I wonder if you could just unplug it at the throttle body

Wantgtr - Now Have One! Bnr32

How do you plan to run the pumps? Always on or will they be turned on when needed by the ecu, or something different. -

Rb25 Coolant Flow / Hose / Swirl Pot / Header Tank Setup
NEO25T replied to kitto's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
At the jamboree today i was having a stickybeak at some of the engine bays and noticed one setup similar to this one. It had no radiator filler and the 3 points on manifold ran to near the top of header tank and bottom of header to bottom radiator hose. The difference was it was like a swirl pot too and mounted in top radiator hose. I still dont understand these setups properly, mainly the lower hose. -

6 boost top mount and external wastegate
NEO25T replied to Eager's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Here is my one thats just about done. I changed my mind on how the pipes were routed every 10 mins while making it lol, if i was to do it again i would use 4 inch pipe instead of 3.5 and maybe give a touch more clearence between gate and exhaust. It has about 1/2 inch clearence now and i wanted to keep the exhaust as far away from the abs, heater and ac. Wastegate pipe just goes down and plumbed in before the cat, has a flex joint in there too.- 8 replies

Replacing Coolant hoses on RB25DET R33 R34
NEO25T replied to QLDR31's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
This end? Ive only got a few pics of it at different stages of removal so i can work out what goes where later. The other pics dont really show any more than these but are a bit more zoomed in on each section. -
Yep its the front one im planning to use as the rear drain point on the block would need either a sharp bend to get it down or loop it round the back which would make it 3 times the length.
-
I can run -12 drain flange on the turbo then use a -12 braid hose with a 45 degree fitting on the top end with a 90 degree on the bottom going in to the block just in front of the engine mount. Hose should be almost straight with only a slight bend. Might might have another look to see if i can use a 45 bend in the bottom of hose too but not sure if ill have clearance. Ok cheers thanks guys ill keep an eye on that, i think the kit came with -4 feed and turbosmart filter
-
What installation errors have you seen that cause issues
-
What size oil drain do you guys use? Precision say minimum -10 which was supplied with the kit i got but after looking at the drain size at the base of the turbo it seems too small. I didnt measure the factory turbo drain but from memory (which is terrible) it would be closer to -12. Is this a case of bigger is better or will -10 be fine.

Here is a pic for you with manifold off ? -
I have a platinum racing one sitting there waiting to go on the new motor, apparently they can be used with the factory balancer. I hope that is right as i somehow ended up ordering 2 new balancers, would be a shame if i couldnt use 1 of them lol. The high octane cam sensor has the cover and looks way nicer.

I wired mine in through the auxiliary harness, it is an aem wideband gauge that uses a bosch sensor but its a different one to the one you have. The aem gauge has an output for the ecu then you just set the calibration on the ecu.

That was the turbo i picked until precision steered me to the 5862. There was a 4 door r34 in the for sale section with the 6062 recently 407kw e85 25psi

That dyno run puts a smile on your face, i watched it several times lol, what boost was that at? Its funny how precision rate the power of the turbos, when i spoke with them they said compressor maps cost too much to produce so they use real world figures. I went through the process with them and they spec the 5862 for my car which they rate at 700hp. Obviously uses the same size turbine as the 6262 but has a smaller 58-76mm compressor instead of 62-82mm. Had been hoping to have mine together by now but its still a little way off, hopefully soon though

Yeah i wish it would come back like brand new but apparently they dont from what i read. A guy i use to work with many years ago built engines at home, he told me saturday is for cleaning and sunday is for assembly. I never heard about one of his engines letting go so even if you spend a whole day cleaning and dont find a spec of crap or a shaving at least you can be 100% sure its clean, cheap insurance for the money spent me thinks

Im about to get my engine back from machine shop and will be my first time putting one together. From what ive read cleaning is super critical, i got a moroso brush kit to clean out all the passages which will be done a number of times, drying between each time. I asked the machine shop to check all bearing clearences for me. Another thing i got is a tapered ring compressor as i heard they work better. Dont forget to prime oil pump ?

Rb25 Coolant Flow / Hose / Swirl Pot / Header Tank Setup
NEO25T replied to kitto's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Is someone able to explain the difference between running the bottom of the header as per pic compared to the lower radiator hose
