  1. Ive got an op6 highflow that was removed due to upgrade. Had no issues at all, i have no info about the turbo as it was on the car when i bought it
  2. How much piston to valve clearence do you have? I just done this but used the checking spring method, got some light duty springs from bunnings and switched these in cyl 1 and 6 on an inlet and exhaust valve. Was able to check clearence from 20 degrees btdc to 20 degrees atdc every 2 degrees to see exactly how much clearence there was. With the light springs installed it was as easy as gently pressing down on the lifter until it made contact.
  3. Can get the fuel cell foam from rocket or probably on ebay too
  4. It goes to a bleed point from factory so that might be the best place to run it
  5. Ive only got a part time motor going in at the monent so will leave this alone for now. I did tap the other one for a -12 fitting to go in so i dont have that fitting on the back of the thermostat housing any more, keep changing my mind how ill set it up
  6. I dont have a close up pic but i put a plug in the turbo water return and 2 bleeders in the manifold The idea was to slip some hose over the bleeders and connect to a bottle that can hang from the bonnet while bleeding the system, just to keep coolant from getting everywhere. Havent thought too much about this lately as i dont have a running motor so dont really need to worry about how to plumb the water system up
  7. At least they used grommets lol, seen them put through raw before and it makes you cringe
  8. Are de and det neo valves the same size? If yes there is a de neo head on gumtree
  9. That would be with a multimeter ?
  10. Unfortunately i didnt get to meet Andrew as a mate picked up the kits for me but he was very helpful and easy to deal with. The kits look great and im very happy thankyou ?
  11. Just ask them what their salvage value is for the car, then low ball them. Say its got sentimental value, might work....
  12. Quick run on the dyno today just to have look at things, no tuning has been done with this turbo setup but was previously tuned with an unknown high flow on 14psi. Currently does not have the boost controller plumbed up and has 14psi gate pressure with a turbosmart 50mm on a 6boost manifold and 5862 turbo. The dyno graph shows rpm about 300rpm different to last time it was on there, makes it look a bit laggy but it feels not that much different down low from the high flow and is a completely different car now through the mid range and up top. Currently has 11 degrees of timing from 4500 rpm and up at 18psi. Its given me a bit of motivation to get the new motor together and get it on e85 and turn it up
  13. Yeah didnt think the offer would stick but cant hurt throwing it out there ?
  14. No just need a time out lol, im use to things not working out the first attempt or 2. This car really should have been deregistered and sent to scrap but i kind of liked it so gave it a home, its been an interesting/ expensive 12 months of ownership......
  15. Nice at least you will know exactly whats what in there now. What rings, ring gaps you planning to use?
  16. Not interested in a bike by any chance? 2012 zx636, under 2k on the clock
  17. Oh well there's $1745 of machine work down the gurgler, there were a few other issues too so might just bin it as i dont trust any of it now. Just have to save up and get another block, crank, crank collar and ring set and start again.
  18. Sounds like a pulley or ac tensioner bearing. Easiest way to rule those out is by taking the fan belts off one at a time. I would still take the intake off the turbo just to have a look anyway
  19. I wonder if different manufacturers collars are slightly different sizes. Not a precise measurement but the crank measures 35mm where the collar slides on
  20. Im thinking lightly warm with heat gun and give it a twist to see if it moves. On the other hand the loctite and grubscrews should hold it? Possibility to have it welded maybe, im just not sure. Hi octane posted a pic on facebook where a crank nose had snapped off, so ive got it on my head this is going to do the same lol. Its dangerous when you have a little bit of information......
  21. They were like figjam do you know how many engines we do here, really poor attitude when i asked them about. Said they would not have sent it out if that was the case but the owner didnt see it before i picked up. Tone changed a little when i said it had red loctite and they wanted me to bring it back for them to inspect, but things got a little heated and i said i wouldnt let them touch it.
  22. Hi guys just wanted to ask for your advise about the fitment of this crank collar. The grub screws are drilled about 3mm into the crank, i have taken them out and not screwed them back in all the way. My concern is it looks like the crank has been machined so the collar will slip on and loctite used to help hold it. I hope im wrong but what are your thoughts, would you be happy to use as is, if not what are my options. Thanks ?
  23. Gap plugs down to .8, check all coil plugs are good and bov is plumbed properly
  24. This is a mates 25/30 gt42 but in a VL using a 6boost He is aiming for the 8's too
