  1. I've always loved the looks of old gen STI and EVO. Nice looking car. Since I live in Canada I have no clue what WA is lol, but regardless of that, Welcome aboard!
  2. Thanks all for the replies. As for the stage 2, it's how we refer to an upgraded clutch where i live. Stage 0 = stock, Stage 2 = getting pretty darn stiff but will handle all the bolt ons and tune. Basically the max for a pure street car that's never going to see any track and It's not a twinplate clutch. It's just real stiff. Cheers!
  3. Learning to drive stick Might sound like a strange topic to post coming from a guy that just bought a 91 GTR... But... It's the case lol. I've almost never drove stick before and boy can I say that 1) I'm complete arse at backing up the car and 2) I hate red lights and stop signs. Learning on a stage 2 clutch is pretty rough but so much fun! I can't heel n toe, I can't rev match, I have a hard time changing gears in a sharp turn lol, the list goes on. So SAU, help a learning bro out, you got any tips for me for learning stick on a skyline? It's nothing like I've drove before. Turbo, rhd, stickshift, it's all so unsettling yet so fun. Cheers!
  4. What brand of paper pod filters would you recommand? Looking around I found this : https://www.nengun.com/apexi/power-intake-gtr Now i don't know anything bout any of this so I don't know if I need the entire kit or just the pods. I'll have to take pictures when I have time. And that's a sweet looking heatshield/enclosed there. I wonder how it was made. Cheers!
  5. I for sure need to check my exhaust for leaks. Now I don't know if I can find the stock airbox, but I'll give it a shot. If i can't what else do you recommend? The guy mentionned that I need to check that all the original recirculating piping is still there if I am to fit the oem bov. I like dtaying stockish so that's kind of a bonus if I go back to oem.
  6. The way he calls it is blowthrough as a term lol. Since he tried explaining it to me and i wasn't exactly catching along whate he was saying he just said call it blowthrough maf. It's probably me not understanding stuff since this is all new to me lol. And the guy speaks french so yeah, he might not have the best english terminology either. The bov are HKS and vents to atmosphere. (Goes pshhhh) Now what the told me is that what he would do if I brought him the car, is move the AFM or maf or whatever the real terms is (the air meter captors things). He'd move them towards the front so that I can keep the stock ecu. That way it would avoid the factory setup that thinks the air is going to recirculate back into the system and compensates with more fuel even though there is no extra air because of the atmo bov. With them up front he'd set it up so that the air being vented out by the bov is nonexistent to the ecu. sorry for the crappy terminology, I'm still learning.
  7. Blow through MAF My R32 GTR smells aweful everytime I change gears (exhaust smell in the cabin). So I Phone up a reputable skyline tuner and he said it's because of my aftermarket bov. (I read a lot on r32 before so he confirmed what I thought) He recommends going blow through MAF and then tuning or finding oem piping and oem bov. I want to get a tune anyways, so should I try to find the oem stuff somewhere or go with the blowthrough set up? [My car is pretty darn stockish apart from HKS green pod thing intakes, what looks like a 3'' full exhaust and a 20 something year old tune from japan with the stock ECU] check out my newbie intro tread if you wanna see what it looks like Cheers!
  8. MY girlriend hates that we smell like gas everytime we go drive the car haha. Should eventually get that fixed.
  9. Finally had some time this weekend to take my new acquisition for a spin, wash it and find a car cover for it. Here as promised, some pictures. Cheers!
  10. Now I don't know how big they be, but maybe an SR family engine?
  11. Hey welcome! That's pretty bold to buy a 1995 car and have to wait almost 3 years for it to be compliant. I wouldn't be able to wait haha. Cheers!
  12. New R32 GTR owner Hey! What's up ya'll? My name is Antoine and I'm a proud new owner of a 1991 R32 GTR. Now unfortunatly I don't have any pictures for you all today but I would like to eventually post some. Maybe even start a build thread/fix thread?? dedicated to fixing the few things wrong with the car.. I currently live in Quebec/Canada and here in Quebec we are the only province that banned RHD vehicles. Yep that's right nor more rhd vehicles since 2009 in quebec. I'm lucky I managed to buy one road legal. I have a few things that need to be fixed on the car. 1. Horn doesn't work. 2. The back side windows are painted black. Makes it real ahrd seeing upcoming traffic. 3. Now it's not really an issue for me, but worth asking. When the engine is still warm and I start the car again, I need to give it some gas or else it won't start. 4. The sorta not big deal but annoying problem that I'd really like to eventually get fixed is this : Everytime I change gears it smells like burnt gas all over the cabin for a few secs then it goes away. It has HKS blowoff valves (external) and I think this might be the issue. I read somewhere that the car was factory tuned with recirculating valves?? Need your opinion on this. I'm thinking that the car shoots more fuel into the mix because it's expecting an air return but never gets one resulting in a crazy rich mixture. and to keep on the subject of burnt fuel smeel, I swear I'm not imagining this, but when I was cruising back home on the highway (motorway?? that how you guys say it?) I think I saw fume coming out of the heand break once and a while. Now the fuel smell doesn't really bother me, what bothers me is that I smell like arse when I'm done driving the car and need to wash my clothes and take a shower oh and that my GF complains about the smell lol. Cheers!
