  1. So you are familiar with charges for other cars of a similar type are you? I don't know myself but the guess is that these charges are comparable with other cars of similar performance. Is this wrong? All this whinging about the R35 this, the R35 that. What about overpriced Euro badge cars and their purchase and ownership costs?
  2. 'Forged' and 'built' eh, learn something new every day And heres me thinking that these motors already had forged cranks and rods. Plus were individually hand built in the factory. OK, I'll lay off now
  3. So exactly how does a 'forged engine' make more power? Whatever a 'forged engine' is.
  4. Having stood and watched around the noise meter I can say that most cars were no more than 85, keeping in mind that we are talking about a quiet part of the track where cars are in a high gear and consequentially are not accelerating hard. So to get over 95 there a car has to be exceptionally noisy. Something that any driver should easily be able to tell, if they want to.
  5. Yes, it would be nice to know what actually caused the failure. Because the inference is that weak pistons caused it when from the little we have been told it could have resulted from an over rev, for example. Still most here seem to be happy to assume the worst as far as Nissan are concerned
  6. The thing about Lakeside is that its everyone's responsibility to watch the noise thing, all that has been made perfectly clear. Noise is monitored and the limit strictly enforced, as it should be for all who want to see Lakeaside continue to be open. If anyone is too stupid or selfish to think they are the exception then stuff them, they need to grow up and take on personal responsibility for their actions.
  7. What are you going to carry on that? A lawnmower?
  8. Webber with Vettel, bloody brilliant pairing, now we will see how good RBR really is. Not that we don't know already in 2008 they have been shit, despite the Webber knockers ignoring Coulthard's results as an indicator.
  9. Mmmm, so when are you changing your nicky from mika to Lois err token err Louise err ....... C'mon, you know you want to
  10. A reminder that the earlybird discount finishes at the end of this month, November. Full price from then on.
  11. Drove to Phillip Island and back with a supposed youbeaut electric brake system, it was crap. No matter how it was adjusted it would not work evenly at variable speeds. Adjust it to work at highway speeds and when you had to slow down through a town the brakes would lock up. Hopeless.
  12. And I'll laugh at you because your name Mika is sooo yesterday in F1pitmoleland, which is obviously where you live :PBJ:
  13. Token's arse must be licked shiney and clean, they've probably moved round to the front by now Anyway Webber > BMW
  14. Gforce open face car helmet with Snell compliance, can't remember exactly what it cost ~US$150? I like it, nice helmet to put on and wear, got some vents in it which makes it fairly cool. Would buy again.
  15. Saw a new lightweight one the other day, has an expanded metal floor instead of that heavy checkerplate most use. It had a beaut tilt too, can't recall the brand name though. Agree with Harry about tandem trailers for any car with a bit of weight.
  16. Haha, fun video, was the missus going crook
  17. Yeh the slowly driven dark blue 280ZX coupe
  18. Was yours the black R32/33? in Harry's group? Some quickies in that group, black RX7 of course, black Silvia, white Silouette. Good to watch you blokes in action
  19. The pictures around show stripped gears as causing the failures, or one failure anyway. I think the point is that Nissan should have designed in a weak transmission link that is external to the gearbox, or, otherwise limited stress that would likely cause internal gearbox failure. Having gears as the weak point is not very clever, keeping in mind that the car itself is 'clever' with a host of advanced features and outstanding performance. I think that its reasonable that expectations are high for this particualar car, bet Nissan come up with a fix very shortly.
  20. I've got a near new set of 235 and 255/40R17, hard compound, buggers won't heat up on my Zed unless its a hot day, going to have to get a set of mediums or perhaps R888's. So fingers crossed for a hot day.
  21. Harry of course, a few old Datto Zeds including mine. Mate of mine mentioned talking with Peter Brock about going through the kink, advice was to get the line right, keep the pedal to the metal and get the car straight before braking for the Karrousel . Easy, not
  22. My impression is that there is some serious transmission abuse going on, which with any car will eventually lead to a failure. It seems that there are a number of other make owners in the US who are seriously pissed that the R35 has received so much attention and they are doing their best to discredit the car that is taking attention away from their cars. The various targa R35's in AU must be giving the transmission a serious workout, no failures yet are there? Good test for a transmission I'd guess.
  23. Warning! Linked pics of busted transmission, not a pretty sight. http://www.nagtroc.org/forums/index.php?sh...=25152&st=0
  24. Answer to one of my questions, transmission is Nissan with some BW technology. http://2009gtr.blogspot.com/2008/08/borgwa...008-global.html
  25. Link http://www.nagtroc.org/forums/index.php?sh...=25361&st=0 A couple of things. Is the transmission made by the crowd who made them for the Veyron? Disconnecting the traction control voids the transmission warranty? A bit rough and perhaps unsustainable if there is a manufacturing fault or the transmission is not fit for its intended purpose?
