  1. Lakeside Sprints 7 Mar 10 in car. Camera is a DigiLife HD SDHC card compact camcorder, made up a pocket mount for it to sit in, standard screw up from the bottom holds it in
  2. 2010 QR and Lakeside days here http://www.queenslandraceway.com.au/main.php?menu=qri02
  3. It looks like the Zed's engine bug has been fixed after a disappointing 2009 so I'm just looking forward to doing QR and Lakeside sprints. Anyway car goes back on the dyno soon, if all is well we will stick some more boost into it, try to get into the 400's horsepower wise. Go through the Lakeside kink at 200 plus would be, errrr, 'nice'.
  4. To each their own I guess. If a place is not fast enough so you can at least have a bit of a blast in fourth gear (3.9 diff) with a high speed corner or two thrown in then its of no interest to me, for all its faults QR qualifies in that regard. Of course Lakeside is faster and more challenging, Philip Island would be even better I imagine.
  5. Looking forward to doing some runs on the QR Sprint circuit again, its fun and there is a bit to it. Yeh sure a well driven big power car will be hard to beat but whats new? Sprint circuit has a few places where time can be gained, a few tricks, its just that Lakeside is so in-your-face-balls-out its easy to say pffft to QR. Anyway I'll be doing both, can't wait
  6. OMG Skyline coming through
  7. So what we need is for people to stay on the track, instad of going gardening or playing in the sand pit
  8. That is cheap. I was looking at getting a set of Dunlop Diruzza Sport Z1 from Tirerack, US$134 each in that size, but its not worth it if the Kuhmo's are that price. Incidentially Tirerack list a Kuhmo Exsta XS as their comparable tyre. At Lakeside on Sunday the KU36 users seemed to be doing times close to the semi users, there seemed to be very little difference. I'll also venture the opinion that tyres are not the limiting factor for most at that circuit
  9. First one is fairly self explanatory, turbo L28 lets go, second one is moi at Lakeside lifting an inside front.
  10. Yeh maybe the Token fanbois could get together and have a love in
  11. My car is still stuffed but hope to spectate, should be a few old school Zeds there.
  12. Yeh that Nismo lip 32 wing will drag like shit so I'm kindly offering to buy it, if it will fit mine. More drag = slower = more time to work out whats happening
  13. The long circuit with the planned extension should be a big improvement, less flip flop more speed. A lot of people rave about MP but bugger me you are constantly racking the steering wheel back and forwards as it is now, Lakeside is so much faster (better!), present MP is second rate by comparison. As it is it suits old light short wheelbase cars like Escorts or modern cars with all the driver aids, particularly AWD's.
  14. Ceva eh, thanks for that Ben
  15. I'm aiming to go to PI next year, whats the best way to get a car there other than drive or trailer it? Car is registered but its too far to drive it all the way and back.
  16. Here is a HD wide screen incar filmed at 30 fps, camera is a solid state ~100 grams DigiLife pocket type, cost ~$300. The subject matter is pretty ordinary but I'm very happy with the video quality. No external mike plug though.
  17. None of the above look like they do wide screen
  18. I'm only going on what you actually said, not in the mind reading business
  19. Yer I'm out there, hopefully the TA group will be rear drivers, none of this FWD/girls car nonsense
  20. "deliberately moving across on RB" eh, see thats an assumption on your part so drop the 'I am so objective' act. Your are assuming intent by using the word "deliberately" when you have no way of knowing what MW's intention was. Plus he has given a perfectly reasonable explanation which you obviously do not accept. Which is your right of course but at the same time shows your bias. Also why would MW intentionally try to hit RB and so consequentially risk damage to his own car? Does not make sense.
  21. Have you spoken to the track owners about insurance? There is no magic with CAMS or AASA, basically they provide insurance in accordance with the insurance policy they have. The track owners would have personal injury insurance, maybe their policy would extend to what you want to do. Or else arrange your own insurance. I would keep away from CAMS and AASA at this stage, at least until you have exhausted other options.
  22. Not having a go at you but this is why some dyno tuners set their dynos up to read high. For this reason alone its unrealistic to compare results from different dynos.
  23. Yeh High Definition (HD) is the way to go, the picture quality is way better than most motorsport specific cameras, some of which have rubbish video quality. There are other HD cameras which are cheaper than the name brands eg Aiptek, Digilife and which usually weigh less then 200grams. YouTube still degrade the picture quality even on HQ, Vimeo are supposed to be better. Here is an incar example using a Digilife 1080HD solid state pocket camera Viewing the file direct its easy to see and read the gauges and speedo, going through YouTube stuffs that part up a bit.
  24. Circuit: Lakeside, Q Car: Datsun 280ZXR Driver: moi Time: 1:02.75 Camera: Digilife 1080HD Notes: Clip does not show best lap time, video quality is degraded on YouTube Link:
