some 400 wet/dry paper
  14. Sorry, didn’t consider that, I’m used to GTR life, where wait times aren’t considered. to get them coated wouldn’t be more then $50, but you would need someone close to you for efficiency. My guy could do them in a couple of days if it was urgent but if your posting would be a nightmare on wait time. and you’d be fkd if you got caught in the rain. I know with the GTR new arms are close to $300, not sure with your car. But coating wouldn’t or should I say shouldn’t be more the $50
  15. Get them coated, I’ve sent mine to Xtreme fuel systems, they are getting cerakoted, I’ll post photos when I get them back
  16. 😂😂😂 I think, even if I had the money required to finish it right now, I couldn’t get it done before then. Going to be a slow build. Will try to aim for GTR festival 2023. I think that is achievable.
  17. With all that’s gone on with the car I don’t think I’ve posted what my goals/expectations are with the car. Im trying to build something that will be a versatile street car, something I can drive for 4-5 hours and not hate, but also do a little roll/drag racing and have some fun in. Not trying to break any records, just want it nice to drive, clean and decent power. For this reason I have decided to stick with the 68mm turbo, using the new 68/75 by precision. I did strongly consider the Garrett G35 1050 and 64/66 but was talked out of it by the workshop. power goals? That always comes down to turbo so that should be obvious. I’d be happy with 400-450kw for the street and 600-650kw for drag/roll racing. Also car will be flex tuned and I’m hoping for around the 400kw mark on 98. I feel the turbo is versatile enough to hit these marks. Some will probably argue that this could have been achieved with the 64/66 and given a more responsive set up, but the 68/75 will do it easier and may give more on that higher number. Suspension, I’m sticking with my MCA purples which I’ve just had rebuilt so they are fresh and ready to go in. They provided a compliant ride and good handling. I’ll be using the Hardrace catalog of arms and GK tech hicas elimination kit. I’ve gone with white line sway bars and bushes throughout with Nismo diff and gearbox mounts. brakes??? I’m still undecided on this, currently I have my R33 brembos which have just been rebuilt and re coated, with project Mu pads and rotors, they did work very well but the temptation to go the r35 brake set up is strong… Gearbox… think I’ve commented on every gearbox thread and sent a few pm’s. Options are R34 getrag box, Holinger or OS88. As the car will be more street you could say the getrag is the best choice here, but I’ve had a sequential in the car before (it was fkn awesome) SO… getrag will lean the car to street and make a much nicer street car, sequential will be more ‘race’ but you can live with them and I felt they really compliment the personality of the car, so at this stage, I’m leaning towards the Holinger. Driveline, everything standard, building a 31 spline rear diff with new quaife centre and new ring and pinion gear, quaife front centre with both front and rear gears being shot peened by neat, new hubs, centre bearing and nuts/bolts and boots all round. Shop was telling me to go new rear shafts, some company do a Porsche driveshaft modified to fit the skyline, but they are 4K a pair, just don’t know if it’s worth it?? Be curious on peoples thoughts. Wheels, well I do love the R34 wheels but might look into a set of Rays as the car gets closer to completion, not sure what yet. Interior, car will be going for a full retrim, goal is factory colours but better material, leather for dash and door cards, maybe a little alcantara. So there will be no cage, no chute and no straight cut gears! Lol Hopefully just a good all round street car. Happy to hear any criticism or suggestions if you feel I’m going wrong in any area, or something I should be doing different?
  18. From what I’ve been told mechanical lsd’s can be harsh when in the front diff, for street duties quaife seems to be what most use, and they are really good for drag/roll racing. For rear, obviously quaife use a 31 spline centre so to use it in your current diff (which if it’s an early model 32) you’ll need 31spline half shafts, which are hard to come by, I think Cusco would be fine, I know Nismo do a 29spline diff kit which comes with new half shafts as well as centre, can be bought through just Jap and probably JDM garage. On mine I sent the ring and pinion gears of both front and rear diff to Neat gearboxes and had them shot peened. If you got the coin, Neat actually make new ring and pinion gears for front and rear diff, better material and rated much stronger then stock but your looking at 2k each end.
  19. Yes, title is ‘GTR, I just got one’ or something like that, I really need to update it with the direction I’m taking the car, it more follows the evolution of the car then an outright build, although it is now going through a nut and bolt restoration. I was running a 30/26 with a 68/70 turbo, was a really nice combo, had a few issues when it was last finished and I was going to sort it but a motor came up, similar to yours, JHH built , but 2.7 in an N1 block with JHH raceport head, was built using a new block and new head. so rather then sink more money into sorting out the old set up I took it out, sold the motor and started what I’m into now. Was supposed to be engine out, paint the bay, new motor in and tune… didn’t work out that way. Lol
  20. Just read the thread, coming along nicely, great build, look forward to seeing this one finished, I’m in the middle of a build myself, well middle is being generous, probably closer to start, gearbox was, and still is to some extent a big dilemma for me, sequential is a must, after speaking to numerous people I came down to either OS88 or Holinger, right now I’m set on Holinger, but haven’t pulled the trigger on anything yet. All the best moving forward and keep the updates coming 👍🏼
  21. If you want new, just Jap and kudos stock them, aftermarket, call concept garage in Preston’s Sydney, makes a really nice oem style with extra lip, fitment is near perfect. From memory was around $350 unpainted this is concept garages one
  22. Coming along nicely, when’s the bay getting painted? 😁👍🏼
