  1. Lulu, the best substitution for a real hero the poms can find lol.
  2. No need to tow, fit your pedal, err 'race' car in the back lol.
  3. Well a bunch of us are going to Bathurst in November to track our own cars, watching someone else do it has little appeal compared with such a real personal experience. Get off your bums and join us
  4. Given your experience Harry I'd get a set of Nankangs if they had my sizes. I've ordered a set of soft Z214's in 275 and 245, softs because the Z does not heat tyres much. Except the rears in a straight line
  5. Yoko AO50's still getting good reports for being able to retain grip after a lot of heat cycles? A set of 17" Hankook Z214's will cost me about $400 each so the Yoko's will only be good value if they heat cycle longer.
  6. Bring your winter clothes etc, if it's a clear day it will be great.
  7. Great thread ruined by off topic questions cluttering it up and people not reading information already posted. This is exactly how posters with experience to share get pissed off and leave, STF up and listen dream boats.
  8. Pics are all dead, I was wondering if these kits would suit a 88 Z31 300ZX. S13 based conversions have been done in the US and as far as I can tell the Skyline suspension setup is similar to the Z31's. Old thread I know, no harm asking though.
  9. Are we there yet?
  10. That makes the Federal FZ 201 pretty good value then, plus they are road legal in Europe anyway. How much of a performance gap for track use to the Handycook's do you think Duncan?
  11. lol this thread heated up I've used NT01's which are a real semi slick and not bad but not up there with the best for racing in 2016. One thing with Harry's reports is that they are roughly comparative with the other tyres he has used so to dismiss them outright is just plain dumb. Then again he won't say what cold pressures are used so...........
  12. What cold pressures are you running Harry?
  13. The Cherokee is a great tow car stability wise, it's just a pity that like all mid size SUV's it has a relatively small diesel engine. The chassis could easily handle more power and now I'm not so sure that the two liter diesel is a better choice all round than the V6 petrol. The diesel is a little beauty though and towed the loaded trailer up the Toowoomba range quite easily. Can never have too much power when towing though and I suspect that when towing there is bugger all difference in fuel economy between a good small diesel and a good big diesel.
  14. Perhaps Dan is going to have to start making 'suggestions' on race strategy and tyres, sounds like his engineer needs to look for another job if there is a lack of driver communication too. He needs to stay with RB though, a night on the piss should help calm his disappointment, obviously gutted.
  15. Sprints or Regularity for the SAU group fatz?
  16. The Nankangs could turn out to be good going on the Hankook success story. Price them cheaply to get them out there and let word of mouth do the rest then when they get popular stick the price up. Tried them yet Harry? C'mon, get a move on.
  17. Going on what Dan said he was not consulted and did not want to do a three stopper for the reasons ^.
  18. Dan thoroughly pissed off at RB, be interesting to see what happens there. RB favouring 'younger the better' talent makes sense though as a brand promotion.
  19. The Z group has a couple of spare regularity spots, PM me if you like. Don't forget that the Z group is getting covered garages plus the pick of the camping sites and a reasonable number of motorsport experienced participants have joined.
  20. Those Nankangs look pretty good, unfortunately their 17's are not wide enough for mine http://nankangtyres.com.au/tyre/ar-1/ Have to say that my present Hoosiers are doing well, they are wearing very evenly across the tread with the shoulders holding up nicely, better than any other tyre I've tried. The other thing with Hoosiers is their sizing, plenty of 17" choice in 40 series which keeps the width up and the diameter down to help clear the guards. EG the 245/40 Hoosier is 622mm dia, 235/45 Hankook Z221 is 644, the difference allows me to use the wider 245's on the front, comparable Hoosier rears would be 275/40 only 648 dia. I'm talking sprints where there is time to warm the tyres up, not time attack.
  21. Thanks heaps for the tips Snowy, very useful, only thing is I doubt my RWD Zed has as much grip as an Evo
  22. OK Snowy, tell me about the Bathurst newbie traps, the places where it's easy to hit something stationary and how they should be driven. Powerful RWD car.
  23. And what car would that be in Snowy? The only sprint entrant I personally know is Lee Falkner in his MoTech'd 370Z which should go OK, Lee is quite a tidy driver.
