  1. No GTR here but the R200 diff in avatar car uses a stock S14 torsen type diff which I like. It does mean that the rear suspension has to be setup so that both wheels are always on the ground but that's as it should be anyway. For amateur track use I reckon a torsen type is the go.
  2. I'm trying to get wing elements to make my own twin assembly, might try Lightning just to get a shock price wise
  3. Bugger all around in a universal type for us individuals who don't run a 'like everyone else' type car eg effin EVO gay boys have a choice of about ten. Anyway, in the true Aussie DIY spirit I'm working on a solution that should work, a twin element job with help from an aero book.
  4. Know that this is not the classifieds but am after recommendations and sources. A single element straight wing, not one of those bendy ones, up to say 1.7m long. That or a double element type. Must be a genuine motorsport brand. What are peoples experiences and what is good and not so good?
  5. Mines an auto which has less engine torque than the manual. Some tow more than 2T with the auto no problem but I'm conservative with any recommendations, particularly as some want to tow 4WD bush style.
  6. Sold, bargain of the year.
  7. One point about the Challenger. It may be rated to tow three tonnes but two is more realistic in my experience, particularly where people put those bloody awful tyre racks up high on the trailer. Race car? Heard about aero drag? It's true, take notice.
  8. Price reduced to $3500, you won't build one yourself for that.
  9. Mitzi Challenger auto will do me, best diesel bang for buck.
  10. Price reduced to $4000.00. This is a quality trailer eg has new light truck tyres.
  11. Anything with a sideways opening rear door is a shit for shopping.
  12. Yeh, I had that dream too
  13. I've used A1RM's too but they are not a race pad, same with the Lucas TRW pads now being used and which are going to be replaced with the XP10's.
  14. A1RM's are not recommended for pure track pads, have just got some Carbotech XP10's from the US but have not tried them yet.
  15. The Challenger? Oil filter change is a bit awkward otherwise they are fine.
  16. For bang for buck, Mitsy PB Challenger. Will do the school run and goes well off road, what more do you want. A badge? Get out of here
  17. Yeh, what he said ^. Plus Hoosier R6's, how do they compare soft/hard with other semis? Any examples?
  18. Just got a RaceChrono Pro but have not used it yet. The main reason for that choice was it has a remote mount GPS so that the screen can be located anywhere without worrying about GPS signals. Looks like the screen will be mounted on the speedo face where the colour changes at least will be readily seen via peripheral vision. Link http://roostindustries.com/lap_timers.php
  19. V Box and similar can incorporate video as well as having a whole lot of useful driving and data analysis features. Performance Box is cheaper, not sure what it's features are but it is too big to mount on the steering wheel like the LT-6000 will. How do users find units like the LT-6000 with a built in GPS in a tin top car? No problem with GPS signal interference requiring a remote mounted sensor?
  20. This is a top notch trailer, if you have a top notch Skyline then buy it
  21. Having the capacity to tow something but not breaking the bank when doing it is something else. Depends on distances of course, petrol for short, diesel for long drives.
  22. Trailer wheels and tyres cop a hiding, this trailer has new Sunrasia wheels which have heavier rims than old car wheels plus it has new light truck tyres including the spare.
  23. Tyres are a serious safety issue on a trailer, I have experienced first hand a blowout on a mate's trailer using crappy old car tyres. After I got up him about it he went out and bought four new light truck tyres. Not that I expect any thanks for the warning............
  24. Used tyres? Noooo, new truck or special trailer only tyres, trust me. Been there, done that. It's these sorts of price reducing shortcuts that make it hard to sell a quality trailer at a fair price. And the tyre rack? Why so high? For a start that will create a lot of extra drag and so affect performance and fuel consumption. It's easier to say oh what a great buy but there are so many price shortcuts in trailer making that usually price indicates quality.
